From a Downpour to a Sprinkle

In the last Mega Millions post, we covered the ever-so-rare repeating Four-Number Combination—and the four repeating Three-Number Combinations nestled within. A storm was brewing in the June 20th drawing, and while not as intense as Friday night, there was still plenty of action. The most commonly seen Pattern made an appearance, and this time around, there were two repeating Three-Number Combinations.

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 157th appearance with winning numbers 2, 15, 41, 49, 63, and MB 3.

This Pattern has now played in approximately 41% of the 383 drawings, and was last seen in the June 6th drawing exactly two weeks prior.

Making its 39th appearance, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has played in 24.8% of the 157 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 10.2% of all 383 drawings. Like the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, this General Order previously played in the June 6th drawing.

Now with nine appearances, the 2 0 1 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 23.1% of the 39 drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, and in 5.73% of the 157 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also appeared in 2.35% of all 383 drawings, and was last seen in the February 14th, 2017 drawing.

The repeating Three-Number Combinations of the evening were

  • 2, 15, 41 (Debuted December 13th, 2016)
  • 15, 49, 63 (Debuted November 19th, 2013)

Will Friday night’s drawing see a Pattern encore? Will there be more repeating Three-Number Combinations?

Common Things

“Common” was the surface theme of the evening for June 17th. Both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw their most commonly played Patterns. Powerball’s Pattern play was also an encore this time around. Of course, there’s more to the story. Lotto Texas had two repeating Four-Number Combinations, and Powerball had one repeating Three-Number Combination.

Lotto Texas

Now with 756 appearances, the {3-2-1} Pattern showed no signs of being upstaged by another Pattern. The winning numbers Saturday night were 3, 4, 6, 23, 34, and 54.

This Pattern has played in 51.9% of the 1456 Lotto Texas drawings, and was last seen in the June 10th drawing one week prior.

Making its 131st appearance, the 3 2 1 Pattern has played in 17.3% of the 756 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern appeared, and in 8.997% of all 1456 drawings. This Specific Order previously played in the March 22nd, 2017 drawing.

The Four-Number Combinations of the evening were

  • 3, 4, 23, 34 (Debuted November 29th, 2014) and
  • 3, 6, 23, 34 (Debuted July 31st, 2002)

Once again, the range of Four-Number Combination dates ranged from the era of smartphones all the way back to the era of Blockbuster and Napster.

Powerball

Right off the heels of this past Wednesday’s drawing, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made another appearance. This time around, the winning numbers were 10, 13, 32, 53, 62, and PB 21, bringing the total number of appearances to 65.

This Pattern has played in 36.5% of the 178 Powerball drawings.

The [2-1-1-1-1] General Order made its fourteenth appearance, and has now played in 21.5% of the 65 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 7.87% of all 178 drawings. Unlike the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order did not make an encore. In fact, this General Order was last seen in the June 3rd drawing exactly two weeks prior.

Making its third appearance, the 2 0 1 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 21.4% of the 14 drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, and in 4.62% of the 65 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has played in 1.69% of all 178 drawings, and was last seen over a year ago. More specifically, the 2 0 1 1 1 1 Specific Order was last seen in the February 10th, 2016 drawing.

The Three-Number Combination of the evening was 10, 13, and PB 21, and it made its debut in the March 16th, 2016 drawing.

The next Lotto Texas and Powerball drawings will take place on the summer solstice (or winter solstice for any readers in the Southern Hemisphere). How will Lotto Texas and Powerball mark the occasion? Will a Pattern streak be established with the most commonly seen Patterns, or will things mellow out?

Getting the 4-1-1 and Then Some

After a quiet Tuesday night, Mega Millions kicked it up a thousand notches in the June 16th drawing. Friday night saw the appearance of one of the least commonly seen Patterns. While that’s a big deal in and of itself here at Lottery Binge, that wasn’t the biggest draw of the evening. There was more to this Pattern than appearing after a lengthy period of absence. What made this Pattern interesting was that this time around, a repeating Four-Number Combination made an appearance. Such a thing is a rarity in Mega Millions.

The {4-1-1} Pattern made its thirteenth appearance with winning numbers 18, 22, 26, 30, 44, and MB 9.

Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

This Pattern has now played in 3.40% of the 382 Mega Millions drawing and was last seen in the October 11th, 2016 drawing.

Making its seventh appearance, the [4-1-1] General Order has now played in 53.8% of the 13 drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.83% of all 382 drawings. Like the {4-1-1} Pattern, this General Order was also last seen in the October 11th drawing.

