With Luck, a Common Pattern

This Friday was another one of those Fridays. Yes, we’re talking about Friday the 13th! Whether you decided to take extra precautions that day (We won’t judge) or treated it like an ordinary day, one thing was constant. Mega Millions.

Why would Mega Millions change up its plans, all because humans decided a certain number that fell on a certain day was somehow unlucky? That evening was just as good as any other evening to stir up trouble, and Mega Millions did so with a commonly played Pattern. And, with a little extra help, that pushed the jackpot to $112 million.

General Lottery Analysis

May 13, 2022 saw the 331st appearance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. The winning numbers were 11, 41, 43, 44, 65 and MB 13.

The only thing constant in Mega Millions is change. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

This Pattern has now played in 42.7% of the 775 Mega Millions drawings and was last seen May 6, 2022.

The [1-1-2-1-1] General Order, now with 100 appearances, has played in 30.2% of the 331 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 775 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 12.9% of the time. We last saw the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order in the April 1, 2022 drawing.

Now with 25 appearances, the 1 0 1 2 1 1 Specific Order has played in 25% of the 100 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-2-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 7.55% of the 331 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 3.23% of all 775 drawings. Prior to Friday night, the 1 0 1 2 1 1 Specific Order played January 7, 2022.

Three-Number Combinations

The “extra help” was in the form of two repeating Three-Number Combinations:

  • 41, 65, MB 13 (Debuted December 10, 2013)

Mega Millions in “Seis de Mayo”

“Seis de Mayo?! What the heck is that?”

We all know about Cinco de Mayo, the day when people can binge on Mexican and Tex-Mex food and partake in the wonders of margaritas with little shame (here is what the holiday is about).  Cinco de Mayo translates to “Fifth of May”, or more casually, “May 5th”. What about Seis de Mayo – May 6th? Well, Sigmund Freud was born on that day in 1857, and 81 years later, the Hindenburg disaster took place.

So, what about May 6, 2022? That’s what we’re all here for, right? We’re not sure what the history books will say about that date, but we can tell you what happened in Mega Millions. The jackpot evaded capture and grew to $86 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The jackpot was able to grow with a little help from the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. With winning numbers 16, 21, 33, 52, 70 and MB 10, this Pattern has now played 330 times.

Both the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern and the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order were last seen April 29, 2022.

Pattern Encore on the Home Stretch

The last week of April is under way, and with it comes that summer itch. The days are getting longer, hotter, and the countdown to summer vacation is ready to kick off. Now, once you’re out of college, summer vacation usually feels out of reach until after retirement. Even if you have kids, a couple of weeks (at most) doesn’t compare to a couple of months!

There is a way, of course, to get those long summers back. Lotteries, like our dear friend Mega Millions, can make it so you needn’t wait several decades before you can have those vacations of yore. The catch is that you must win first, and lotteries often don’t give in easily.

Mega Millions certainly didn’t give in. Tuesday night was ripe for a Pattern encore and a jackpot that rose to $43 million.

General Lottery Analysis

April 26, 2022 was a good night for a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore. With the help of 5, 7, 19, 46, 69 and MB 2, this Pattern made its 328th appearance.

Mega Millions Taking Root

If there’s one holiday that’s underrated, it’s Earth Day. This holiday, first celebrated in 1970, is a reminder to not take our planet for granted. If it weren’t for abundant (and clean) resources, our way of life, our existence, wouldn’t be possible. Over the decades, we’ve become more aware of the impact we have, and doing more to mitigate, or even try to reverse some of the damage we’ve caused. One way to give back to the Earth (and battle climate change) is by growing trees. However, there is a different kind of tree, and although it may not help the environment much, it’s highly coveted. And Mega Millions has been nurturing one of those trees.

That tree, of course, was first planted last week. Although there was rough going, the Mega Millions jackpot was able to finally take root earlier this week. By the end of Friday night, the jackpot reached a height of $31 million.

General Lottery Analysis

From Minnesota to Tennessee, it’s a $20 Million Kind of Week

When it came to the art of thwarting lottery players, this was not Mega Millions’ week! After the massive jackpot was won on Tuesday, it reset, naturally, to $20 million. Who would have thought that after Friday night, the jackpot remained at $20 million?

General Lottery Analysis

A lone player from Tennessee had the wherewithal to play the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern on April 15, 2022, and crushed Mega Millions’ hope of raising the jackpot this week. With winning numbers 4, 17, 20, 46, 64 and MB 23, this Pattern has now played 326 times.

Lotto Texas and Powerball’s Double Playback Extravaganza

A special thanks to Romulun Harris for filling in last night at short notice. Your work is always appreciated!

A collective sigh of relief is let out on Wednesday evenings. For many workers and students, the week is halfway over, and the fog is starting to lift. Some, in kind, lift a glass to toast their making it to another midweek. Others lift a lottery ticket (or two, or three…) and play in the hopes that they won’t need to endure another week workin’ for The Man™. Often, the grind continues. It’s even more of an upset when there are two lotteries in play, and they decide to take a note from each other’s playbook.

April 13, 2022 meant not one but two playbacks! Admittedly, Lotto Texas took the “easy” route with an Australia Play, but that pushed the jackpot to $9.25 million just as well. Powerball liked a challenge, going with a different approach, which in turn boosted its jackpot to $325 million.
