Mega Millions and Chill

Friday night has come at last! The job is a distant memory, until Sunday night anyway, and it’s time to get the weekend started. Something’s playing at the movie theatre, right? What about the restaurant that opened a few months ago? Nothing kicks the weekend off like a good meal.

Well, there is one thing that might rival those. Friday nights are Mega Millions nights, you know. Wouldn’t it be something to play and walk away a multimillionaire? Play your cards right (see what we did there?) and you won’t have to ever count down to the weekend again!

Unfortunately, the dream of becoming a “Friday night multimillionaire” was deferred for many. Mega Millions managed to thwart the players Friday night with little effort. Simply through the power of chilling out, the jackpot received a boost, resting at $432 million.

General Lottery Analysis

Even though Mega Millions decided to chill, September 17, 2021 was when the {2-2-1-1} Pattern came back for an encore! With winning numbers 17, 32, 40, 59, 61 and MB 18, this Pattern has now played 195 times.

There have now been 707 Mega Millions drawings, and this Pattern has played 27.6% of the time. Recall that the {2-2-1-1} Pattern was last seen September 14, 2021.

The [1-2-2-1] General Order, now with 70 appearances, has played in 35.9% of the 195 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 707 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 9.90% of the time. We last saw the [1-2-2-1] General Order August 20, 2021.

Now with nine appearances, the 0 1 2 0 2 1 Specific Order has played in 12.9% of the 70 drawings where the General Order was [1-2-2-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 4.62% of the 195 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 1.27% of all 707 drawings. Prior to Friday night, the 0 1 2 0 2 1 Specific Order played January 31, 2020.

Three-Number Combinations

Part of chilling on a Friday night is the lack of repeating Three-Number Combinations.

The last (true) day of summer is on September 21st, and Mega Millions has the honor of having a drawing. Will this coming Tuesday spell the end of the jackpot run?
