On July 3, 1996, one movie took the world by storm. An alien invasion movie with plucky, loveable characters, special effects that (mostly) hold up to this day, and a stellar (no pun intended) soundtrack. That movie was Independence Day, and for everyone who saw it in the theater, especially for the 90s kids out there (like yours truly), it was a thrill like no other. Twenty-five years later, and the movie has become a staple of holiday viewing.
July 3, 2021 saw a dazzling display of fireworks from both Lotto Texas and Powerball. A three-peat and a playback were featured, and the jackpots shot up once more! The Lotto Texas jackpot blasted its way up to $7 million, and Powerball’s jackpot soared to $113 million.
