Streaks Worth Preserving

Two kinds of streaks were present Saturday night: Pattern and jackpot. Lotto Texas, still in shock at how large the jackpot has grown, had two! Both the {3-2-1} Pattern and the $33.5 million jackpot proved that neither streak were going away anytime soon. Although Powerball didn’t see a Pattern streak, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore gave the jackpot a generous boost to $502 million.

How long will the jackpots continue to rise, and how long will Lotto Texas’s {3-2-1} Pattern streak continue?

Grow, Grow, and Grow Some More

Roadblocks, setbacks, whatever you want to call them, are a fact of live. We’ve all had projects that didn’t go according to plan, or things that didn’t fall into place the way we wanted them to. For lotteries, it’s a bit more complicated. Sure, they want people to win their prizes, but not too soon. Take Lotto Texas and Powerball for example. According to them, two , three, or even four months is “too soon”.

As of the January 18, 2023 drawing, Mega Millions remained the smallest of the jackpots. Meanwhile, Lotto Texas and Powerball continued their “untouchable” jackpot streaks. As Lotto Texas, with a $33 million prize, wondered how it still had a larger jackpot than Mega Millions (for now), Powerball was pleased as punch having the largest prize at $473 million.

The Jackpot Takedown That Never Was

Mega Millions, Lotto Texas, and Powerball don’t have much in common. One thing they do have in common lately is how difficult it has been for anyone to claim their jackpots. Currently, one jackpot is worth over one billion dollars, and there’s another lottery that may be crazy enough to go for it. Meanwhile, the other lottery has  a much smaller, though just as powerful prize. Millions is millions, after all. In fact, Lotto Texas and Powerball  have much in common these days!

January 11, 2023 was a night that highlighted those commonalities. Of course, Lotto Texas and Powerball’s jackpots went unclaimed, and respectively rose to $30.75 million and $404 million. However, a funny thing happened on the way to rising jackpots.

Usually, the weather for the new year is cold. But when it comes to the Lotttery World, especially when there’s a big jackpot worth over $1 billion to be won, it’s very hot. What could become of Friday’s jackpot? Will it be won, or will it keep growing? This is Romulun Harris signing off. Stay safe!

The Power of Dogged Persistence

Either there’s a new bug going around the lottery world, or the lotteries share the same New Year’s resolution. What we’re referring to is the persistence of rising jackpots. Since the last few months of 2022, Mega Millions, Lotto Texas, and Powerball’s prizes kept rising. Mega Millions crossed the $1 billion threshold Friday, and although Lotto Texas and Powerball’s jackpots weren’t nearly as large, the hype was there all the same.

Neither the Lotto Texas nor Powerball jackpots could be brought down Saturday night. Nothing truly out of the ordinary was needed to boost their respective jackpots to $29.25 million and $340 million.

Now, some 360-odd days later, we’re happy to be rid of it. As people prepared to celebrate Friday night, Mega Millions saw a major winding down.

First, Mega Millions broke it off with the {2-2-1-1} Pattern. Second, no one was able to bring the jackpot down to size. This lottery ended its 2022 stint with a prize that easily towered above the others, a prize worth $785 million!
