Adieu, 2017

First, a Happy New Year to all our readers! After another year of Pattern streaks, similar spreads, and Australia Plays, the year 2017 officially ended on December 30th. In Lottery World, anyway. Not content with taking it easy New Year’s weekend, Lotto Texas and Powerball wanted to give a more festive send-off Saturday night.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-2-1} reigned supreme. With winning numbers 9, 14, 16, 27, 45, and 51, this Pattern played for the 786th time.

Now that there have been 1512 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played in roughly 52% of them. Prior to Saturday night, the {3-2-1} Pattern was last seen in the December 20, 2017 drawing.

With its 146th appearance, the 3 1 2 Specific Order has played in 18.6% of the 786 drawings where the {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. When looking at all 1512 drawings, this Specific Order has played 9.66% of the time. The 3 1 2 Specific Order previously played in the December 2, 2017 drawing.

Four-Number Combination(s)

A repeating Four-Number Combination was part of Lotto Texas’s send-off to 2017:

Not a shabby send-off. What tricks were up Powerball’s sleeves?

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Powerball also saw its most commonly played Pattern, and it one-upped the one in Lotto Texas. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, right off the heels of Wednesday’s drawing, decided to have another go. The 86th appearance was highlighted by winning numbers 28, 36, 41, 51, 58, and PB 24.

Of the 234 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played 36.8% of the time.

The [1-2-1-1-1] General Order, making its 25th appearance, has now played in 29.1% of the 86 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has also played in 10.7% of all 234 drawings. The [1-2-1-1-1] General Order previously played in the December 16, 2017 drawing.

Now with six appearances, the 0 1 2 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 24% of the 25 drawings where the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order was also seen in 6.98% of the 86 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was the winning Pattern. Finally, when taking all 234 drawings into account, this Specific Order has been seen 2.56% of the time. The 0 1 2 1 1 1 Specific Order was last seen in the December 9, 2017 drawing.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Powerball added an extra kick with three repeating Three-Number Combinations:

Will Lotto Texas and Powerball start the new year with Pattern encores, or something totally unexpected?

The One Where a Playback Happened

This past year has been a host of the unexpected at Lottery Trend headquarters:

And yet, there’s one phenomenon that outshines them all: the playback. Playbacks occur when the Pattern, General Order (Powerball and Mega Millions only), and Specific Order played together on a previous date. Unlike the Pattern associated with an Australia Play, a “Playback Pattern” can have more than one associated General Order (if applicable) and Specific Order.

Wednesday night saw at least one playback.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

The uncommonly seen {3-3} Pattern made its 128th appearance in the December 27th drawing, with winning numbers 2, 4, 15, 38, 48, and 53.

Given that there have been 1511 Lotto Texas drawings so far, this Pattern has played in 8.47% of them. This Pattern was last seen in the October 28, 2017 drawing.

The 3 0 3 Specific Order made its 49th appearance. This has now played in 38.3% of the 128 drawings where the {3-3} Pattern has appeared. When taking all 1511 drawings into account, this Specific Order has played 3.24% of the time. The 3 0 3 Specific Order was seen alongside the {3-3} Pattern in the October 28th drawing.

Four-Number Combination(s)

In addition to an uncommon Pattern, Wednesday night’s drawing saw the following repeating Four-Number Combination:

Unlike what we saw last time, this Combination made its debut in this decade. More specifically, the August 13, 2011 drawing.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Powerball saw its most commonly seen Pattern Wednesday evening. With winning numbers 3, 9, 16, 56, 60, and PB 3, the {2-1-1-1-1} pattern has now played 85 times.

This Pattern has played in 36.5% of the 233 Powerball drawings thus far. Prior to Wednesday night, we saw this Pattern in the December 16, 2017 drawing.

Now with 20 appearances, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has played in 23.5% of the 85 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 8.58% of all 233 drawings. The [2-1-1-1-1] General Order was last seen in the November 11, 2017 drawing.

Out of the 85 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, this Specific Order has played in 5.88% of them. Finally, when taking all 233 drawings into account, this Specific Order has played 2.15% of the time. We last saw the 2 1 0 1 1 1 Specific Order in the July 5, 2017 drawing.

