The Jackpot Wave

Two things have risen this month: temperatures and lottery jackpots! If the results for May 18, 2019 are anything to go by, rising jackpots will continue to be in the forecast for the foreseeable future. They’ll come back down, eventually, but for now, a watch for Lotto Texas and Powerball is needed.

Powerball’s prize dwarfed that of Lotto Texas, but that’s to be expected. Even with its $288 million up for grabs Wednesday, it didn’t compare to Lotto Texas in the rumblings department. Save for a winner earlier this month, Lotto Texas has rebounded steadily and nicely found itself with a $6 million jackpot. Along the way, it rekindled its love for encores and playbacks.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 10, 13, 20, 38, 31, and 44, the {3-2-1} Pattern made its 871st appearance.

Saturday night encore: {3-2-1} edition. Source: lotterytrend.com.

Of the 1656 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played 52.6% of the time.

Now with 144 appearances, the 2 3 1 Specific Order has played in 16.5% of the 871 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 1656 drawings have been taken into consideration, this Specific Order has played 8.70% of the time.

Both the {3-2-1} Pattern and the 2 3 1 Specific Order were last seen in the May 15, 2019 drawing. Not only was this a playback, but a double encore!

Four-Number Combination(s)

Nestled inside this double encore-slash-playback was a repeating Four-Number Combination that has played twice before: 10, 28, 31, and 44!

This Combination debuted April 27, 2002 and showed up again four years later April 29, 2006.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 105th appearance with winning numbers 2, 10, 25, 66, 67, and PB 26.

A quieter night for Powerball. Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Given the 378 Powerball drawings to date, this Pattern has played 27.8% of the time and was last seen May 8, 2019.

The [2-1-2-1] General Order, now with 32 appearances, has played in 30.5% of the 105 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 378 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 8.47% of the time. Prior to Saturday night, the [2-1-2-1] General Order played March 23, 2019.

Now with five appearances, the 2 1 0 0 2 1 Specific Order has played in 15.625% of the 32 drawings where the General Order was [2-1-2-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 4.76% of the 105 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 1.32% of all 378 drawings. We last saw the 2 1 0 0 2 1 Specific Order on December 31, 2016.

Three-Number Combination(s)

The lone repeating Three-Number Combination, 2, 66, and 67, debuted November 28, 2015.

Whether the {3-2-1} Pattern makes a three-peat appearance in Lotto Texas is something we’ll need to look for. Powerball, meanwhile, will have to make the difficult choice of knocking on $300 million or relinquishing its prize.

Mega Millions’ Playback Comeback

Before we get to today’s Mega Millions analysis, I want to once again thank Romulun Harris for filling in while I was away in Tulsa for business. If you’re in Tulsa, and you like ramen/Asian fusion, be sure to check out Yokozuna. The pork belly ramen is amazing!

I wasn’t the only one who returned May 10, 2019. Mega Millions received a visit from a Pattern that made an appearance sometime last week. That Pattern had a hand in thwarting players once again, and the grand prize rose to an astounding $316 million!

But, the Pattern can’t take all the credit; it most certainly did not act alone.

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 3, 16, 21, 61, 62, and MB 19, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 132nd appearance.

A visit from a common Pattern. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Of the 461 Mega Millions drawings so far, this Pattern has played 28.6% of the time.

The [1-2-2-1] General Order, now with 46 appearances, has played in 34.8% of the 132 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 461 drawings have been taken into consideration, this Pattern has played 9.98% of the time.

Now with five appearances, the 1 2 0 0 2 1 Specific Order has played in 10.9% of the 46 drawings where the General Order was [1-2-2-1]. This Specific Order has also played in roughly 3.79% of the 132 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 1.08% of all 461 drawings.

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern, [1-2-2-1] General Order, and the 1 2 0 0 2 1 Specific Order showed up together on May 3, 2019. Indeed, ‘twas a playback responsible for the prize rise!

Three-Number Combination(s)

The playback didn’t come alone. There were four repeating Three-Number Combinations!

  • 3, 16, 61 (Debuted September 30, 2014)
  • 16, 61, 62 (Debuted October 10, 2017)
  • 21, 61, 62 (Debuted September 29, 2015)
  • 3, 61, 62 (Debuted November 14, 2014)
A good night for repeating Three-Number Combinations! Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Perhaps Tuesday night will see a {2-2-1-1} Pattern encore, or perhaps we’ll see that monster of a jackpot rise again. One thing that’s certain is that we won’t know what’s in that Mega Millions box until we open it. The most important takeaway for a lottery is that anything is possible!

Yet Another Australia Play

Hello again, Lotterytrend fans! This is guest blogger, Romulun Harris, giving you the latest lottery updates! Lotto Texas experienced another Australia Play along with a Four-Number Combination repeat. And now the details.