Now with two appearances, the 0 4 1 0 0 1 Specific Order has played in 28.6% of the seven drawings where the [4-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 15.4% of the 13 drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.52% of all 382 drawings. The 0 4 1 0 0 1 Specific Order made its debut in the September 19th, 2014 drawing. Will it be another two years and nine months before this Specific Order is seen again?

Now it’s time to discuss the biggest event of the evening: the ever-so rare repeating Four-Number Combination. The Combination of the evening was 18, 26, 30, and 44, and it made its debut in the March 15th, 2016 drawing.

Of course, there’s always more beneath the surface when it comes to these lottery things. Nestled inside a repeating Four-Number Combination are four repeating Three-Number Combinations. Here’s Part II of the big event:

A volley of repeating Four-Number Combinations. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Save for Combination 30, 44, and MB 9, all the Combinations in the list above made their debut in the March 15th, 2016 drawing.

Will there be more shock and awe in Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing?

The Flag Day Smash

There is a US holiday in June, a little holiday called Flag Day. See, it falls on June 14th every year, and it commemorates the adoption of the US flag on June 14th, 1777. It wasn’t until the mid-twentieth century that Flag Day became a holiday. As much as USians love (US) football field-sized flags, explosions, chanting “USA! USA! USA!”, and explosions, Flag Day is a low-key affair there. Keeping with the Flag Day tradition, the Lotto Texas and Powerball drawings were low-key affairs the night of June 14th. The {3-2-1} Pattern four-peat in Lotto Texas was smashed, not to mention that there were no repeating Four-Number Combinations. Powerball’s {2-2-1-1} Pattern didn’t get a chance to go for an encore, and there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations there, either. Yet, as low-key as the night was, there was an interesting development in Lotto Texas.

Lotto Texas

Wednesday night’s winning numbers were 11, 20, 37, 39, 44, and 49, bringing the number of appearances of the {4-1-1} Pattern to 159.

This Pattern has now played in 10.9% of the 1455 Lotto Texas drawings, and was last seen in the May 6th, 2017 drawing.

The 1 1 4 Specific Order has now made 54 appearances, and has played in approximately 34% of the 159 drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 3.71% of all 1455 drawings. In an interesting turn of events, the 1 1 4 Specific Order was also last seen in the May 6th drawing.

Powerball

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern remained the most commonly seen Powerball Pattern. The winning numbers this time around were 5, 22, 43, 57, 63, and PB 24.

Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com

This Pattern has now appeared 64 times, and has played in 36.2% of the 177 Powerball drawings. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern previously played in the June 3rd, 2017 drawing.

Making its 20th appearance, the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order has played in 31.25% of the 64 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 11.3% of all 177 drawings. Prior to Wednesday night, this General Order was last seen in the March 1st, 2017 drawing.

Now with four appearances, the 1 1 0 1 2 1 Specific Order has played in 20% of the 20 drawings where the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 6.25% of the 64 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 2.26% of all 177 drawings. The 1 1 0 1 2 1 Specific Order was last seen in the May 14th, 2016 drawing.

The summer solstice is nearly here. Will Lotto Texas and Powerball turn up the heat Saturday night, or will a new, low-key “streak” be established?

Holy {3-1-1-1}!

The night of June 13th was a change of pace. As the title points out, there was no {2-2-1-1} Pattern encore. Instead, an uncommonly-seen Pattern got its time to shine, and there were two repeating Three-Number Combinations.

The 62nd appearance of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern was made possible by winning numbers 27, 51, 62, 68, 75, and MB 8.

Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

This Pattern has now played in 16.3% of the 381 Mega Millions drawing, and was last seen in the May 26th, 2017 drawing.

Making its 23rd appearance, the [1-1-3-1] General Order has played in 37.1% of the 62 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 6.04% of all 381 drawings. Prior to Tuesday night, this General Order played in the January 17th, 2017 drawing.

Now with two appearances, the 0 1 0 1 3 1 Specific Order has played in approximately 8.70% of the 23 drawings where the [1-1-3-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 3.23% of the 62 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.52% of all 381 drawings. The 0 1 0 1 3 1 Specific Order made its debut in the October 6th, 2015 drawing. This was over eighteen months ago.

The repeating Three-Number Combinations of the evening were

  • 27, 51, and MB 8 (Debuted July 10th, 2015. This is nearly three months before the Specific Order of the evening)
  • 51, 62, and 75 (Debuted February 10th, 2017)

Will there be a {3-1-1-1} Pattern encore in Friday night’s drawing?

