The Unluckiness of Tuesday the 13th

Yes, yes, the “real” unlucky date is Friday the 13th, but for Mega Millions’ {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, June 13, 2023 was an unlucky night. The streak that was running since Memorial Day weekend came to a halt. So much for that sixth consecutive drawing! However, one good thing that did come from Tuesday night’s results was a jackpot that grew to $281 million, pleasing both this lottery and the players alike.

General Lottery Analysis

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern was what ended the streak. With winning numbers 8, 10, 19, 44, 47 and MB 4, this Pattern has played 249 times. This Pattern has now played in 28% of the 888 Mega Millions drawings.

The [2-1-2-1] General Order, now with 80 appearances, has played in 32.1% of the 249 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 888 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 9.01% of the time.

Both the {2-2-1-1} Pattern and the [2-1-2-1] General Order were last seen May 23, 2023. Interestingly, this was the drawing right before the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern streak!

Now with nine appearances, the 2 1 0 2 0 1 Specific Order has played in 11.25% of the 80 drawings where the General Order was {2-2-1-1}. This Specific Order has also played in 3.61% of the 249 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 1.01% of all 888 drawings. Prior to Tuesday night, the 2 1 0 2 0 1 Specific Order played September 27, 2022.
