Jackpots Ride Again!

Salutations again, Lotterytrend fans! This is guest blogger Romulun Harris, filling in for Freyja Harris, and giving you the latest updates in Lotto Texas and Powerball.

As the 19th anniversary of that dreaded September 11 attack passes and the COVID-19 fiasco continues, we find Lotto Texas and Powerball marching on as their jackpots again gained momentum. Lotto Texas carried artillery worth $41.25 million while Powerball had even heavier artillery worth $94 million.

“Spreading the Jackpot Madness” or “The Inner Workings of Lottery Society”

The lottery world has always been a strange place. Numbers are the dominant species, and clout is in the form of jackpot size. The larger your jackpot, the higher your status.

In this strange world, Lotto Texas has gained clout, and is determined to hold on to it. With the help of a rarely seen Pattern and a similar spread, this lottery cemented itself in high society. The jackpot climbed to $34.25 million.

Powerball’s jackpot rises and falls, like jackpots are wont to do. However, it could reassure itself that it was of a “better” stock than that Lotto Texas! Well, Powerball was able to continue its climb upward. With no grand prize winner, the jackpot there ascended to $29 million.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

August 19, 2020 saw the 63rd appearance of the {5-1} Pattern with winning numbers 20, 24, 29, 31, 33 and 51.

From the pages of a rare {5-1} Pattern. Source: lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern has now played in 3.53% of the 1787 Lotto Texas drawings and was last seen March 28, 2020.

Now with 11 appearances, the 0 5 1 Specific Order has played in 17.5% of the 63 drawings where {5-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 1787 drawings have been taken into consideration, this Specific Order has played 0.62% of the time. Prior to Wednesday night, the 0 5 1 Specific Order was last seen March 25, 2017.

Similar Spread

The spreadfor August 19th was 04:05:02:02:18. On March 19, 2008, numbers 17, 35, 40, 42, 46 and 48 had a spread of 18:05:02:04:02. Differences between the numbers that played were the same, yet the orders in which they played on those nights were different. Now, some lotteries may gripe, saying this was a case of try-hard, but a similar spread was a touch of class. Who classier than Lotto Texas?

Four-Number Combinations

Of course, Lotto Texas wasn’t done. There were also two repeating Four-Number Combinations!

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Powerball decided to go in the opposite direction and play a commonly seen Pattern, its most common Pattern, to be precise. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 194th appearance with 13, 23, 47, 55, 58 and PB 23.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Repeating Three-Number Combination 47, 55 and 58 debuted December 1, 2018.

While it is nice to be at the top, it would do Lotto Texas good to remember that the bigger they come, the harder they fall. It doesn’t take much effort for Powerball to rise to the $30 million+ range. Will Lotto Texas continue its time in the lottery high society, or will it feel the sting of a captured jackpot and the painful crash?

#LTX&PBKeepYourselvesAtHome

Saturday came and went, and would you believe that it was even quieter? The grand prizes in Lotto Texas and Powerball went unclaimed once more March 28, 2020, with jackpots rising to $10.25 million and $170 million, respectively.

Lotto Texas and Powerball will have the honor of ushering in April. Will they shower us with Pattern encores and other wild plays or take us for April fools?

Wednesday Night Streak Smashers

It’s a fact of life in the lottery world that some Patterns don’t get as much play as others. Sometimes, when those uncommon Patterns play, they leave a big impact.

This past Wednesday night saw the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern streak come to an end in Powerball. Likewise, the {3-2-1} Pattern streak of Lotto Texas was over before it could even start. All that was left were jackpots that rose to $60 million and $6.5 million, respectively.

Could either the {3-1-1-1} of Powerball or the {5-1} of Lotto Texas do the unbelievable and make an encore Saturday night?

The Playback Zone

Of the many lottery-related phenomena covered in Lottery Binge, the playback is quite the character. It shows up when the Pattern, General Order (not applicable to Lotto Texas), and Specific Order all played together on a previous date. The obvious one is the Australia Play, where the Pattern, General Order (again, not applicable to Lotto Texas), and Specific Order were the same, like the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order in Lotto Texas. What about the playbacks that aren’t so obvious?

All this week, there have been several posts on the playback. At least one was seen in Mega Millions recently and our last Lotto Texas post covered an Australia Play. The playback seen on April 13, 2019 brought one Lotto Texas winner $15.75 million. This knocked the prize down to $5 million going into Wednesday.

Powerball’s jackpot, meanwhile, rose quietly to $118 million.

General Lottery Analysis

Alright, Powerball wasn’t entirely quiet. As a playback happened in Lotto Texas, there were rumblings of a Pattern streak. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern went for the three-peat with winning numbers 4, 17, 26, 32, 49, and PB 10, bringing its number of appearances up to 134.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Along for the ride were two repeating Three-Number Combinations:

There don’t appear to be any “monstrous” jackpots going into next week. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in Powerball is just as fond of Pattern streaks as the one in “sister” Mega Millions, so it’s something to keep an eye for. Will that Pattern streak solidify Wednesday night, or will another Pattern take the reins?

Three-Quarters In

Three-quarters.

