Mega Millions’ Streak-less Sendoff

A Pattern streak would’ve been an impactful way to end August. After all, this is the (unofficial) last weekend of summer. What better way to kick off the Labo(u)r Day weekend than a Pattern streak?

Mega Millions had other plans in the August 30th, 2019 drawing. Instead of a Pattern streak, or even an encore, it went with an uncommonly played Pattern. This had the effect of propelling the prize to $137 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-2-1} Pattern made its 21st appearance with 3, 9, 11, 34, 39, and MB 10.

The [3-2-1] General Order, now with 11 appearances, has played in 52.4% of the 21 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 493 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 2.23% of the time.

Both the {3-2-1} Pattern and the [3-2-1] General Order were last seen in the July 26th, 2019 drawing.

Now with two appearances, the 3 0 2 0 0 1 Specific Order has played in 18.2% of the 11 drawings where [3-2-1] was the General Order. This Specific Order has also played in 9.52% of the 21 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.41% of all 493 drawings. We first saw the 3 0 2 0 0 1 Specific Order April 21st, 2017.

Autumn is right around the corner. That means pumpkin spice lattes and…Halloween. That Mega Millions prize is a robust size. Will it achieve a beastly size come September’s end or will it be mowed down?

The World According to Lotto Texas (and Powerball)

Lotto Texas dominated the lottery landscape August 28th, 2019. The winless streak continued as the prize climbed to $18.25 million. What made this lottery stand out Wednesday night was that it had

  • An encore
  • A playback
  • A similar spread
  • A repeating Five-Number Combination
  • Seven repeating Four-Number Combinations

Seriously, it was like Lotto Texas had this checklist of “Awesome Ways to End the Month” and had a field day!

Powerball had its own brand of insanity. A Specific Order debut and a couple of  repeating Three-Number Combinations may seem like small potatoes, but that was enough to propel the grand prize to $70 million.

Four X 3 (Number Combination)

In an amazing twist of events, Mega Millions was host to a special repeating Three-Number Combination. So special, in fact, that it played four (yes, four) times! First things first, though: We need to discuss the actual August 27th, 2019 drawing. Tuesday night didn’t produce an Australia Play encore this time. However, there was a rising jackpot. No grand prize winner meant a prize that climbed to $113 million.

The Circle of Rising Jackpots

Lottery jackpots have their own cycle. They rise, get claimed, then reset, and the cycle repeats ad infinitum. This summer has seen one lottery’s jackpot get claimed twice and another that has kept rising full steam ahead. Surprisingly, it has been Powerball with the claimed prizes, and Lotto Texas flirting with unleashing a beast!

That trend continued August 24th, 2019. Now, $18 million doesn’t seem that much compared to either Mega Millions or Powerball (both reset at $40 million) but (a) this is the largest that Lotto Texas has been in a while and (b) you wouldn’t really turn down that money if you won it (be honest!). Powerball’s jackpot rose graciously to $60 million.

August is winding down. That means full-on school mode and hopefully cooler temperatures on the horizon. Will Lotto Texas and Powerball follow suit with a cool down, or will the jackpot rise continue?

August-Flavored Australia Play

August is almost over and it has been anything but boring for Mega Millions. As the schools opened their doors once again, things continued to get wild in the lottery world. There was a shakeup for Mega Millions in the August 23rd, 2019 drawing and the prize leapt up to $103 million.

August Sweeps

August isn’t so boring after all. For Lotto Texas especially, it’s been one hell of a ride! Nothing could bring it down and the aftermath was a jackpot that leapt upwards to $17.25 million.

Now, Lotto Texas wasn’t the only one wild and out August 21st, 2019. Powerball gained the courage to do something quite daring. This risk paid off for it, as players failed to pick all six winning numbers. The prize climbed to $50 million as a result.

{2-1-1-1-1} Pattern: Take 3 (Also known as Tuesday)

An interesting phenomenon has taken place this August. No, we’re not talking about the Perseid Meteor Showers. This phenomenon is only noticeable when the hood is popped open.

The August 20th, 2019 Mega Millions drawing played host to an unusual “three-peat”. This term is normally reserved for whenever a Pattern plays three times in a row. So far this month, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played every Tuesday! What moved it to claim Tuesdays in August is anyone’s guess. All we know is that the prize rose once more to $90 million.

The Lottery Flip-Flop

We have a sleeper on our hands.

Lotto Texas, the “classiest” of the lotteries covered on Lottery Binge, has tended to its jackpot and watched it grow! After handing the players yet another thrashing, the prize climbed to $16.5 million. This has been a thing for Lotto Texas since before the summer season started. Slow and steady, indeed!

There was another side to the tale of August 17th, 2019. Powerball, certainly no stranger to crazy-large jackpots, appears to have put them to the side. Now, they’ve been growing to healthy size, but they’ve been claimed before reaching the $200 million mark.  Long Island produced the sole winner of the $149 million up for grabs. Naturally, the prize reset itself to $40 million.

Wednesday night saw them join forces and keep their respective prizes away from all who sought them. Lotto Texas continued its adventure in madness as the prize rose to $16 million.
