The Blindsided Lottery

On this blog, we provide analysis on Lotto Texas, Powerball, and Mega Millions. One of these lotteries is not like the others. This lottery starts off with a lower initial jackpot and slowly, yet gracefully, increases its prize whenever players fail to pick the six winning numbers. When this lottery gets knocked down, it takes much longer to build its stores back up.

That lottery, friends, is Lotto Texas, and on February 10, 2021, that lottery got smacked down. The prize reset itself to $5 million, naturally. And, let’s be honest, $5 million is nothing to sneeze at.

The night was kinder to Powerball. Although there wasn’t a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore, this lottery received an assist from a similar spread. With that came a jackpot that rose to $56 million.

You’d think that with Mega Millions having a drawing on Groundhog Day that there’d be a {3-1-1-1} Pattern encore. A “Groundhog Week”, for lack of a better term. Other plans were to be had for February 5, 2021. Mega Millions broke it off with the {3-1-1-1} Pattern, which led to the jackpot rising to $68 million and a basket of repeating Combinations. The playback buzz was in the air this past Wednesday night. Its presence was certainly felt in Lotto Texas and although it grabbed a hold of Powerball, it didn’t stick the landing. The only thing these lotteries had in common February 3, 2021 was rising jackpots. These rose to $6 million and $30 million, respectively.

Fate wasn’t kind to those who want rising Powerball jackpots. After months of a jackpot that grew uninhibited (to the tune over ¾ billion dollars), this lottery encountered trouble yet again January 30, 2021. After seeing a jackpot boost this past Wednesday night, someone from New Jersey came along Saturday night and won the prize! Powerball’s jackpot was reset to $20 million.

What about Lotto Texas? Well, this lottery kept to itself. As Powerball got knocked down, Lotto Texas climbed to $5.75 million.

It was just one week ago that someone won the billion-dollar jackpot. In the week since then, Mega Millions was resting. The jackpot continued to rise but without many appearances of repeating Three or even Four-Number Combinations. That changed January 29, 2021. Not only did such Combinations come about, but the jackpot also rose to $42 million.

Something interesting took place January 23, 2021. Lotto Texas and Powerball were in tandem with each other. See, they both played the same Pattern. A lottery jackpot is much like a house. Over time, the foundation wears away and if not shored up, the house collapses. Winning the jackpot is like knocking the house off its foundation. Unlike actual houses, lotteries can rebuild with every reset, so long as said lotteries continue to exist.

There were no signs of collapse in either Lotto Texas or Powerball January 16, 2021. Powerball, like Mega Millions, got closer to a billion-dollar jackpot. With the players thwarted yet again, the prize grew to $730 million. Lotto Texas remained respectable and quietly rose to $5.5 million.