That’s 75%.

March 23rd is roughly the three-quarter mark of the month. Perhaps it was fitting that the result of Saturday night’s Powerball drawing is a grand prize now worth $750 million. That’s three-quarters of a billion dollars!

Lotto Texas held on strong. With no grand prize winner, $12.25 million will be up for grabs Wednesday.

The only thing that’s certain going into next week is that there’s a crazy-large jackpot in Powerball. Wednesday could see that prize being won or the prize growing once again. That {2-2-1-1} Pattern is one of the most common. Will there be a three-peat?

New Year’s Delicacies: Lotto Texas and Powerball Edition

January 2nd is often a bummer. Many people head back to work and school* and it’ll be a while before another big holiday comes around.

*Not applicable to the Southern Hemisphere, where it’s summer

This year may be better than most, for the second day of 2019 fell on a Wednesday. Not only is that a shorter work week, it’s lottery night! Lotto Texas and Powerball greeted the new year with rarely-seen plays. In fact, those very plays were responsible for the grand prizes growing to $11.25 million and $69 million, respectively.

Powerball held off on the repeating Three-Number Combinations.

The year is off to a quiet start for Lotto Texas and Powerball. Will Saturday night be a mellow one, or will there be a shakeup?

Lotto Texas and Powerball’s Attention-Grabbing Patterns

The biggest story of Lottery Binge this summer has been Mega Millions. This lottery’s grand prize has soared into the stratosphere and is close to half a billion, yes billion dollars! Even though Mega Millions has had the lion’s share of buzzworthy news, Lotto Texas and Powerball are not down for the count. After July 21st, Powerball is feeling the urge to rise, and its jackpot is now $147 million. Lotto Texas isn’t likely to see a prize that large anytime soon ($12.25 million ain’t too shabby), but it had its own way of generating buzz—throwing a rarely-played Pattern into the ring.

Mid-Month Breather with a Side of Uncommon Patterns

Lotto Texas and Powerball followed Mega Millions’s lead on June 16th. They took a break. This break, along with rising jackpots ($7.25 million for Lotto Texas and $151 million in Powerball), is like watching an engaging drama. The real start of summer is June 20th (or 21st), and all the biggest plays don’t—can’t—happen just yet. Give too much away, and people will tune out. Suspense must also be built, and at the same time, there should be breather periods where the audience can catch their breath.

The Great Lottery Gifting

First, we’d like to wish our readers a Merry Christmas! December 23rd was a busy night. Whether it was wrapping up last-minute shopping, or partaking in Festivus activities in the “real world”, Lotto Texas and Powerball had something for everyone. Who could say “No” to Pattern encores, rare Patterns, and repeating Combinations, of both the Four-Number and Three-Number kind?

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

The {5-1} Pattern, one of the rarest Lotto Texas Patterns, made its 55th appearance, with winning numbers 8, 22, 23, 29, 34, and 36.

Out of the 1510 drawings, this Pattern has played in 3.64% of them, and was last seen in the November 18th, 2017 drawing.

Now with 15 appearances, the 1 5 0 Specific Order has played in 27.3% of the 55 drawings where the {5-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 0.99% of all 1510 drawings. Prior to Saturday, the 1 5 0 Specific Order was last seen in the August 5th, 2017 drawing.

Four-Number Combination(s)

What makes looking at the repeating Four-Number Combinations fun is finding the ones that made their debuts in the last decade. Here were two of them:

  • 22, 29, 34, 36 (Debuted August 15th, 2001)
  • 8, 22, 23, 29 (Debuted March 12th, 2008)

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Like the {3-1-1-1} Pattern in “sister” lottery Mega Millions, Powerball’s {3-1-1-1} Pattern got a bit of that “Encore Fever”. This time, the winning numbers were 1, 3, 13, 15, 44, and PB 25, bringing the number of appearances to 45.

Given that there have been 232 Powerball drawings to date, this Pattern has played 19.4% of the time.

The [3-1-1-1] General Order made its 11th appearance Saturday night. With that said, it has now played in 24.4% of the 45 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. When taking all 232 drawings into account, this General Order has played 4.74% of the time. We last saw the [3-1-1-1] General Order in the October 11th, 2017 drawing.

Now with two appearances, the 3 1 0 1 0 1 Specific Order has played in 18.2% of the eleven drawings where the [3-1-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has now played in 4.44% of the 45 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.86% of all 232 drawings. The 3 1 0 1 0 1 Specific Order made its debut in the January 11th, 2017 drawing.

Here’s something that will add some more spice to your wassail: Pay close attention to the numbers that played that evening. The winning numbers in that drawing were very close to the winning numbers that played Saturday. They were 1, 3, 13, 16, 43, and PB 24. It’s part of the very reason why Lottery Trend exists!

Three-Number Combination(s)

To add to the bounty of gifts, there was a Three-Number Combination that played three times! That Combination was 1, 3, 13. It made its debut in the same January 11th drawing we just talked about, and it was last seen in the October 11th, 2017 drawing.

Now we come to the real home stretch. Next week is the last week of 2017. Can Lotto Texas and Powerball top Saturday night’s results?
