Mega Millions’ New Best Friend

After getting knocked down earlier in the week, Mega Millions was determined to get back up.

And all it took, this lottery thought, was ditching that {2-2-1-1} Pattern!

Things were looking up Friday night as the jackpot grew to $33 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The jackpot boost of August 18, 2023 was made possible by the 30th Australia Play. With winning numbers 10, 20, 29, 44, 66 and MB 11, the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order, and the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order have played in 3.31% of the 907 Mega Millions drawings. An Australia Play was last seen in the August 1, 2023 drawing.

Three-Number Combinations

With six repeating Three-Number Combinations, that Australia Play packed a powerful punch!

Will Mega Millions stick with the Australia Play Tuesday night, or will another Pattern be the one to push the jackpot upward?

That Rebooting Feeling

For good or ill, reboots have been a running theme of a good part of the 21st century so far. In fact, they seem inevitable. Although not every movie and television show get hits with the reboot bug (though some would argue, “Give it time.”), lottery reboots are inevitable. What’s more is that they happen without notice. A Wednesday night in the middle of a sweltering August is just as good as any other time for a lottery reboot to strike.

It was Lotto Texas’s turn to face the reboot music, so to speak, as the jackpot was knocked back down to $5 million. Meanwhile, Powerball’s jackpot continued unbothered, growing to $264 million.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

The jackpot reboot of August 16, 2023 was thanks to the {3-2-1} Pattern. With winning numbers 10, 14, 17, 31, 38 and 48, this Pattern has now played 1158 times. This Pattern has now played in 52.6% of the 2203 Lotto Texas drawings and was last seen August 12, 2023.

Is Powerball’s jackpot reboot coming up Saturday night, or will there be more time to spare?

That Treacherous Three-Peat

Then, on Tuesday night, August 15, 2023, that very same Pattern forced Mega Millions to reset to $20 million, again! Would you believe that Florida produced yet another Mega Millions winner?

Of Three-peats and “Three-Timing” Combinations

In addition to the whole “Gotta raise the jackpot” mindset, there was one other thing that came to mind for Lotto Texas and Powerball Saturday night: “thirds”. Yes, thirds. Once the dust settled, the Lotto Texas and Powerball jackpots rose to $16.5 million and $215 million, respectively.

Boost: E-N-C-O-R-E. Boost

Of course, that’s not how you spell the word “boost”, but that’s how Mega Millions spelled the word Friday night. After being knocked down earlier this week, this lottery was determined to get back up. To think that the Pattern responsible for the jackpot reset was the one that gave the jackpot a boost! The Mega Millions jackpot grew to a hearty $36 million.

Will the {2-2-1-1} Pattern be bold enough to make a third appearance Tuesday night?

The Art of Multi-Dipping

What is multi-dipping? Double-dipping and multitasking, sure, but multi-dipping? In this case, multi-dipping involves the presence of a Pattern that has played at least two times in a row and had a repeating Combination that has played at least three times. Multi-dipping can either boost a jackpot or bring someone great fortune. Often, as we saw August 9, 2023, it’s the former.

Of Lotto Texas and Powerball, at least one of those lotteries practiced the art of multi-dipping. However, both lotteries saw a boost in their jackpots. Lotto Texas grew to $15.75 million, and Powerball grew to $194 million.

Lotto Texas’s {3-2-1} Pattern has been known to make three-peats, and Powerball’s {2-2-1-1} Pattern is no slouch when it comes to encores, either! Is more multi-dipping in store Saturday night?

A Glass of Freshly Squeezed Mega Millions

It was caught. At long last, dear readers, the Mega Millions jackpot has been caught! After months of mayhem and hijinks, a lone player from Florida became a (pre-tax) billionaire overnight. Naturally, the jackpot was reset to $20 million, but Mega Millions did not surrender quietly.

Will the Mega Millions jackpot resume its climb Friday night, or will it be claimed once more?