And now, before I take my leave, I would like to thank Freyja Harris for this opportunity to blog to you all for these past few days while she takes care of other important business. Freyja will be back Saturday to fill in on the details while I continue my duties as analyst for lotterytrend-megamillions.com. Until the time comes again when I have to fill in for Freyja, this is Romulun Harris signing off.

¡Hola, Lotterytrend amigos! This is guest blogger, Romulun Harris, giving you the latest lottery updates. As Cinco De Mayo dawns upon us, a Pattern and General Order that last played on the same date are doing the Mexican Hat Dance while a pair of shaking maracas take the form of two Three-Number Combination repeats. And now the details.

Last night on May 3, 2019, the winning numbers for Megamillions were 8, 16, 22, 66, 68, and MB 11.

Mega Millions’ April Send-Off (Making Way for May)

It’s hard to believe, but we’re already a third of the way through 2019! That’s just eight months away from not only another year, but another decade.

But let’s focus on the here and now, shall we? April 30th marked the end of the month, naturally, and Mega Millions was there for the send-off. Nothing too grand or flashy for this lottery.

Well, there is a $252 million grand prize to keep an eye on…

General Lottery Analysis

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 130th appearance with winning numbers 24, 37, 41, 61, 70, and MB 20.

Of the 458 Mega Millions drawings, this Pattern has played 28.4% of the time and was last seen April 19, 2019.

The [1-2-2-1] General Order, now with 44 appearances, has played in 33.8% of the 130 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has also played in 9.61% of all 458 drawings and was last seen April 16, 2019.

Now with six appearances, the 0 1 2 0 2 1 Specific Order has played in 13.6% of the 44 drawings where the General Order was [1-2-2-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 4.62% of the 130 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 458 drawings have been taken into consideration, this Specific Order has played 1.31% of the time. Prior to Tuesday night, the 0 1 2 0 2 1 Specific Order played January 9, 2018.

Three-Number Combination(s)

The only thing certain is that Mega Millions will be starting May with a jackpot just above a quarter of a billion dollars. May is also the unofficial start of summer, if the theme park commercials aren’t a sign. Will the blockbuster jackpot grow after Friday’s drawing, or will the prize be claimed?

A Good Night for an Encore

April 19, 2019 marked two important holidays: Good Friday and the beginning of Passover. Given the magnitude of both these holidays and the magnitude of what happened earlier this week, it’s fitting that Mega Millions continued the trend established this past Tuesday. For starters, the grand prize rose once more and now stands at $192 million.

There was also a Pattern encore.

General Lottery Analysis

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern was liked so much that it came back for another appearance! With winning numbers 18, 25, 43, 44, 57, and MB 25, this Pattern played for the 129th time.

Some things bear repeating. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Of the 455 Mega Millions drawings so far, this Pattern has played 28.4% of the time and was last seen April 16, 2019.

The [2-2-1-1] General Order, now with 42 appearances, has played in 32.6% of the 129 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 455 drawings are taken into consideration, this General Order has played 9.23% of the time. Prior to Friday night, the [2-2-1-1] General Order played March 5, 2019.

Now with two appearances, the 0 2 0 2 1 1 Specific Order has played in 4.76% of the 42 drawings where the General Order was [2-2-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 1.55% of the 129 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.43% of all 455 drawings. The 0 2 0 2 1 1 Specific Order made its first appearance December 15, 2015.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Another trait from Tuesday night was the lack of repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Two things to look out for next week will be the jackpot and the {2-2-1-1} Pattern. This Pattern has been known to make three-peats and Mega Millions gets the itch for crazy-large jackpots from time to time. Will the three-peat happen, and will the jackpot continue to rise?

Mid-Month Malaise?

After the appearance of a repeating Four-Number (yes, Four-Number!) Combination this past Friday night, Mega Millions had two choices April 16th:

  1. Try to outdo the insanity
  2. Slip into a more “normal” routine

Mega Millions decided to grab a little from Column A and a little from Column B. Mild spoiler: There wasn’t another repeating Four-Number Combination. Compared to what we’ve seen in Mega Millions so far this month, Tuesday night was “ho-hum”. And yet, the aftermath of said ho-hum night is why $175 million is up for grabs this Friday. A Good Friday indeed!

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 11, 29, 34, 48, 54, and MB 10, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 128th appearance.

Stepping back a bit. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Of the 454 Mega Millions drawings, this Pattern has played 28.2% of the time and was last seen March 29th, 2019.

The [1-2-2-1] General Order, now with 43 appearances, has played in 33.6% of the 128 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 454 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 9.47% of the time. We last saw the [1-2-2-1] General Order February 5th, 2019.

Now with five appearances, the 1 0 2 2 0 1 Specific Order has played in 11.6% of the 43 drawings where the General Order was [1-2-2-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 3.91% of the 128 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 1.10% of all 454 drawings. Prior to Tuesday night, the 1 0 2 2 0 1 Specific Order played August 17th, 2018.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Not only was there no repeating Four-Number Combinations, Three-Number Combinations were nowhere to be found.

