(Order) in the Mega Millions Court

Admittedly cheesy title aside, there was a stirring in Mega Millions this past Tuesday. The jackpot soared once more, resting, for now, at $285 million. Pattern-wise, a {2-1-1-1-1} three-peat wasn’t meant to be. In its place was a different Pattern that was accompanied by a Specific Order debut.

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-1-1-1} Pattern was the one responsible for blocking the three-peat and has now played 97 times. The winning numbers for December 3rd, 2019 were 23, 43, 60, 63, 69, and MB 19.

This Specific Order has also played in 1.03% of the 97 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.19% of all 520 drawings.

This Combination debuted in the November 30th, 2018 drawing.

What a way to start the month! Hard to believe, but the year (and decade, depending on who you ask) is almost over. Will these last few weeks see a monstrous Mega Millions jackpot take control?

Post-Thanksgiving Lottery Blues

November 30th, 2019 was quiet on the Lotto Texas and Powerball front. Save for a Pattern three-peat in Powerball, these lotteries decided to rest up. Just as well.

For our U.S. readers, this past Saturday was either (a) a day of resting up or (b) wanting to get a leg up on the mad dash home. Another Thanksgiving weekend has come and gone. Monday means it’s back to work, back to school, and Cyber Monday deals. Some of these travelers, we’re sure, made an appointment with Lotto Texas and/or Powerball sometime Saturday. Why sit in the traffic jams or deal with airport security if you could win enough money to have your own private jet?

Traffic jams and airport security will have to be endured for a bit longer. With none of the jackpots claimed, they rose to $10.25 million for Lotto Texas and $120 million for Powerball.

The {3-2-1} Pattern’s absence wasn’t very long-lived. With winning numbers 5, 18, 23, 24, 29, and 46, this Pattern made its 905th appearance.

Prior to the November 30th, 2019 drawing, both the [1-2-2-1] General Order and the 0 1 2 0 2 1 Specific Order played November 23rd, 2019.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Powerball didn’t want to contemplate repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Seeing as it was the Thanksgiving holiday and all, Lotto Texas and Powerball thought a break was well-deserved. It remains to be seen if this break is short-lived. The {3-2-1} Pattern resurfaced in Lotto Texas and we’ll need to keep an eye out for another Pattern streak. As for Powerball, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern appears to be gearing up for a streak; will it play again Wednesday night?

The Mega Millions Black Friday Encore Deal

It’s that time of year again! Christmas is fast approaching and when else but Black Friday can you get good deals? Okay, more good deals will be coming down the pipes but it’s Black Friday. We’re talking about the start of the Christmas season!

It would’ve made a fantastic Christmas gift, that’s for sure! But, thanks to the wonders of a Pattern encore, no one could claim the jackpot. But if you’re a fan of prizes that exceed a quarter of a billion dollars, then $266 million should be right up your alley!

Roasted Playback & Encore Gravy

Thanksgiving Eve is undoubtedly one of the busiest days of the year. Be it braving the roads (or skies) or making that last-minute trip to the store, there’s hardly a dull moment!

Lotto Texas and Powerball were making their own Thanksgiving preparations. They spent the evening roasting up a Pattern playback, with a Pattern encore for dressing. The side dishes were repeating Four-and Three-Number Combinations, and for dessert, rising jackpots. Lotto Texas offered up a jackpot that rose to $9.75 million while Powerball’s was a prize that climbed to $110 million.

Mega Millions’ Short Stint

In our last Mega Millions post, we were giving our good friend Mega Millions a pat on the back. After several months of “near playbacks”, a true one finally happened that Friday night. How cool it would’ve been to see another one in the November 26th, 2019 drawing! Nothing like making up for missed opportunities, right?

Well, it just so happened that Mega Millions fell back into old habits. Another “near playback” greeted the players and with that, the jackpot ballooned to $243 million.

While people hoped to get a head start with gathering Thanksgiving goods (or a head start with Christmas shopping), the lotteries offered up repeating Four and Three-Number Combinations. The Pattern streak held strong in Lotto Texas, helping to propel its jackpot to $9.25 million. Although there was no Pattern streak for Powerball, its prize climbed to $100 million.

Back in the Playback Club

It finally happened.

After several drawings of close calls and other lotteries seeing them, Mega Millions saw a playback! We’re not sure what got Mega Millions in the playback spirit. Maybe it wanted to kick off the Thanksgiving part of HallowThankmas with a big play. Maybe it too missed being in the good graces of a playback. Whatever the reason, the jackpot rose to $226 million.

Beware of Lotteries Bearing Encores

A Pattern encore is a gateway to many things. The foundation of a Pattern streak, perhaps, or a means of boosting a lottery’s jackpot? Sometimes, an encore is ”just” an encore.

Lotto Texas and Powerball combined saw all of the above. It was the power of the Pattern encore that sent the jackpots to $9 million and $90 million, respectively. Of course, the encores weren’t the only gifts the lotteries offered. ‘Tis the season and all.

Pattern, Pattern, Four Times More

Thanksgiving is a little less than two weeks away and Christmas is even further in the future, decorations and pre-Thanksgiving holiday parties aside. The natural thing to do, at least for Lotto Texas and Powerball, is to hold off on any big plays. For the most part, that’s exactly what happened this past Saturday night. A Pattern four-peat sent the prize in Lotto Texas to $8.75 million. Powerball saw no such thing, but one wasn’t needed to push the jackpot to $80 million.
