The Aussie Bounce and Playback Pounce

May 29th played host to Lotto Texas and Powerball’s last drawings for the month. As thrilling as it would have been to see the Powerball jackpot beast be toppled, it wasn’t meant to be. One could argue that what happened Wednesday night was just as exciting, if not more. Sure, the prizes in Lotto Texas and Powerball respectively climbed to $6.75 million and $350 million, but how often do you see playbacks join forces to thwart the players?

With 1659 Lotto Texas drawings, the Australia Play has shown up in 13.9% of them and was last seen May 8, 2019. Given how joined at the hip the Pattern and Specific Order were (it is the nature of the Australia Play in Lotto Texas after all), you could say that this was the ultimate playback!

Of the 381 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played 20.2% of the time.

The [1-3-1-1] General Order, now with 21 appearances, has played in 27.3% of the 77 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has also played in 5.51% of all 381 drawings.

Now with three appearances, the 1 0 3 0 1 1 Specific Order has played in 14.3% of the 21 drawings where the General Order was [1-3-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in roughly 3.90% of the 77 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.79% of all 381 drawings.

The {3-1-1-1-1} Pattern, [1-3-1-1] General Order, and 1 0 3 0 1 1 Specific Order were all seen together in the April 24, 2019 drawing.

Three-Number Combination(s)

The Powerball playback didn’t come alone. There were three repeating Three-Number Combinations!

The double playback action has Lotto Texas and Powerball fired up for June. On one hand, we all want to win, especially that crazy-high jackpot. On the other hand, we’re all asking in the back of our minds “How high can Powerball go?”

Will Lotto Texas and Powerball continue to run on their momentum or will at least one of them start June with their sails deflated?

The Monster Is Due on Mega Millions

For those of you who watched the original Twilight Zone, chances are you’ve seen the classic episode “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street”. To those who haven’t, or don’t remember it, here’s a brief, spoiler-ish summary: Strange things happened on the titular street and neighbor turned against neighbor, accusing each other of being aliens. Stranger still is that there were aliens, and they were manipulating the residents. All part of a test round for their invasion of Earth.

A fuller (better) summary can be found here.

Now, there isn’t any nefarious plot to take over the world with lottery (that we know of), but something otherworldly has taken hold in Mega Millions. In fact, we can say that it’s monstrous! The beast got another hold of life thanks to a “double encore” that took place in the May 28th drawing. Mild spoiler: the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore. Its encore buddy will be revealed later in this post. The duo powered up and gave the prize another growth spurt, leaving it at a staggering $444 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore was made possible by winning numbers 9, 21, 34, 42, 50, and MB 21. This Pattern has now played 204 times.

Of the 466 Mega Millions drawings to date, this Pattern has played in 43.8% of them.

Accompanying the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern on this encore train was the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order. With its 54th appearance, this General Order has now played in 26.5% of the 204 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has also played in 11.6% of all 466 drawings.

Both the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern and the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order were last seen May 24th, 2019.

Now with eleven appearances, the 1 1 2 1 0 1 Specific Order has played in 20.4% of the 54 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-2-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 5.39% of the 204 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 2.36% of all 466 drawings. The beast lives to rampage through another Mega Millions drawing. With Friday being the last drawing for the month, we wait with baited breath, wondering if the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern ends with a three-peat and/or if the prize is won.

Of Shattered Streaks and Jackpot Beasts

Lotto Texas had some of the biggest upsets this past Saturday night. The {3-2-1} Pattern, having already played three times in a row, did not go on to a fourth appearance. With the King of Lotto Texas Patterns knocked off the throne, the prize rose to a respectable $6.5 million.

Meanwhile, Powerball found itself getting acquainted with not just a Pattern encore, but a General Order encore as well! The beast of a jackpot continued its rampage unabated. It happily welcomed a growth spurt and shot up to $325 million.

What all was responsible for the madness that took place May 25, 2019?

This Pattern has played in 142 of the 380 Powerball drawings.

The [2-1-1-1-1] General Order was also struck with a case of “Encore Fever”. Now with 39 appearances, this General Order has played in 27.5% of the 142 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 380 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 10.3% of the time.

