A Pattern Streak Here and Some Combinations There

Lotto Texas and Powerball had the joint honor of seeing April off. The last drawings of the month fell on a Saturday night and with Saturdays being big party days, why not have a blowout? Repeating Combinations were a running theme, and a Pattern streak could also be spotted in the madness. In the end, Lotto Texas’s jackpot grew to $5.75 million, and Powerball’s grew to $60 million.

Will Lotto Texas begin May with a {3-2-1} Pattern streak, and is a {2-2-1-1} Pattern encore in play for Powerball?

A Different Kind of Encore

April is almost over, which means that the other most wonderful time of the year is here. May will be here soon enough, and with it comes graduations and summer plans. Before we get ahead of ourselves, there is still one last weekend for April 2023, and one way to kick off the weekend is a Mega Millions drawing! Pattern encores and playbacks are a thrill, but even more thrilling is winning the prize. With that kind of money, and the right planning, every day can feel like a vacation! If only Mega Millions agreed Friday night.

There was an encore, though not one you’d expect. This kind of encore is another night of the jackpot growing. After Friday night’s drawing, the jackpot grew to $52 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The Pattern for April 28, 2023 was {2-1-1-1-1}. With winning numbers 18, 38, 53, 62, 64 and MB 20, this Pattern has played 368 times.

Will a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore be how Mega Millions enters May?

All Roads Point Up

Ever notice that it’s easier to tear something down than to build it up? For example, it takes several months for lottery jackpots to grow to headline-catching heights, only for them to be taken down in a single night. Both Lotto Texas and Powerball were recently forced to reset, and it’ll take time before they reach those highs again. Fortunately for them, the results of Wednesday night’s drawings were a step in the right direction!

Lotto Texas stuck with the Pattern from earlier in the week and saw the prize grow to a respectable $5.5 million. Meanwhile, Powerball opted for another path. The result was a jackpot that grew to $51 million.

Which Patterns will be the ones to boost the Lotto Texas and Powerball jackpots Saturday night?

Mega Millions at the Mercy of Change

If March comes roaring in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, then April comes in and out like a breeze! Like April, the lottery world goes through a series of changes both grand and not so grand. In fact, it’s the “not so grand” changes that can cause the biggest stirrups.

Not long ago, Mega Millions saw a jackpot reset, and has since been working on boosting the jackpot. One way to boost the jackpot is to  change up the Pattern that played, which is what this lottery did Tuesday night. This paid off handsomely, for the jackpot grew to $38 million.

General Lottery Analysis

For the April 25, 2023 drawing, an Australia Play encore was not in the cards. Instead, Mega Millions opted for a {3-1-1-1} Pattern. With winning numbers 8, 29, 46, 47, 48 and MB 12, this Pattern made its 164th appearance.

What changes are in store for Mega Millions Friday night?

Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling the Lottery Way

Thanks to Mega Millions analyst/Tuesday night blogger Romulun Harris for filling in while I was away on business!

Older readers are likely familiar with the three academic R’s: reading, (w)riting, and (a)rithmetic. There is in fact another set of R’s: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. These environmental R’s are meant to encourage people to reduce the waste that ends up in landfills by reusing products for as long as they can, and recycle any component that can be repurposed for something else. In the Spirit of Earth Day, Lotto Texas and Powerball embraced two of the three environmental R’s.

The night of April 22, 2023 meant the end of the road for the Lotto Texas jackpot. After a whopping seven months of rising jackpots, the massive prize was won by a Dallas-Fort Worth suburbanite. Of course, the prize was reduced to $5 million. Meanwhile, Powerball’s reuse of Wednesday night’s Pattern increased the jackpot to $28 million.

Presently, Mega Millions and Powerball jackpot values are $2 million apart from each other. Which one will pull ahead Monday night?

And Still They Stood

The jackpot reset in Mega Millions Friday night was a reminder that months of accumulating a massive jackpot can be wiped away in a single night. Given what’s happening with Powerball and (especially) Lotto Texas, one wouldn’t have been out of their gourd to think that at least one of these lotteries would have had a date with a jackpot reset Saturday night as well.

Lotto Texas and Powerball were able to dodge the players once again Saturday night. As Mega Millions was left to sit in the corner and tend to its wounds, these two lotteries were busy boosting their jackpots. Lotto Texas grew to an impressive $69.75 million, and Powerball grew to $235 million.
