The Proud, the Stubborn

September 26, 2020 featured strong showings from both Lotto Texas and Powerball. Having been on top for the past 1.5 weeks, Lotto Texas wasn’t ready to give that up! The players were thwarted once again, and the jackpot hit $47 million.

Meanwhile, Powerball also saw a jackpot boost. The prize jumped from $25 million to $34 million, closing the gap between the two lotteries.

It’s been exactly one week since the Powerball jackpot was won. Since that time, Powerball continues to pick up the pieces, and Lotto Texas remains on top. Will Powerball’s wish for Lotto Texas to be knocked from the top come true Saturday night, or will the lottery from down south hold strong?

At the Top and Twice as Much

Lotto Texas was in a world of its own. Powerball was forced to reset, and Lotto Texas was now on top. And, after what happened September 19, 2020, it extended its stay until at least the next drawing. The players failed once more to match all six numbers. Rather than go all out, a sliver of that old-time Lotto Texas respectability shone through. The jackpot rose to “just” $44 million.

The Uppity Lottery

Mega Millions lost some of its clout this past Tuesday night, and one lottery endured the same fate. Lotto Texas, known for being meek and respectable, became more confident as 2020 rolled on. Some would say that the lil ol’ lottery from down South got uppity. Well, if you were expecting the return of respectable Lotto Texas…it did not return.
