Time travel is more than a science fiction staple: it’s the wish of many people. Who wouldn’t want to go back to 20 years ago and fix a blunder or fast-forward into the future to see what the world will really be like in 5,000 years? Until we develop our own time traveling DeLorean, or something like it, we’ll just have to stick with riveting tales. Or do we?
If you think about it, we’re continuously traveling through time. In fact, there’s an even more special form of time travel that happens once a year in some parts of the world, a time when all the digital clocks jump ahead one hour. Other clocks, of course, need to be manually pushed ahead. That time is Daylight Saving Time. As some grumble about losing an hour of sleep while others welcome the change, lotteries don’t notice.