Both the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern and the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order played May 22, 2019!

Now with six appearances, the 2 0 1 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 15.4% of the 39 drawings where the General Order was [2-1-1-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 4.23% of the 142 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 1.58% of all 380 drawings. With May nearly done, Powerball has the jackpot momentum going for it. Wednesday will be the last drawing of the month for both lotteries and it remains to be seen if Powerball will surge onward to June or if the prize will be claimed. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern is fond of Pattern streaks, or at least trying to establish them, so a three-peat is something we’ll need to keep an eye on.

Lotto Texas, the ever-so-quiet one, can’t be counted out. The prize is nothing to sneeze at and it’s possible that the {4-2} Pattern may well surprise us!

Mega Millions’ Change of Plans?

Maybe it was due to the long holiday weekend. Perhaps it was because Mega Millions wanted the beastly jackpot to continue its rampage for a bit longer. Whatever the reason, the idea of a {3-1-1-1} Pattern encore got tossed in the trash for the May 24, 2019 drawing. Besides, making the prize rise to $418 million is more fun, for Mega Millions at least. A look at the analysis for Friday night will shed some light on why.

General Lottery Analysis

This lottery took back the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, and given the history between the two, it wasn’t all that surprising. With winning numbers 14, 41, 44, 56, 62, and MB 10, this Pattern has now played 203 times.

The [1-1-2-1-1] General Order, now with 53 appearances, has played in 26.1% of the 203 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 465 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 11.4% of the time. Prior to Friday night, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order played February 8, 2019.

Now with 14 appearances, the 1 0 1 2 1 1 Specific Order has played in 26.4% of the 53 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-2-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 6.90% of the 203 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 3.01% of all 465 drawings. The 1 0 1 2 1 1 Specific Order was last seen January 29, 2019.

Four-Number Combination(s)

Even with a brief absence, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made a big return with a repeating Four-Number Combination!

Three-Number Combination(s)

Of course, with a repeating Four-Number Combination, you’re going to have four repeating Three-Number Combinations nestled inside:

  • 41, 44, 56
  • 41, 44, MB 10
  • 41. 56, MB 10
  • 44, 56, MB 10

All these Combinations debuted in the earlier-mentioned August 12, 2016 drawing. These weren’t the only Combinations of the night, not by a long shot!

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern may have returned this past Friday night, but if it has dreams of finishing out the month, the best it can do is a three-peat. May looks to have a blockbuster finish, regardless. Still, inquiring minds want to know: Will the jackpot hit a ceiling next week or will it burst through into June?

Three-peats and Terrors

Monsters of the “number-y” kind were unleashed upon the world May 22, 2019. Powerball’s beast of a jackpot expanded to $308 million, probably inspired by sister Mega Millions. Lotto Texas, ever respectable, sprouted upward to $6.25 million. That ever respectable lottery was responsible for a few terrors of its own.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-2-1} Pattern went for the three-peat with winning numbers 2, 9, 23, 37, 42, and 50. This Pattern has now played 872 times.

Of the 1657 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played 52.6% of the time. Recall that the {3-2-1} Pattern was last seen May 18, 2019.

Now with 121 drawings, the 2 1 3 Specific Order has played in 13.9% of the 872 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 1657 drawings have been taken into consideration, this Specific Order has played 7.30% of the time. Prior to Wednesday night, the 2 1 3 Specific Order played January 16, 2019.

Similar Spread

A similar spread is what happens when the difference between the numbers in two drawings are the same, but orders of said numbers are different. The spread for Wednesday night’s numbers was 07:14:14:05:08. This was similar to the spread seen on February 23, 2008. That night, the winning numbers were 2, 7, 21, 35, 43, and 50; the spread was 05:14:14:08:07.

Four-Number Combination(s)

With a three-peat and a similar spread, you’d think Lotto Texas would have its fill. There was enough room for three repeating Four-Number Combinations!

The 2 1 0 1 1 1 Specific Order was last seen November 17, 2018.

Three-Number Combination(s)

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations. The madness in Lotto Texas was enough for both lotteries.

