Common Patterns, Common End

From a Pattern “eight-peat” to a jackpot that reached three-quarters of a billion dollars, 2018 was a trip. How fitting that December 29th was mostly uneventful!

Mostly?

Both Lotto Texas and Powerball ended the year on a classy note; they stuck to their most commonly seen Patterns. Also, with no grand prize winners, their respective jackpots eased upwards to $10.5 million and $53 million.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-2-1} Pattern had a three-peat with winning numbers 9, 10, 15, 20, 33, and 46. This Pattern has now played 849 times.

Three-Number Combinations

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations for Powerball. Perhaps it peeked at Lotto Texas’s playbook?

The odds of crazy-high jackpots next year look promising, what with what’s going on in Mega Millions right now. Could there be another record-breaking Pattern streak, or at least tie the one that was set this year?

Have a Happy New Year, and we’ll see y’all in 2019!

Mega Millions and the Boomerang Christmas

Despite the title, there wasn’t an Australia Play in the December 28, 2018 drawing. However, there was an encore; two in fact. The fallout of this “double encore” was a grand prize now worth $415 million. What a way to end the year!

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 9, 10, 25, 37, 38, and MB 21, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 120th appearance.

Mega Millions will most certainly ring in the new year with a bang. Could someone win the massive jackpot Tuesday night? Will the {2-2-1-1} Pattern have the honor of ringing in 2019?

Could it be both?

Gift of the Powerball

Lotto Texas and Powerball were like the Northern and Southern Hemispheres December 26th. They were polar opposites (no pun intended)! While it’s winter in New York City, it’s summertime in Sydney.

Speaking of New York City, Powerball gifted one player from Brooklyn with $298.4 million! That brought the jackpot down to a more “respectable” $40 million. Lotto Texas, ever the classy one, saw its jackpot ease on upward to $10 million.

Given the nature of the Australia Play, that means the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order, and 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order have played 23 times. The last Mega Millions drawing of 2018 will take place Friday. It’s a certainty that the year will end with a monster jackpot. What’s not certain is whether someone will claim the prize or if the monster will be what starts the new year. And if nobody wins Friday night, what else could Mega Millions have in store?

And the (Jackpot) Climb Goes On

It’s hard to believe, but it’s here: Christmas! Or as close to it as Lotto Texas and Powerball are going to get!

December 22nd would be the last pre-Christmas drawing for both lotteries. The grand prizes still went unclaimed; Lotto Texas kept it classy with its now $9.25 million prize. Powerball, on the other hand, got wild, soaring upwards to $294 million!
