Just Can’t Stop at One (or Two)

Some snacks are notoriously addictive. Take Oreos for instance. You rip open the top of the pack and take one out. Then, you think, “Why stop there?” You take another, then another, and soon you find that you’ve eaten a lot of Oreos! Thankfully, lottery Patterns are calorie-free (and inedible to boot). However, like Oreos, some Patterns are just so good that they can’t be played just once.

September 28, 2022 was a night of third helpings. Powerball just couldn’t get enough of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern and brought it back for a third night! The jackpot pushed onward to $322 million. Lotto Texas kept things simple and clean, and raised the jackpot to $6.25 million all the same.

Second Verse, Louder Than the First

Too much fun to be had with repeating Three-Number Combinations! Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

In Friday’s post, we were wondering if the {2-2-1-1} Pattern would rule the final week of September. The Pattern encore Tuesday night gives the idea some grounding, but it’s early yet. We’ll have to see if the {2-2-1-1} Pattern is the last Pattern of September, or if Mega Millions has other ideas.

A Playback and the Four Repeats

Greetings Lotterytrend fans! Romulun Harris here. Last night on September 26, 2022, just four days after the fall season had begun, Lotto Texas experienced a playback and Powerball’s frequently played {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern appeared, resulting in a quartet of Three-Number Combination Repeats occurring. And now, the details.

Carryovers and a New Leaf

With a new season in full swing, and two lotteries at play, there were two different approaches to Saturday night’s drawings. One lottery stuck with a Pattern that was featured mid-week. Meanwhile, the other lottery thought a new Pattern was a more fitting start to the season. All things considered, Lotto Texas and Powerball were pleased as punch to see their respective jackpots grow to $5.75 million and $285 million.

Both the {3-2-1} Pattern and the {2-2-1-1} Pattern are known for repeat appearances. Will the last week of September be one of Pattern streaks, or a mishmash of other Patterns?

A Different Pattern Falls In

Many great changes have fallen upon the world these past few weeks. The most recent change was the changing of the seasons. Fittingly, Mega Millions saw a change in the Pattern line-up Friday night. This lottery welcomed fall (or spring for y’all south of the Equator) without a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore. Nonetheless, the jackpot grew to an astounding $325 million.

Lottery Minds Think Alike…Until They Don’t

Lotto Texas and Powerball read each other’s minds earlier this week. On Monday night, both lotteries played host to an Australia Play. Yes, two Australia Plays in one night! Come Wednesday night, Lotto Texas and Powerball took to different strategies to boost their jackpots. One stuck with the Australia Play, and the other opted for another Pattern. Both strategies proved effective, as Lotto Texas’s jackpot settled into $5.5 million, and Powerball’s bounded to $270 million.

Is Powerball’s “breakup” from the Australia Play short-lived, and will Lotto Texas stick with it Saturday night?

Gettin’ Those Combo Fixins

Humans, like all animals, need to eat. Many of us strive to eat a more well-balanced diet, but everyone has that one meal that makes us feel warm and fuzzy inside. Comfort food, or “good fixin’s” if you will. For some, it’s tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. For others, it’s fried fish and chips (French fries for us Yanks). As for lotteries, their “good fixin’s” are common Patterns with an extra kick.

Even though Mega Millions hosted its most common Pattern Tuesday night, the results were anything but! There was an abundance of repeating Three-Number Combinations, and the jackpot reinforced its beastly status. More specifically, the jackpot rose to $301 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The September 20, 2022 Pattern was {2-1-1-1-1}. With winning numbers 9, 21, 28, 30, 52 and MB 10, this Pattern has now played 346 times.

A nice big helping of repeating Three-Number Combinations! Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Is Mega Millions going to stick with the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern Friday night, or will it fall for another Pattern?

September’s Seismic Shift

Great changes came about in the lottery world Saturday night. Lotto Texas, lest it start to think too highly of itself, was knocked back down to earth. Naturally, the jackpot reset to $5 million. The greatest shift was in Powerball. Out of the madness of an Australia Play came a similar spread, an entourage of repeating Three-Number Combinations, and a jackpot that grew to $238 million.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and Powerball decided to take a cue from Lotto Texas with an Australia Play of its own. Thanks to 5, 25, 36, 51, 61 and PB 1, the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order, and the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order made their 48th appearance.

An Australia Play has been featured in 6.14% of the 782 Powerball drawings and was last seen August 22, 2022.

Similar Spread

“Grand” best described September 17th’s Australia Play, and what better demonstration than a similar spread? Saturday night’s numbers had a spread of 20:11:15:10. Similarly, the September 2, 2017 drawing had a spread of 15:20:11:10. That night, the winning numbers were 6, 21, 41, 52, 62 and PB 26. Although the differences between numbers were the same, the orders in which the numbers played, and the numbers themselves, were different.

Three-Number Combinations

All right, all right, there was another grand event that came from Saturday night’s Australia Play. Can you say four repeating Three-Number Combinations?

Mega Millions’ Mid-Month Pattern Shift

In our last Mega Millions post, we mentioned the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern and how it rules this lottery. One reason for the Pattern being high in rank is due to its tendency to repeat itself. There was no such repeat Friday night. Also missing from Friday night was the chaos that accompanied that instance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. Opting for a different Pattern shifted Friday night’s tone and raised the jackpot to $277 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-1-1-1} Pattern was featured in the September 16, 2022 drawing, with winning numbers 15, 30, 35, 38, 66 and MB 12. This Pattern has now played 156 times.

There have now been 811 Mega Millions drawings, and the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has played 19.2% of the time. August 9, 2022 was the last time the {3-1-1-1} Pattern played.

Now with five appearances, the 0 1 3 0 1 1 Specific Order has played in 10% of the 50 drawings where the General Order was [1-3-1-1].