Will a {3-2-1} Pattern streak solidify and could the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern see an encore Saturday night? Both Patterns love making repeat appearances!

Mega Millions Feeds the Beast

What a difference a night makes! This past Friday saw the return of Mega Millions’ most common Pattern. One would think that as we get closer to the end of the month (and the school year) a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern would be the perfect send-off. No better way to start off summer, right?

A {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern streak lasting through the end of May would have made a fine transition. Except, Mega Millions had other plans, plans involving a beastly jackpot. The aftermath of the May 21, 2019 drawing was a beast that now looms over the players at an impressive $393 million.

General Lottery Analysis

A holiday weekend is coming up Stateside and there’s a monster jackpot up for grabs. Will the beast grow once more Friday night, or will someone take it down?

The Jackpot Wave

Two things have risen this month: temperatures and lottery jackpots! If the results for May 18, 2019 are anything to go by, rising jackpots will continue to be in the forecast for the foreseeable future. They’ll come back down, eventually, but for now, a watch for Lotto Texas and Powerball is needed.

Powerball’s prize dwarfed that of Lotto Texas, but that’s to be expected. Even with its $288 million up for grabs Wednesday, it didn’t compare to Lotto Texas in the rumblings department. Save for a winner earlier this month, Lotto Texas has rebounded steadily and nicely found itself with a $6 million jackpot. Along the way, it rekindled its love for encores and playbacks.

Whether the {3-2-1} Pattern makes a three-peat appearance in Lotto Texas is something we’ll need to look for. Powerball, meanwhile, will have to make the difficult choice of knocking on $300 million or relinquishing its prize.

In the Shadow of $367 Million

Longer days and rising temperatures mean beach parties, a dip in the pool, frozen treats (lime snow cones, anyone?), and a nice cold one, or at least daydreaming about them! Summer continued to make its march while Mega Millions took a breather. Many of this month’s drawings have been the dreams of repeating Three-Number Combination lovers. They may find the results of May 17th, 2019 a bit of a downer. The $367 million prize awaiting Tuesday’s players turned the heat up, true, but it’s the Pattern within that brought the cooldown.

General Lottery Analysis

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern reigned supreme with winning numbers 5, 17, 28, 32, 63, and MB 11. This Pattern has now played 202 times.

Prior to Friday night, the 1 2 1 0 1 1 Specific Order played April 12th, 2019.

Three-Number Combination(s)

For all you fans of repeating Three-Number Combinations, I’m sorry to say that there weren’t any. Perhaps next time?

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern is fond of encores, so that’s something we’ll have to keep an eye on for Tuesday’s drawing. Encore or no, it remains to be seen if that gargantuan prize will grow once more or be claimed by at least one spunky player.

Two Cheers for Common Patterns!

The word “common” isn’t normally a word to describe a lottery. There’s nothing common about flirting with a billion dollars or a record-breaking Pattern streak, that’s for sure! Lottery analysts live for those sorts of things, you know. What is common, however, is a Pattern, or in this case, two Patterns.

We’ve reached the halfway point of the month, and to celebrate (if you can call it that), Lotto Texas and Powerball played their most common Patterns May 15th. Another, ahem, commonality, was keeping people away from the grand prizes. After Wednesday night, the jackpots rose to $5.75 million and $270 million, respectively.

Things look to heat up for at least one of these lotteries Saturday night. Both Patterns are notorious for streaks. After all, that’s part of why they are the most commonly seen! Pattern encores or no, someone is either going to walk away with the prize money or the prizes are going to continue to climb.

The 4-1-1 on 5/14

The days are getting longer and hotter, the countdown to summer has begun, and Mega Millions wants in! How do you think a lottery could mark the (near) halfway point of May?

  1. A Pattern streak
  2. A monstrously large jackpot
  3. An uncommon Pattern

On May 14, 2019, Mega Millions took a bit from (b) and a bit from (c). The uncommon Pattern threw players for a loop once again. The grand prize going into Friday night will be $339 million! Mild spoiler: This was the work of the {4-1-1} Pattern.
