Elusive Jackpots

Greetings, Lotterytrend fans. Romulun Harris here. Last night on January 30, 2023, as February approached, the jackpots of Lotto Texas and Powerball maintained their increasing momentum. Lotto Texas’s jackpot is now at $36.75 million and Powerball is at $653 million. Lotto Texas’s jackpot has been holding on since September 19, 2022-that’s over four months! Powerball’s jackpot has been going strong as well since November 9, 2022. Wow! From $20 million to $653 million in less than three months! I guess it had something to do with that won jackpot worth around $2 billion from November 7, 2022.  Anyway, on with the details.

Jackpot Strong

Something extraordinary happened in the lottery world several months ago. Mega Millions, Powerball, and even Lotto Texas got in on growing massive jackpots. Recently, the Mega Millions jackpot was cut down to size and forced into an odd cycle of rising and resetting. Meanwhile, neither Lotto Texas nor Powerball faced any obstacles Saturday night, and boosted their respective jackpots to $36 million and $613 million.

Will Monday’s drawing mean more rising jackpots, or will at least one lottery be forced to reset?

If At First You Don’t Succeed…

“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.”

We’ve all heard this saying. A bit cliché, but it drives the point home. When you fall, you got to get back up and give it another go. This saying also applies to a certain lottery that’s been stuck in a rut lately.

After watching the jackpot fall, then rise, and then fall again, Mega Millions was determined to get it rising again. And rise it did! Nothing, and no one, could stop the prize from jumping to $31 million.

Streaks Worth Preserving

Although Powerball didn’t see a Pattern streak, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore gave the jackpot a generous boost to $502 million.

While Mega Millions currently has the smallest jackpot, it won’t take much to overtake Lotto Texas for the #2 spot. There are two Lotto Texas/Powerball drawings before Tuesday. It may be that Mega Millions overtakes Lotto Texas, or even ends up having the largest jackpot! Everything now hinges on what those two lotteries have up their sleeves.

Grow, Grow, and Grow Some More

Roadblocks, setbacks, whatever you want to call them, are a fact of live. We’ve all had projects that didn’t go according to plan, or things that didn’t fall into place the way we wanted them to. For lotteries, it’s a bit more complicated. Sure, they want people to win their prizes, but not too soon. Take Lotto Texas and Powerball for example. According to them, two , three, or even four months is “too soon”.

As of the January 18, 2023 drawing, Mega Millions remained the smallest of the jackpots. Meanwhile, Lotto Texas and Powerball continued their “untouchable” jackpot streaks. As Lotto Texas, with a $33 million prize, wondered how it still had a larger jackpot than Mega Millions (for now), Powerball was pleased as punch having the largest prize at $473 million.
