Flipping the Script

There were no encores for either Lotto Texas or Powerball Wednesday night. For those of you who just love repeating Four-Number Combinations, August 16th was a special night indeed. Now, you’re probably wondering “What’s the big deal? You guys mention repeating Four-Number Combinations a lot!”

Would you believe that the repeating Four-Number Combination was in Powerball? That’s like seeing snow in Florida.

To see when this Specific Order previously played, we need to go back to the beginning of this year. More specifically, the January 7th, 2017 drawing.

Powerball

Wednesday night was Powerball’s time to shine. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, ever-so-plucky, made its 74th appearance, right after a (very) short break. This time around, the winning numbers were 9, 15, 43, 60, 64, and PB 4.

  • 43, 60, 64
  • 9, 60, 64
  • 9, 43, 64
  • 9, 43, 60

Will Saturday night have more script-flipping action?

Repeats All Around

Tuesday night was a scorcher. Although the {3-1-1-1} Pattern didn’t make an encore appearance, Mega Millions did not disappoint. The Pattern, General Order, and Specific Order all played together before. What’s more is that there were three repeating Three-Number Combinations. When was that special date? Let’s find out.

The winning numbers in the August 15th drawing were 7, 16, 20, 66, 73, and MB 7. This marked the 119th appearance of the {2-2-1-1} Pattern.

With summer starting to wind down, what will Mega Millions have in store Friday night? Will the {2-2-1-1} Pattern make an encore appearance?

Breaking Up the Streak

The {3-2-1} and {2-1-1-1-1} Patterns parted ways yet again on August 12th. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern streak in Powerball came to an end, yet the {3-2-1} Pattern made an encore in Lotto Texas. Joining the {3-2-1} Pattern were two repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Lotto Texas

With 766 appearances, the {3-2-1} Pattern continued to be the most commonly seen Pattern. Saturday night’s winning numbers were 5, 8, 16, 24, 25, and 46.

Looking to the week ahead, will the {3-2-1} Pattern go for a three-peat?

Without “2”

After a month, heck, a whole summer’s worth of streaks for the {2-1-1-1-1} and {2-2-1-1} Patterns, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern made itself known in the August 11th drawing. Believe it or not, it was this very Pattern that broke up the streak madness last time. On Friday night, it made someone in Illinois wealthier.

Friday’s winning numbers were 23, 33, 53, 56, 58, and MB 6, bringing the total number of appearances of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern to 64.

We’re nearly halfway through August and back-to-school is in full swing in many parts of Lottery Trend Country. Will the {3-1-1-1} Pattern make an encore appearance in Tuesday’s drawing?

Gettin’ Back Together

The {3-2-1} Pattern in Lotto Texas couldn’t bear to be without Powerball’s {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. After a brief breakup on Saturday, the two were seen together again the night of August 9th. The night was a special one, for the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its sixth consecutive appearance! In Powerball, at least.

Will these two Patterns mingle together Saturday night?

The Ever-Persistent Pattern

After appearing four times in a row, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has stepped aside. Lately, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern doesn’t like to go for long periods without having played. Whether it’s going to go for yet another streak is to be determined. What can be said about the August 8th drawing is that this instance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was accompanied by three repeating Three-Number Combinations.

With winning numbers 11, 17, 50, 52, 74, and MB 14, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 166th appearance.

Will the {2-1-1-1-1} be bold enough to go for an encore appearance Friday night, or will another Pattern play instead?

Going Their Separate Ways

Saturday night saw the split-up of Lotto Texas’s {3-2-1} Pattern and Powerball’s {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. In our last Lotto Texas/Powerball post, we were wondering if these Patterns were going to continue to stick together.  The {3-2-1} Pattern didn’t make an appearance Saturday night. Instead, one of the least commonly seen Lotto Texas Patterns played in its stead. Accompanying this Pattern was a similar spread and a repeating Four-Number Combination. Powerball continued onward with its {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern streak, the Pattern now having made its fifth consecutive appearance.

Lotto Texas

The August 5th drawing saw winning numbers 7, 26, 27, 29, 35, and 36, bringing the number of appearances for the {5-1} Pattern to 53.

This Specific Order has also played in 1.56% of all 192 drawings, and was last seen in the November 9th, 2016 drawing.

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern decided to go it alone, as there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Will the {5-1} Pattern make an encore appearance in Wednesday’s drawing? Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern go for a sixth consecutive appearance in Powerball?

Four Times Fourth

Mega Millions is in the grip of yet another Pattern streak! The {2-2-1-1} Pattern played for the fourth time in a row Friday night. Accompanying this Pattern were two repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Looking ahead to next week, will the {2-2-1-1} Pattern go for a record of its own, or will another Pattern smash the streak?

Partners in Crime

August began for Lotto Texas and Powerball just the way July ended. How so? The {3-2-1} and {2-1-1-1-1} Patterns have now appeared together four times in a row! Powerball’s {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was joined by a repeating Three-Number Combination.

No Playin’ Possum Here

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern streak held! Instead of ceding ground to other Patterns, this one made its third consecutive appearance in Tuesday’s Mega Millions. Did you also know that you could start the month off by catching opossums in your backyard? You’ll find out how, and why, after this analysis.

The winning numbers for August 1st were 20, 22, 52, 57, 73, and MB 7, bringing the number of appearances of the {2-2-1-1} Pattern to 117.

Remember last month’s endorsement of homegrown corn? Well, we would’ve endorsed homegrown cantaloupes except for one little problem.

Possums! Apparently, they love the smell, and taste, of sweet melons. They made a feast out of my dad’s cantaloupes, thus taking advantage of his hospitality.

We here at Lottery Binge don’t believe in, or endorse, the mindless killing of our animal brethren, so we set some humane traps.

The smaller, calmer possum.

This one was calmer, probably because she just didn’t know.

Bigger, meaner, uglier. This one was caught a day after the smaller one.

This one here, she seemed to know what was up. Just one nudge of the cage, heck, even closing the back door, sent her hissing!

Getting a kick out of a hissing possum.

No, we didn’t eat them. Instead, they were released into a park away—far away—from the house.

As anyone who has dealt with possums would know, these guys and gals can climb. A fence can only deter so much. If you don’t have a dog, or heck, even a cat, the next best thing is a humane trap. Once you’ve caught the bugger, drive around before releasing him or her back into the wild.

Will the {2-2-1-1} Pattern go for a fourth consecutive appearance, or will another Pattern grab the spotlight?
