After a month of going nuts over repeating Combinations, Lotto Texas and Powerball may going for another approach. That approach, dear readers, is the art of the spread.
December may have just started, but there were hints of change this past Wednesday night. A similar approach happened Saturday night for one lottery while the other went with repeating Combinations. Regardless of approach, both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw their respective jackpots grow to $19 million and $89 million.
Lotto Texas
General Lottery Analysis
The Australia Play returned for the December 3, 2022 Lotto Texas drawing with winning numbers 13, 15, 22, 32, 44 and 45. Both the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order have played 295 times.
An Australia Play has been featured in 14.1% of the 2093 Lotto Texas drawings and was last seen November 23, 2022.
Similar Spread
Lotto Texas mastered the exact art of a spread earlier in the week. Although that wasn’t present Saturday night, something similar did take place. Saturday’s winning numbers had a spread of 02:07:10:12:01. Similarly, the winning numbers from March 8, 2014, 18, 25, 35, 47, 49 and 50, had a spread of 07:10:12:02:01. With a similar spread, the differences between numbers played are the same, but their orders (and numbers played) are different.
Four-Number Combinations
There were no repeating Four-Number Combinations Saturday night.
Powerball
General Lottery Analysis
For Powerball, Saturday night’s drawing meant the 52nd appearance of the {3-2-1} Pattern, with winning numbers 6, 13, 33, 36, 37 and PB 7.
This Pattern has now played in 6.38% of the 815 Powerball drawings and was last seen November 28, 2022.
The [2-3-1] General Order, now with 24 appearances, has played in 46.2% of the 52 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 815 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 2.94% of the time. The [2-3-1] General Order was last seen August 31, 2022.
Now with three appearances, the 2 0 3 0 0 1 Specific Order has played in 12.5% of the 24 drawings where the General Order was [2-3-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 5.77% of the 52 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern and in 5.77% of all 815 drawings. Prior to Saturday night, the 2 0 3 0 0 1 Specific Order played April 15, 2020.
Three-Number Combinations
Even though Powerball cut down on repeating Three-Number Combinations, there was still room for three:
- 6, 13, 36 (Debuted March 7, 2018)
- 6, 36, 37 (Debuted August 12, 2020)
- 6, 33, PB 7 (Debuted September 21, 2022)
Both Lotto Texas and Powerball’s jackpots continue to soar, and the art of the spread seems to be making headway. Still, it’s early yet. We’ll have to see if more similar and/or exact spreads are in the cards for these lotteries, or if they’ll abandon them like fruitcake.
