And Mega Millions Makes Three

Something called “The Jackpot Smackdown” made its rounds in the lottery world. Lotto Texas and Powerball were affected this past Saturday night, and they played the same Pattern, no less! On June 8, 2021, it was Mega Millions’ turn. A lone player from The Land of Lincoln struck the winning blow. Naturally, the jackpot reset itself to $20 million.

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 9, 22, 39, 41, 54 and MB 19, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 294th drawing.

Three-Number Combinations

Mega Millions employed the “four repeating Three-Number Combinations without a repeating Four-Number Combination” trick again but that didn’t stop the jackpot from being claimed!

Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern come back Friday night and help prop up the jackpot?

Mega Millions on a Diet

Right after a holiday, it’s not uncommon to feel a little shame after pigging out. You may even find that you can’t fit into your favorite pair of paints or that cute outfit you finally got around to wearing. Sure, you can buy larger sizes, but the remedy is to be more active and go on a diet.

Mega Millions doesn’t need to worry about clothes, true, but it too can overindulge. Perhaps that’s why it scaled back on the repeating Three-Number Combinations Friday night. While the number of repeating Three-Number Combinations shrank, the jackpot grew to $56 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The June 4, 2021 drawing saw the 129th appearance of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern with winning numbers 4, 30, 34, 41, 64 and MB 8.

Three-Number Combinations

Although Mega Millions cut back on the repeating Three-Number Combinations, a couple of them did manage to slip through:

Will the scale-back on repeating Three-Number Combinations continue next week, or will a {3-1-1-1} Pattern encore be in play?

Mega Millions and the Combination Avalanche

Another Memorial Day and another May have come and gone. Mega Millions took the opportunity to start June off with a bang, and that it did! Instead of a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern three-peat, this lottery had other plans. Recently, Mega Millions adapted a “trick” that allows for four repeating Three-Number Combinations without the use of a repeating Four-Number Combination! This “trick” was employed in the June 1, 2021 drawing as a side effect of the three-peat blocking Pattern. That Pattern also bumped the jackpot to $45 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 185th appearance with 7, 11, 33, 58, 63 and MB 23.

Once all 676 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 8.43% of the time. Prior to Tuesday night, the [2-1-2-1] General Order played May 18, 2021.

Now with seven appearances, the 2 0 1 0 2 1 Specific Order has played in 12.3% of the 57 drawings where the General Order was [2-1-2-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 3.78% of the 185 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 1.04% of all 676 drawings. We last saw the 2 0 1 0 2 1 Specific Order March 19, 2021.

Three-Number Combinations

Will Mega Millions see another avalanche of repeating Three-Number Combinations Friday night?

Mega Millions’ Memoria Day (Weekend) Combination Special

Memorial Day is the traditional start of summer, even if the schools haven’t closed just yet*. For us at Lottery Trend headquarters, this holiday weekend marks a milestone. It was five years ago that Lottery Binge went online. Five years of providing the latest lottery analysis for Lotto Texas, Powerball, and Mega Millions, and no intention of slowing down!

*For readers not familiar with the U.S. school system, the country doesn’t have a national curriculum. The states determine the start and end dates of the school year, as well as what gets taught. Some schools close at the beginning of May (and the kids go back in late July/early August) while others let out at the end of June (and start after Labor Day). In our neck of the woods, the schools let out right before Memorial Day.

How fitting that Mega Millions kicked off Memorial Day weekend! The May 28, 2021 drawing saw a bombardment of repeating Three-Number Combinations. This pushed the jackpot upward to $34 million. Both of these were made possible by the return of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern.

General Lottery Analysis

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore was made possible by 10, 14, 20, 47, 70 and MB 15. This Pattern has now played 293 times.

Will a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern three-peat be how Mega Millions kicks off June?

From an Acorn Springs Another Mega Millions

The mighty Mega Millions jackpot was chopped down last Friday. A lone player picked the six winning numbers and became over half a billion dollars richer. On a more recent note, the May 25, 2021 drawing saw the beginning of the jackpot regrowth process. A boost to $22 million was a healthy start.

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 14, 21, 31, 34, 54, and MB 11, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 292nd appearance.

One great thing about lottery analysis is that even though a lottery gets knocked down, it’s never out for long! Will this be the beginning of another long growth process, or will this jackpot tree be chopped down much sooner?

Mega Millions: Firmly Planted

Mega Millions tends to its mighty oak with great care, knowing that it takes time for an acorn to sprout into a massive tree. Said tree must be protected from anything that can cause it harm.

Three months ago, in the middle of a devastatingly cold week, a $20 million acorn fell from a prior Mega Millions. Over time, the jackpot grew, eventually surpassing the $96 million that had been won way back when. The May 18, 2021 drawing saw the jackpot dig its roots even deeper and surpass the half-billion-dollar mark! When all was said and done, the prize had grown to $515 million.

Will the Mega Millions jackpot continue on its path to extreme growth?

Mega Millions on the Edge

Onward and upward. That phrase might as well be Mega Millions’ motto for the past three months! So far, nothing has come along to uproot the oak tree of a jackpot. With each drawing, the roots dig deeper, and the tree grows taller.

Not even the whimsical Australia Play of May 14, 2021 was able to knock the tree down. The jackpot grew to a mighty $468 million!

Will Friday night be the night the mighty oak comes crashing down, or will it continue to stand?

The Power of 396 Million

Mega Millions didn’t make things easy for all who dared to play May 7, 2021. Its prize certainly wouldn’t be the largest of The Big Three if just anyone could win the prize just like that! How large is that prize now?

Three hundred and ninety-six million dollars.

That’s $396,000,000. That’s crazy-rich levels of wealth, the coveted “Screw you!” money. The dream of having that kind of wealth, to pay off debts and have real control over your life (provided you handle that level of wealth wisely) is what attracts people to Mega Millions and its kin. And even though that mighty oak of a prize stands tall and strong, more people still are going to go for it next week.

As there’s no lemonade or sweet tea on tap, let’s take a closer look at Friday night’s results in the shade of that mighty oak of a lottery.

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 5, 10, 19, 21, 50 and MB 10, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 181st appearance.
