March 23rd is roughly the three-quarter mark of the month. Perhaps it was fitting that the result of Saturday night’s Powerball drawing is a grand prize now worth $750 million. That’s three-quarters of a billion dollars!

The only thing that’s certain going into next week is that there’s a crazy-large jackpot in Powerball. Wednesday could see that prize being won or the prize growing once again. That {2-2-1-1} Pattern is one of the most common. Will there be a three-peat?

Who Loves Playbacks?

The theme of the week so far is “Playback”. Yesterday, we covered the playback in Mega Millions. Lotto Texas and Powerball, not wanting to be left out, received some playback love March 20, 2019. Powerball maintains much of the momentum heading into Saturday and it’s possible that the jackpot will jump again. This Wednesday marks the official start of spring. Powerball’s prize is currently $550 million, but there’s a good chance it’ll climb again before the actual playdate. This is something to keep an eye on. On a lighter note, will either the {3-2-1} or {3-1-1-1} Pattern make an encore?

History points to the jackpot climbing a bit before being claimed, but this past Tuesday showed that anything can happen. Still, considering that the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore, one thing to keep an eye on going into Tuesday is whether there’s a three-peat. This Pattern is fond of streaks.

What a month it’s been so far! Since March started, we have yet to see anyone win the grand prize in either Lotto Texas or Powerball. And, after what happened March 13th, both prizes eluded lotto players all over.

Powerball will most certainly get past that half-billion-dollar threshold going into Saturday’s drawing. Spring is about new beginnings, and in this case, insanely large jackpots. Powerball is eager to take the new season by the horns with its nearly half-billion-dollar prize. As the jackpot seems to do in times like this, it’ll most likely be at that half-billion-dollar point, if not close. That’ll be something to keep an eye on heading into Wednesday night.

A Playback for Mardi Gras

March for Mega Millions has been anything but quiet so far. This past Friday saw someone become $273 million richer (pre-tax). For March 5, 2019, on a party day that gives New Year’s Eve a run for its money, we saw…a playback!