What’s certain as we head into Easter weekend is that a large jackpot is up for grabs. As to whether the {2-2-1-1} Pattern makes an encore will remain to be seen. Question is, will the prize be snagged or will it hop away?

End of Month Lottery Ruckus

With the end of March comes the end of the first quarter of 2019. Now, the month may be over, but neither Lotto Texas nor Powerball are going into April quietly!

There were no Pattern streaks, let alone encores, and with the monster jackpot already won, it’s tempting to let our guards down. But lotteries care not for mortal feelings! The results from March 30, 2019 were good for those who enjoy robust jackpots. With no grand prize winners in either Lotto Texas or Powerball, their respective prizes are now $13.5 million and $54 million.

Will April shower us with Pattern streaks and large jackpots, or will the second quarter of 2019 start off with something more low-key?

Out Like a {2-2-1-1} (Pattern)

March is said to come in like a lion and go out like a lamb. Not Mega Millions! The month is over, and it’s been a rollercoaster for this lottery. A {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore wasn’t in the cards March 29th, and with no grand prize winner, April will be starting with an $88 million jackpot. Even though the prize didn’t grow to the heights seen in Powerball, $88 million is none too shabby.

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 5, 14, 15, 62, 66, and MB 3, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 127th appearance.

No meekness for Mega Millions! Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Of the 449 Mega Millions drawings, this Pattern has played 28.3% of the time.

The [2-1-2-1] General Order, with 44 appearances, has now played in 34.6% of the 127 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 449 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 9.80% of the time.

Both the {2-2-1-1} Pattern and the [2-1-2-1] General Order were last seen March 8th, 2019.

Now with five appearances, the 2 1 0 0 2 1 Specific Order has played in 11.4% of the 44 drawings where the General Order was [2-1-2-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 3.94% of the 127 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 1.11% of all 449 drawings. Alas, a playback wasn’t meant to be! Prior to Friday night, the 2 1 0 0 2 1 Specific Order played November 9th, 2018.

Three-Number Combination(s)

The lone repeating Three-Number Combination was 5, 62, 66.

Not a quiet night. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

This Combination made its debut June 1st, 2018.

With no Pattern streak or a crazy-large jackpot, it seems as if Mega Millions will have a meek start to April. Far from it! The {2-2-1-1} Pattern is the second-most commonly played Pattern and the thought of it making an encore Tuesday night isn’t farfetched. Will next month be filled with Pattern streaks and a crazy large jackpot, or will Mega Millions keep its composure, relatively speaking?

Three-Quarters In

Three-quarters.

That’s 75%.

March 23rd is roughly the three-quarter mark of the month. Perhaps it was fitting that the result of Saturday night’s Powerball drawing is a grand prize now worth $750 million. That’s three-quarters of a billion dollars!

Lotto Texas held on strong. With no grand prize winner, $12.25 million will be up for grabs Wednesday.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

Even though it doesn’t have a beastly jackpot, Lotto Texas made waves with the rarely-seen {5-1} Pattern. With winning numbers 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 18, and 24, this Pattern made its 59th appearance.

Calm yet packing a punch. Source: lotterytrend.com.

Given that there have been 1640 drawings so far, this Pattern has played roughly 3.60% of the time, and was last seen January 2, 2019.

Now with nine appearances, the 5 1 0 Specific Order has played in 15.3% of the 59 drawings where {5-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.55% of all 1640 drawings. Prior to Saturday night, the 5 1 0 Specific Order played November 18, 2017.

Four-Number Combinations

There were no repeating Four-Number Combinations. Lotto Texas felt a showing from a rare Pattern was enough.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

As if the jackpot rising to three-quarters of a billion dollars wasn’t enough, it was thanks to a {2-2-1-1} Pattern encore! The winning numbers were 24, 25, 52, 60, 66, and PB 5. This Pattern has now played 102 times.

A jackpot’s growth serum! Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Given that there have been 362 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played 28.2% of the time and was last seen March 20, 2019.

The [2-1-2-1] General Order made its 31st appearance and has now played in 30.4% of the 102 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has also played in 8.56% of all 362 drawings. Prior to Saturday night, the [2-1-2-1] General Order played January 19, 2019.

Now with four appearances, the 0 2 0 1 2 1 Specific Order has played in 12.9% of the 31 drawings where [2-1-2-1] General Order was the General Order. This Specific Order has also played in 3.92% of the 102 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 1.10% of all 362 drawings. We last saw the 0 2 0 1 2 1 Specific Order August 25, 2018.

Three-Number Combination(s)

For fear of overshadowing the crazy-large jackpot, there was just one repeating Three-Number Combination: 26, 66, and PB 5.

This Combination debuted July 20, 2016.

The only thing that’s certain going into next week is that there’s a crazy-large jackpot in Powerball. Wednesday could see that prize being won or the prize growing once again. That {2-2-1-1} Pattern is one of the most common. Will there be a three-peat?