Fourth Time’s the Charm

A rare event occurred the night of June 10th. Lotto Texas saw a Pattern make its fourth consecutive appearance. Concerning more “normal” affairs, there was a repeating Four-Number Combination. Powerball may not have seen Pattern encores or repeating Three-Number Combinations, but somebody won the $447.8 million jackpot.

Lotto Texas

For the fourth time in a row, the {3-2-1} Pattern made its presence known. The winning numbers were 2, 16, 18, 21, 42, and 53.

With 755 appearances, this Pattern has now played in 51.9% of the 1454 Lotto Texas drawings, and continues to be the most commonly played Pattern.

Making its 138th appearance, the 3 1 2 Specific Order has played in 18.3% of the 755 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.49% of all 1454 drawings. This Specific Order was last seen in the June 3rd drawing exactly one week prior.

The repeating Four-Number Combination was 2, 18, 42, and 53. This Combination made its debut in the August 28th, 2002 drawing.

This Pattern has now played in 30.7% of the 176 Powerball drawings, and was last seen in the May 17th drawing from a few weeks ago.

Making its 20th appearance, the [2-2-1-1] General Order has played in approximately 37% of the 54 drawings that the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 11.4% of all drawings. Prior to Saturday night, this General Order played in the May 10th drawing. This was exactly one month ago.

Last, but certainly not least, the 0 2 2 0 1 1 Specific Order made its fourth appearance, and has now played in 20% of the 20 drawings where the [2-2-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has played in 7.41% of the 54 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 2.27% of all drawings. The 0 2 2 0 1 1 Specific Order was last seen in the December 14th, 2016 drawing.

Will the {3-2-1} Pattern push ahead and go for a fifth appearance? Will the {2-2-1-1} Pattern get in the game and make an encore appearance?

A Change-Up in the Pattern

In the last post, the $90 million question was “Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern see a ‘four-peat’”? For those of you who were looking forward to seeing the “four-peat” in the June 9th drawing, the answer was a big NO. However, there were a couple of repeating Three-Number Combinations. Friday night’s drawing also saw the appearance of a Pattern that hadn’t been played in a while. Question is, which Pattern was it?

It turned out that the {2-2-1-1} Pattern was the Pattern of the evening. The winning numbers were 3, 16, 28, 33, 37, and MB 9.

Now with 114 appearances, this Pattern has played in 30% of the 380 Mega Millions drawings and was last seen in the May 2nd drawing a little over a month ago.

Making its 33rd appearance, the [1-2-2-1] General Order has played in 28.9% of the 114 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 8.68% of all drawings. Prior to Friday night, this General Order was last seen in the February 17th, 2017 drawing.

The 1 2 2 0 0 1 Specific Order made its seventh appearance, and has now played in 21.2% of the 33 drawings where the [1-2-2-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 6.14% of the 114 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} drawing has appeared, and in 1.84% of all 380 drawings. The 1 2 2 0 0 1 Specific Order previously played in the December 27th, 2016 drawing.

The repeating Three-Number Combinations of the evening were

Will the {2-2-1-1} Pattern make an encore in Tuesday’s drawing?

Stumbling Upon a Three-Peat and (Repeating) Combinations

June 7th was a busy night for both Lotto Texas and Powerball. Lotto Texas saw a trio of Four-Number Combinations and Powerball saw one repeating Three-Number Combination. Right off the heels of Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing, the three-peat bug had spread. The question now is, which lottery saw a Pattern three-peat?

Lotto Texas

As it turns out, Lotto Texas saw a three-peat of the {3-2-1} Pattern. The winning numbers this time around were 16, 25, 26, 33, 37, and 43.

Source: lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern has now made 754 appearances, and has played in 51.9% of the 1453 Lotto Texas drawings. Recall that the {3-2-1} Pattern was last seen in the June 3rd drawing and earlier still on May 31st.

Making its 114th appearance, the 1 3 2 Specific Order has played in 15.1% of the 754 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.85% of all drawings. This Specific Order was last seen in the April 22nd, 2017 drawing.

The trio of Four-Number Combinations was made up of the following:

  • 25, 33, 37, 43 (Debuted August 3rd, 2013)
  • 16, 26, 33, 37 (Debuted December 2nd, 2006)
  • 25, 26, 33, 37 (Debuted March 3rd, 2007)

Did Powerball also see a Pattern three-peat?

