What to know what else happens on Black Friday? Mega Millions. If you chose to partake in this lottery this past Friday night, you wanted that crazy large prize. It would’ve made a fantastic Christmas gift, that’s for sure! But, thanks to the wonders of a Pattern encore, no one could claim the jackpot. But if you’re a fan of prizes that exceed a quarter of a billion dollars, then $266 million should be right up your alley!

Roasted Playback & Encore Gravy

Thanksgiving Eve is undoubtedly one of the busiest days of the year. Be it braving the roads (or skies) or making that last-minute trip to the store, there’s hardly a dull moment!

Lotto Texas and Powerball were making their own Thanksgiving preparations. They spent the evening roasting up a Pattern playback, with a Pattern encore for dressing. The side dishes were repeating Four-and Three-Number Combinations, and for dessert, rising jackpots. Lotto Texas offered up a jackpot that rose to $9.75 million while Powerball’s was a prize that climbed to $110 million.

Mega Millions’ Short Stint

In our last Mega Millions post, we were giving our good friend Mega Millions a pat on the back. After several months of “near playbacks”, a true one finally happened that Friday night. How cool it would’ve been to see another one in the November 26, 2019 drawing! Nothing like making up for missed opportunities, right?

Well, it just so happened that Mega Millions fell back into old habits. Another “near playback” greeted the players and with that, the jackpot ballooned to $243 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The Pattern streak held strong in Lotto Texas, helping to propel its jackpot to $9.25 million. Although there was no Pattern streak for Powerball, its prize climbed to $100 million.

Back in the Playback Club

It finally happened.

After several drawings of close calls and other lotteries seeing them, Mega Millions saw a playback! We’re not sure what got Mega Millions in the playback spirit. Maybe it wanted to kick off the Thanksgiving part of HallowThankmas with a big play. Maybe it too missed being in the good graces of a playback. Whatever the reason, the jackpot rose to $226 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern made it all possible, with winning numbers 7, 12, 17, 49, 53, and MB 24. This Pattern has now played 142 times.

Beware of Lotteries Bearing Encores

A Pattern encore is a gateway to many things. The foundation of a Pattern streak, perhaps, or a means of boosting a lottery’s jackpot? Sometimes, an encore is ”just” an encore.

Lotto Texas and Powerball combined saw all of the above. It was the power of the Pattern encore that sent the jackpots to $9 million and $90 million, respectively. Of course, the encores weren’t the only gifts the lotteries offered. ‘Tis the season and all.

Pattern, Pattern, Four Times More

Thanksgiving is a little less than two weeks away and Christmas is even further in the future, decorations and pre-Thanksgiving holiday parties aside. The natural thing to do, at least for Lotto Texas and Powerball, is to hold off on any big plays. For the most part, that’s exactly what happened this past Saturday night. A Pattern four-peat sent the prize in Lotto Texas to $8.75 million. Powerball saw no such thing, but one wasn’t needed to push the jackpot to $80 million.

Powerball saw no need to tackle repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Lotto Texas has a streak going with its {3-2-1} Pattern. Whether that streak continues next week is something to keep an eye out for. Powerball may need to be added that “Watch out”  list, too. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern is also fond of making repeat appearances…

Mega Millions and the Trusty Encore

For those of you out there clamoring to see a playback in Mega Millions, this past Friday didn’t deliver. Rather than focus on the negatives, we’re going to focus on the positives. It’s the weekend after all, and Mega Millions didn’t skimp out on other goodies! This lottery saw an encore not just with the Pattern, but the General Order as well. Throw in a repeating Three-Number Combination and this proved enough madness to send the jackpot to $192 million.

A playback may not be in Mega Millions’ future anytime soon, but a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern three-peat might be! This Pattern is the most commonly seen in Mega Millions and it’s fond of trying to get Pattern streaks going. Going into next Tuesday, we’ll need to keep an eye out for a Pattern three-peat and whether the jackpot crosses the $200 million threshold.

A Three-Peat and a Spread Start a Fire

Nothing like a nice cup of hot tea on a brisk autumn day to warm up, right? Oh, you’re not the tea type? Perhaps you’re a coffee fiend, or a cocoa connoisseur, or going straight for the bourbon? Whatever your drink preference, you just want to sit by the fire with your buddies or, even better, get away from it all with a trip to Florida or the Caribbean. But, to make that dream come true, you need the money for that trip. Or, even better, enough to retire to Florida or the Caribbean! And, why not win it all in one night?

Except, Lotto Texas and Powerball didn’t play nice Wednesday night. In fact, they got a kick out of perplexing players far and wide. The grand prizes went unclaimed in both lotteries. Powerball had the most fun, toying with a similar spread and all, not to mention the debut of a Specific Order. All that led to a prize rise to $70 million. Lotto Texas didn’t stand idly by; its {3-2-1} Pattern three-peat made the climb to $8.5 million possible.
