Up, UP, and…Stuck?!

Fate wasn’t kind to those who want rising Powerball jackpots. After months of a jackpot that grew uninhibited (to the tune over ¾ billion dollars), this lottery encountered trouble yet again January 30, 2021. After seeing a jackpot boost this past Wednesday night, someone from New Jersey came along Saturday night and won the prize! Powerball’s jackpot was reset to $20 million.

What about Lotto Texas? Well, this lottery kept to itself. As Powerball got knocked down, Lotto Texas climbed to $5.75 million.

As we head into February, we’ll need to keep an eye on a couple of things: Whether the {3-2-1} Pattern will make an encore in Lotto Texas, and when Powerball gets its groove back.

Mega Millions and the Combination Octet

It was just one week ago that someone won the billion-dollar jackpot. In the week since then, Mega Millions was resting. The jackpot continued to rise but without many appearances of repeating Three or even Four-Number Combinations. That changed January 29, 2021. Not only did such Combinations come about, but the jackpot also rose to $42 million.

Lotto Texas and Powerball Back in the Game

One word best described Lotto Texas and Powerball: “Forward!” After a crazy mid-week last week, and Powerball getting “stuck” this past Saturday, both lotteries were back in the game January 27, 2021.

By “game”, we mean a lottery’s favorite pastime: thwarting players. As frustrating as it is to not win a lottery, let alone have any numbers match, a larger prize is enticing! Lotto Texas grew to $5.5 million, and Powerball leap to $30 million.

Mega Millions Dusts Off

In case you haven’t heard, the beastly Mega Millions jackpot was struck down this past Friday. Someone from Michigan came out very wealthy!

The natural order, of course, is for the jackpot to reset. It’s also the natural order for the jackpot to climb back up and get knocked down again, as it were.

After being dealt a powerful blow, Mega Millions had the strength to get back up again. With none of the players picking the six winning numbers, the prize grew to $25 million. Not nearly as high as one billion dollars, but it’s definitely a hearty prize!

For Lotto Texas, it meant a jackpot that rose to $5.25 million. For Powerball, well…Powerball was pushed back down. Thanks to a player from New Jersey, the prize remained at $20 million.

Will a {3-2-1} Pattern streak be established in Lotto Texas in the coming week, and will Powerball’s jackpot get another smackdown?

From Michigan, a Mega Millions (Jackpot) Slayer

Mega Millions had a good run. From September to January, the jackpot was nourished by the tears, anguish, and profanities of frustrated players. Then, on January 22, 2021, a lone player from Michigan looked that lottery dead in the eye and won that billion-dollar jackpot. Naturally, the prize reset itself to $20 million.

The Lottery Double Reset

Powerball’s growth came to a halt January 20, 2021. A lone player from Maryland brought the $730 million jackpot to its knees. Naturally, the prize reset itself to $20 million.

There was a ripple effect. Lotto Texas was also brought down. It didn’t have as far to fall, though. The prize there was reset to $5 million.

There’s a good chance Mega Millions will cross the $1 billion threshold sometime before Friday. Who will be the one to take down the beast?

Sturdy Jackpot Foundation

A lottery jackpot is much like a house. Over time, the foundation wears away and if not shored up, the house collapses. Winning the jackpot is like knocking the house off its foundation. Unlike actual houses, lotteries can rebuild with every reset, so long as said lotteries continue to exist.

There were no signs of collapse in either Lotto Texas or Powerball January 16, 2021. Powerball, like Mega Millions, got closer to a billion-dollar jackpot. With the players thwarted yet again, the prize grew to $730 million. Lotto Texas remained respectable and quietly rose to $5.5 million.

We’re halfway through January and Powerball has yet to fall. As it goes with lotteries, such a fall is inevitable, and this one is going to be massive! Will it happen next week, or will Powerball’s jackpot become a member of the Billion Dollar Club?

On the Road to $1 Billion

One September evening, there was a Mega Millions jackpot. Being worth $20 million, it was the leftover seed from a previously claimed jackpot. This was the nature of Mega Millions.

Over the months, the jackpot grew larger and stronger. Word of the jackpot’s size, and difficulty winning it, spread far and wide. As more got into the lottery playing spirit, the harder it got to bring down the Mega Millions prize. Add January 15, 2021 as yet another night when players got thwarted once again. As a result, the prize rose to $850 million.