Powerball

Unlike the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in “sister” Mega Millions, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern did not make a three-peat appearance, or “four-peat”, actually. Instead, Powerball saw the 34th appearance of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern. The winning numbers were 5, 21, 57, 66, 69, and PB 13.

Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

This Pattern has played in 19.4% of the 175 drawings, and was last seen in the May 24th drawing a few weeks ago.

Now with fourteen appearances, the [1-1-3-1] General Order has played in 41.2% of the 34 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 8% of all Powerball drawings. This General Order previously played in the May 20th drawing.

Next up is the 1 1 0 0 3 1 Specific Order, making its second-ever appearance. This Specific Order has played in approximately 14.3% of the 14 drawings where the [1-1-3-1] General Order has appeared, 5.88% of the 34 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.14% of all 175 drawings. The 1 1 0 0 3 1 Specific Order made its debut in the September 21st, 2016 drawing.

The lone repeating Three-Number Combination was 57, 66, and 69, and it made its debut over a year ago in the May 4th, 2016 drawing.

What will Saturday’s drawing have in store? Will the {3-2-1} Pattern be daring and go for a fourth consecutive appearance? Will a Specific Order make its debut?

Calmly Wandering into a Three-Peat

Compared to what happened this past Friday, Mega Millions was mostly calm the night of June 6th. Mostly? Well, a bit of that Friday night charm rubbed off. Friday night’s Pattern not only made an encore appearance, but has now appeared three times in a row! Did the General Order and Specific Order get a touch of Friday night as well, or did they do their own thing?

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 156th appearance, with winning numbers 3, 5, 16, 49, 75, and MB 5.

Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

This Pattern has now played in 41.2% of the 379 Mega Millions drawings, and remains the most commonly seen Pattern.

The [2-1-1-1-1] General Order made its 38th appearance, and has now played in 24.4% of the 156 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in approximately 10% of all Mega Millions drawings. Unlike this occurrence of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order was last seen in the May 23rd drawing.

Making its tenth appearance, the 2 1 0 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 26.3% of the 38 drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has appeared. When looking at the 156 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, this becomes 6.41% of the time, and 2.64% when looking at all 379 drawings. Prior to Tuesday night, this Specific Order was last seen in the October 25th, 2016 drawing.

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations Tuesday night, but will there be at least one on Friday night? Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern dare to go for a “four-peat”?

The Common Denominator

Lotto Texas and Powerball dived into the June pool and they found common ground in Saturday night’s drawing. Both lotteries saw their most commonly played Patterns, and furthermore, these were encores! Powerball took it to another level and went into three-peat territory. Combination-wise, Lotto Texas saw repeating Four-Number Combinations. Powerball, on the other hand, didn’t see any repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Lotto Texas

With its 753rd appearance, the {3-2-1} Pattern remained the most commonly played. The June 3rd drawing marked the occasion with winning numbers 1, 9, 17, 23, 53, and 54.

This Pattern has now played in 51.9% of the 1452 Lotto Texas drawings.

Making its 137th appearance, the 3 1 2 Specific Order has now played in 18.2% of the 753 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.44% of all Lotto Texas drawings. Prior to Saturday’s drawing, this Specific Order was last seen in the May 20th drawing just a few weeks ago.

The repeating Four-Number Combinations of the evening were

  • 1, 9, 23, 54 (Debuted April 9th, 2014) and
  • 9, 17, 53, 54 (Debuted November 8th, 2006)

One of the amazing things about repeating Four-Number Combinations is the range of their debut dates. As you can see from the dates above, these Combinations debuted anywhere from the early days of YouTube to a period where smartphones were everywhere.

Powerball

As mentioned earlier, Powerball also saw its most commonly seen Pattern make an encore appearance. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was represented by winning numbers 3, 9, 21, 41, 54, and PB 25.

Winning Powerball numbers. From lotterytrend-powerball.com.

This Pattern has now played in 36.2% of the 174 Powerball drawings. Prior to Saturday, and May 31st, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was seen in the May 27th drawing.

With thirteen appearances, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has played in 20.6% of the 63 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.47% of all Powerball drawings. This General Order was last seen in the May 27th drawing.

The 2 1 1 1 0 1 Specific Order made its third appearance, and has now played in 23.1% of the 13 drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has appeared. This statistic becomes 4.76% when looking at the 63 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.72% of all drawings. This Specific Order hasn’t been seen in a while; the last time it appeared was in the December 17th, 2016 drawing.

Will the Patterns continue to be joined at the hip in the week ahead, or will other Patterns appear? Will a Specific Order make its debut?
