Lotteries Keep on Slipping into the Future

We went through hell and back, but we made it. The end of 2020 is finally here, and boy did Lotto Texas and Powerball end the year with a bang!

December 30, 2020 saw the appearance of a similar spread and rising jackpots. Lotto Texas grew to a respectable $7.25 million. Powerball’s beastly jackpot grew to $384 million.

Lottery Party Mix: 2020 Edition

Chex Party Mix is one of many Christmastime snacks. For those unfamiliar with Chex, it’s a cereal from the U.S. Like Rice Krispies, it appears to be more popular as the key ingredient of a snack rather than part of a complete breakfast.

Now, a party mix wouldn’t be a mix without other goodies, would it? Chex can be mixed with all sorts of things, like pretzels, marshmallows, peanuts. It’s your choice what goes into the mix!

Lotto Texas and Powerball made their own party mix December 19, 2020. One lottery saw a Pattern three-peat, and another saw a similar spread. Throw in repeating Three and Four-Number Combinations and well sir, you got yourself a lottery party mix! To make it sweeter, both Lotto Texas and Powerball received a boost in their jackpots. The respective prizes increased to $6.5 million and $321 million.

The Powerball jackpot continues soaring to great heights, and the drawing before Christmas looks to be one for the ages. Question is, will it be the jackpots growing once more, or someone winning a coveted prize?

The Ghost of October 21st

What’s Christmas without at least one reference to A Christmas Carol? Whether you’ve seen the various adaptations or read it, you know about the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. Believe it or not, this perennial Christmas classic is tied to today’s post.

Lotteries are constantly visited by the past; that’s part of their nature, and what makes Lottery Trend possible. What made December 5, 2020 interesting was the prominence of the number 21. Both Lotto Texas and Powerball were visited (haunted?) by the ghost of October 21. The visitation generated a boost to both their jackpots! Lotto Texas rose to $5.5 million and Powerball’s prize climbed to $262 million.

Similar Spread

Even though a playback didn’t happen, there was indeed a similar spread!

Saturday’s night spread was 01:02:42:05. A spread that was similar to this was spotted July 11, 2020. That night, the winning numbers were 14, 19, 61, 62, 64, and PB4. The Spread was 05:42:01:02. Note how that even though the differences between the numbers played were the same, their orders were different.

Three-Number Combinations

No repeating Three-Number Combinations for Powerball this time.

Will next week be one where Pattern streaks and similar spreads dominate, or will the lotteries have other plans?

Some Things are Not Worth Repeating

It finally happened. After 8.5 months, Lotto Texas was brought down. Oh, don’t feel sorry for Lotto Texas; it had to happen sooner or later. Although both the {3-3} Pattern and the 3 3 0 Specific Order were a hit last time, they brought about the crash of September 30, 2020 and made a lone player from Seguin much richer. Mega Millions and Powerball hugged and high-fived each other, happy that the “uppity little lottery” was put back in its place. The prize was reset to $5 million.

Amidst the chaos, Powerball held strong. With the help of an Australia Play, its position in lottery high society was maintained. The jackpot increased to $41 million.

There have now been 1799 Lotto Texas drawings, and this Pattern has played 7.95% of the time.

Now with 45 appearances, the 3 3 0 Specific Order has played in 31.5% of the 143 drawings where {3-3} was the winning Pattern. Once all 1799 drawings have been taken into consideration, this Specific Order has played 2.50% of the time.

Both the {3-3} Pattern and the 3 3 0 Specific Order were last seen September 26, 2020.

Similar Spread

What about a similar spread? That should’ve been enough to keep Lotto Texas in the good graces of lottery high society, right? No. No it wasn’t.

The spread for this past Wednesday night’s numbers was 07:05:03:08:03. This was similar to the spread from the November 1, 2000 drawing. That night, the winning numbers were 27, 30, 35, 38, 45 and 43, with the spread being 03:05:03:07:08. Different numbers played both nights but notice that the differences between numbers were the same, although in different orders.

Four-Number Combinations

A trio of repeating Four-Number Combinations were a part of the scene, one of which played twice before:

  • 4, 11, 19, 27 (Debuted March 15, 2017)
  • 4, 16, 19, 30 (Debuted March 29, 2014)

Three-Number Combinations

There was also room for two repeating Three-Number Combinations!

