September’s Seismic Shift

Great changes came about in the lottery world Saturday night. Lotto Texas, lest it start to think too highly of itself, was knocked back down to earth. Naturally, the jackpot reset to $5 million. The greatest shift was in Powerball. Out of the madness of an Australia Play came a similar spread, an entourage of repeating Three-Number Combinations, and a jackpot that grew to $238 million.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

September 17, 2022 was the night of the {3-2-1} Pattern, with winning numbers 5, 9, 18, 22, 35 and 48. This Pattern has now played 1087 times.

There have now been 2060 Lotto Texas drawings, and the {3-2-1} Pattern has been featured 52.8% of the time. This Pattern was last seen September 7, 2022.

Now with 193 appearances, the 3 2 1 Specific Order has played in 17.8% of the 1087 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. Four-Number Combinations

Having been forced to reset the jackpot left Lotto Texas in no mood for repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and Powerball decided to take a cue from Lotto Texas with an Australia Play of its own. Thanks to 5, 25, 36, 51, 61 and PB 1, the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order, and the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order made their 48th appearance.

Six *very* powerful numbers! Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

An Australia Play has been featured in 6.14% of the 782 Powerball drawings and was last seen August 22, 2022.

Similar Spread

“Grand” best described September 17th’s Australia Play, and what better demonstration than a similar spread? Saturday night’s numbers had a spread of 20:11:15:10. Similarly, the September 2, 2017 drawing had a spread of 15:20:11:10. That night, the winning numbers were 6, 21, 41, 52, 62 and PB 26. Although the differences between numbers were the same, the orders in which the numbers played, and the numbers themselves, were different.

Three-Number Combinations

All right, all right, there was another grand event that came from Saturday night’s Australia Play. Can you say four repeating Three-Number Combinations?

Mega Millions’ Mid-Month Pattern Shift

In our last Mega Millions post, we mentioned the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern and how it rules this lottery. One reason for the Pattern being high in rank is due to its tendency to repeat itself. There was no such repeat Friday night. Also missing from Friday night was the chaos that accompanied that instance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. Opting for a different Pattern shifted Friday night’s tone and raised the jackpot to $277 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-1-1-1} Pattern was featured in the September 16, 2022 drawing, with winning numbers 15, 30, 35, 38, 66 and MB 12. This Pattern has now played 156 times.

The [1-3-1-1] General Order, now with 50 appearances, has played in 32.1% of the 156 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 811 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 6.17% of the time. The [1-3-1-1] General Order was last seen July 19, 2022.

Now with five appearances, the 0 1 3 0 1 1 Specific Order has played in 10% of the 50 drawings where the General Order was [1-3-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 3.21% of the 156 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.62% of all 811 drawings. Friday night was much calmer, and all because of a switch-up in Patterns! Will it be the {3-1-1-1} Pattern that surprises us with an encore Tuesday night?

Lotto Texas and Powerball’s Wednesday Restoration

As we wait for Friday, there is one day that serves as a benchmark, a halfway point if you will. Whether you call it Wednesday or Hump Day, it’s understood that once you make it past that day, the rest of the week should be bearable. There are several ways to celebrate making it to mid-week, but if you were like Lotto Texas and Powerball, then you spent Wednesday night resting up.

Save for an Australia Play, the night of September 14, 2022 was a low-key night for the lotteries. Taking a break from the madness proved just as beneficial to giving the jackpots another boost. Lotto Texas’s jackpot line danced to $19 million, and Powerball’s jackpot powered up to $225 million.

Are Lotto Texas and Powerball resting up for a big blowout Saturday night, or will the rest continue?

The Wiles of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern didn’t become the most played Mega Millions by showing up every now and then. Encores. Pattern streaks. Those played a big part. The other method was employed September 13, 2022. That method is called “Gone, but not for long”, and it was just as effective at crushing the dreams of millions. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern ruled the night, and the jackpot climbed to $256 million.

General Lottery Analysis

Thanks to winning numbers 14, 25, 38, 59, 64 and MB 21, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 345th appearance.

Combination Celebration

Both Lotto Texas and Powerball took “Dancing in September” to heart Saturday night. Instead of double-dipping with Wednesday night’s Patterns, these lotteries switched things up and wowed the crowds with Combination repeats and rising jackpots. Lotto Texas shimmied onward to $17.5 million, and Powerball shuffled to $193 million.

The Friday Night Slide

Short or long, boring or eventful, many of us breathe a sigh of relief once Friday rolls around. In our ever-increasingly connected go-go-go society, the need for an escape hatch is important. Enjoying a night out with friends, or even by yourself, is a popular choice to jump start the weekend. Others, like Mega Millions, opt to relax. Everyone “knows” that Saturday is the real party day!

With regards to Mega Millions, Friday night’s outcome was vastly different from what was observed earlier in the week. There was no {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore, and the idea of a playback was rendered absurd. One thing that did stay the same was a boost in the jackpot. The prize climbed to $231 million.

Rising Jackpots Spring Eternal

No one knows what’s in store for tomorrow, and tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. What is guaranteed, at least for the foreseeable future, is Lotto Texas and Powerball showing up in the middle of the week to tantalize players with the idea of winning millions. However, these lotteries have taken more to taunting as of late.

Lotto Texas had no intention of having the jackpot reset. By the grace of a Pattern encore, the jackpot grew to a hearty $17.25 million. Meanwhile, Powerball kept a level head and pushed the jackpot to $186 million.

The Tuesday Night Labors of Mega Millions

After the long Labor Day weekend comes the inevitable. Whether remote or in-person, millions must return to work and school. One silver lining is that it’s a shorter week for many of us. Still bummed out about returning to the grind? Mega Millions is hard at work, making you and many others fight for its prizes. Oh sure, Mega Millions could just let the prize fall in someone’s lap, but where’s the fun in that?

Mega Millions teased the idea of a playback Tuesday night. Although the playback idea fell through, all who participated in the September 6, 2022 drawing found themselves face-to-face with a very common Pattern and a jackpot that stood at a grand $210 million.
