The Ides of Mega Millions

You know the Ides of March by a more familiar name: March 15th. History (and Shakespearean) buffs will know this as the day Julius Caesar was assassinated. More recently, it was the day that Muslims were murdered during Friday prayer in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Please keep the victims’ families in your thoughts.

March 15th is a day with a gruesome history. Not so for Mega Millions, fortunately. Friday night was fruitful for repeating Three-Number Combinations. With no grand prize winner, the jackpot is now $45 million, and all this was thanks to a Pattern encore.

General Lottery Analysis

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore with winning numbers 3, 29, 56, 62, 64, and MB 4. This Pattern has now played 195 times.

Of the 445 Mega Millions drawings, this Pattern has played 43.8% of the time. Remember; this Pattern played March 12, 2019.

The [1-1-1-2-1] General Order made its 45th appearance and has now played in 23.1% of the 195 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 445 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 10.1% of the time.

Now with sixteen appearances, the 1 0 1 1 2 1 Specific Order has played in 35.6% of the 45 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-1-2-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 8.25% of the 195 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in roughly 3.60% of all 445 drawings.

Both the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order and the 1 0 1 1 2 1 Specific Order played February 1, 2019.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Alongside the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore were four repeating Three-Number Combinations:

  • 3, 29, 64 (Debuted February 3, 2017)
  • 29, 56, MB 4 (Debuted November 25, 2014)
  • 56, 62, 64 (Debuted January 7, 2014)
  • 3, 64, MB 4 (Debuted September 25, 2015)

History points to the jackpot climbing a bit before being claimed, but this past Tuesday showed that anything can happen. Still, considering that the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore, one thing to keep an eye on going into Tuesday is whether there’s a three-peat. This Pattern is fond of streaks.