With Lotto Texas out of the way, Powerball can now focus on other things, like, “How long will it take to have a monster-sized jackpot?” It may a while yet but to Powerball, the natural order has been restored and all is right with the world.

As for Lotto Texas? Well, it had a taste of the high life, and it’s not going to let this setback get in the way! But we must get through Saturday’s drawing first. It isn’t likely that the {3-3} Pattern will make a three-peat, but it is 2020, after all. We’ll need to keep an eye on it!

The Grand Combination Explosion

When lotteries get into lofty positions, they’re (usually) not willing to give them up easily. Lotto Texas has had a taste of the lottery high life. What with its jackpot closer to $40 million than it ever has been in a very long time, it’s has no plans to go down so easily! And even though Powerball is no stranger to being in such a comfortable spot, it too must put up the occasional fight to prove its worth.

When you come for lotteries, you best not miss.

Except, everyone missed September 5, 2020. Both lotteries had the insane idea of lobbing at least one repeating Four-Number Combination. Lotto Texas also threw in a similar spread for good measure. Sure, the country club hall is a mess, but Lotto Texas was pleased as punch upon reaching $39 million. Powerball was content with $75 million and thought there was no way that “uppity” Lotto Texas could catch up.

Similar Spread

Saturday night’s numbers had a spread of 05:07:01:03:15. March 18, 2017 had a spread similar to this. That night, the winning numbers were 12, 15, 16, 23, 38 and 43, and their spread was 03:01:07:15:05. Different numbers played both nights but notice that the differences between numbers were the same, although in different orders. A fine specimen of a similar spread, wouldn’t you say?

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Powerball also decided to play one of its rarer Patterns. With winning numbers 15, 21, 22, 27, 47 and PB 7, the {4-1-1} Pattern made its 15th appearance.

Another rare Pattern! Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

This Pattern has now played in 2.92% of the 514 Powerball drawings and was last seen May 27, 2020.

The [4-1-1] General Order, now with seven appearances, has played in 46.7% of the 15 drawings where {4-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This Specific Order has also played in 13.3% of the 15 drawings where {4-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.39% of all 514 drawings. Four-Number Combination

This Combination debuted in the July 11, 2018 drawing.

Three-Number Combinations

Of course, that repeating Four-Number Combination had four repeating Three-Number Combinations as part of its entourage:

  • 21, 27, 47
  • 21. 27, PB 7
  • 27, 47, PB 7
  • 21, 47, PB 7

The top three Combinations made their debut in the July 11th drawing mentioned earlier. Although the last Combination in the group played on that date (naturally), its debut was January 27, 2018.

But, wait! There’s one more Combination: 15, 22 and 27 debuted June 24, 2020.

Blue and red abound! Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com

As the days grow shorter, the jackpots grow larger. Lotto Texas isn’t going to go down without a fight, and Powerball is content with the gap between them. Of course, if Powerball isn’t careful, it may find itself looking at Lotto Texas from behind. On the other hand, fate may deal Lotto Texas a bad hand, leaving Powerball to gloat as the “uppity” little lottery from down South has to start all over again at $5 million. What awaits these lotteries in the week ahead?

Aristocratic Mega Millions

Mega Millions considers itself an elite of sorts. After all, it has flirted with billion-dollar jackpots, and currently has the largest prize (Powerball and Lotto Texas are in second and third place, respectively). And, that prize grew once again. With no one selecting the six winning numbers, the jackpot ascended to $67 million.

General Lottery Analysis

Rather than opt for a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore, August 25, 2020 featured the 163rd appearance of the {2-2-1-1} Pattern, with winning numbers 8, 10, 15, 17, 57, and MB 12.

Once all 596 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 8.89% of the time. Prior to Tuesday night, the [2-2-1-1] General Order played May 29, 2020.

Now with six appearances, the 2 2 0 0 1 1 Specific Order has played in 11.3% of the 53 drawings where the General Order was [2-2-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 3.68% of the 163 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 1.01% of all 596 drawings. The 2 2 0 0 1 1 Specific Order was last seen in the August 7, 2018 drawing.

Similar Spread

Mega Millions sipped on a mint julep while offering up a similar spread. The spread for Tuesday night’s numbers was 02:05:02:40. October 18, 2019 saw something similar with its numbers. That night, the winning numbers were 18, 58, 60, 65, 67 and MB 20, with a spread of 40:02:05:02. Note that the differences between numbers was the same, yet they were in a different order.

Will Mega Millions continue to dominate lottery high society Friday night?

“Spreading the Jackpot Madness” or “The Inner Workings of Lottery Society”

The lottery world has always been a strange place. Numbers are the dominant species, and clout is in the form of jackpot size. The larger your jackpot, the higher your status.

In this strange world, Lotto Texas has gained clout, and is determined to hold on to it. With the help of a rarely seen Pattern and a similar spread, this lottery cemented itself in high society. The jackpot climbed to $34.25 million.

Powerball’s jackpot rises and falls, like jackpots are wont to do. However, it could reassure itself that it was of a “better” stock than that Lotto Texas! Well, Powerball was able to continue its climb upward. With no grand prize winner, the jackpot there ascended to $29 million.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

August 19, 2020 saw the 63rd appearance of the {5-1} Pattern with winning numbers 20, 24, 29, 31, 33 and 51.

From the pages of a rare {5-1} Pattern. Source: lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern has now played in 3.53% of the 1787 Lotto Texas drawings and was last seen March 28, 2020.

Now with 11 appearances, the 0 5 1 Specific Order has played in 17.5% of the 63 drawings where {5-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 1787 drawings have been taken into consideration, this Specific Order has played 0.62% of the time. Prior to Wednesday night, the 0 5 1 Specific Order was last seen March 25, 2017.

Similar Spread

The spreadfor August 19th was 04:05:02:02:18. On March 19, 2008, numbers 17, 35, 40, 42, 46 and 48 had a spread of 18:05:02:04:02. Differences between the numbers that played were the same, yet the orders in which they played on those nights were different. Now, some lotteries may gripe, saying this was a case of try-hard, but a similar spread was a touch of class. Who classier than Lotto Texas?

Four-Number Combinations

Of course, Lotto Texas wasn’t done. There were also two repeating Four-Number Combinations!

General Lottery Analysis

Powerball decided to go in the opposite direction and play a commonly seen Pattern, its most common Pattern, to be precise. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 194th appearance with 13, 23, 47, 55, 58 and PB 23.

The 1 1 0 2 1 1 Specific Order was last seen December 4, 2019.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Repeating Three-Number Combination 47, 55 and 58 debuted December 1, 2018.

While it is nice to be at the top, it would do Lotto Texas good to remember that the bigger they come, the harder they fall. It doesn’t take much effort for Powerball to rise to the $30 million+ range. Will Lotto Texas continue its time in the lottery high society, or will it feel the sting of a captured jackpot and the painful crash?

356 Million Reasons to Spread Out

Mega Millions certainly won’t be ending May with a Pattern streak, let alone a Pattern encore. If the results of the May 29, 2020 drawing were anything to go by, it was time to pull another tool out of the arsenal. In this case, the tool was a similar spread. That didn’t put a dent in the jackpot; if anything, it boosted the prize to $356 million!

General Lottery Analysis

Now with eight appearances, the 2 0 2 1 0 1 Specific Order has played in 15.4% of the 52 drawings where [2-2-1-1] was the winning Pattern. Note, however, that their orders weren’t the same.

Will June be the month of the monster-sized jackpot in Mega Millions?

Lotto Texas and Powerball Get Out and Go

It’s that time of year again! Summer is right around the corner, and with all that’s happened these past few months, everyone is itching to get back to some sense of “normalcy”. The easing of stay-at-home orders is scratching that itch, and what went down May 16, 2020 showed that humans weren’t the only ones who can’t bear to be cooped up for long!

Lotto Texas and Powerball put on their masks and went out and about. All that pent-up energy led to one lottery coming this close to seeing a playback, while another saw a Pattern encore and a similar spread. There were no grand prize winners produced in this madness, and the jackpots climbed once again. Lotto Texas’s jackpot rose to $16.25 million while Powerball’s jumped to $95 million.

As toilet paper remains in limited supply and people discover basic hygiene (Seriously, y’all. Wash your hands), Lotto Texas and Powerball are kicking back. They’re above such worries like soap and viruses, since they don’t get sick and all. Both lotteries thought “Throwing things to a wall and see what sticks” was a fun way to pass the time Wednesday night. Based on our analysis, a lot of things got stuck! During the cleanup process, a couple of jackpot hikes were salvaged. Lotto Texas climbed to $9.5 million while Powerball struck gold at $140 million.