Saturday is the last lottery day of 2017. How will Lotto Texas and Powerball end the year?

The Great Lottery Gifting

First, we’d like to wish our readers a Merry Christmas! December 23rd was a busy night. Whether it was wrapping up last-minute shopping, or partaking in Festivus activities in the “real world”, Lotto Texas and Powerball had something for everyone. Who could say “No” to Pattern encores, rare Patterns, and repeating Combinations, of both the Four-Number and Three-Number kind?

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

The {5-1} Pattern, one of the rarest Lotto Texas Patterns, made its 55th appearance, with winning numbers 8, 22, 23, 29, 34, and 36.

Out of six numbers came a rare Pattern. Source: lotterytrend.com.

Out of the 1510 drawings, this Pattern has played in 3.64% of them, and was last seen in the November 18, 2017 drawing.

Now with 15 appearances, the 1 5 0 Specific Order has played in 27.3% of the 55 drawings where the {5-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 0.99% of all 1510 drawings. Prior to Saturday, the 1 5 0 Specific Order was last seen in the August 5, 2017 drawing.

Four-Number Combination(s)

What makes looking at the repeating Four-Number Combinations fun is finding the ones that made their debuts in the last decade. Here were two of them:

  • 22, 29, 34, 36 (Debuted August 15, 2001)
  • 8, 22, 23, 29 (Debuted March 12, 2008)

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Like the {3-1-1-1} Pattern in “sister” lottery Mega Millions, Powerball’s {3-1-1-1} Pattern got a bit of that “Encore Fever”. This time, the winning numbers were 1, 3, 13, 15, 44, and PB 25, bringing the number of appearances to 45.

Pattern encores are a thing this week. Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Given that there have been 232 Powerball drawings to date, this Pattern has played 19.4% of the time.

The [3-1-1-1] General Order made its 11th appearance Saturday night. With that said, it has now played in 24.4% of the 45 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. When taking all 232 drawings into account, this General Order has played 4.74% of the time. We last saw the [3-1-1-1] General Order in the October 11, 2017 drawing.

Now with two appearances, the 3 1 0 1 0 1 Specific Order has played in 18.2% of the eleven drawings where the [3-1-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has now played in 4.44% of the 45 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.86% of all 232 drawings. The 3 1 0 1 0 1 Specific Order made its debut in the January 11, 2017 drawing.

Here’s something that will add some more spice to your wassail: Pay close attention to the numbers that played that evening. The winning numbers in that drawing were very close to the winning numbers that played Saturday. They were 1, 3, 13, 16, 43, and PB 24. It’s part of the very reason why Lottery Trend exists!

Three-Number Combination(s)

To add to the bounty of gifts, there was a Three-Number Combination that played three times! That Combination was 1, 3, 13. It made its debut in the same January 11th drawing we just talked about, and it was last seen in the October 11, 2017 drawing.

Now we come to the real home stretch. Next week is the last week of 2017. Can Lotto Texas and Powerball top Saturday night’s results?

The Wednesday Night Thaw

To start today’s post, here are a couple of facts about Australia:

  1. It’s the only country that’s also a continent.
  2. It’s one of the warmest spots on the planet right now.

Seeing how it’s almost summer down there, it’s fitting that an Australia Play was seen on December 13, 2017. Biggest play of the night, in fact. The appearance of the most commonly seen Pattern, an encore at that, was a big play, don’t get us wrong. It’s just that more happened in the lottery that saw the Australia Play.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

Lotto Texas had the honor of hosting the Australia Play for the 204th time! Wednesday’s winning numbers were 12, 14, 19, 34, 39, and 47.

Australia Play in motion. Source: lotterytrend.com.

Now with there being 1507 Lotto Texas drawings, both the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order have played 13.5% of the time. An Australia Play was last seen November 29, 2017.

Similar Spread

This Australia Play saw a spread of 02:05:15:05:08, which was like the spread on May 8, 2010. That night, the spread was 02:08:15:05:05, and the winning numbers were 12, 14, 22, 37, 42, 47. What makes this a similar spread is that even though the numbers in the spreads are the same, their orders are different. Yes, even if three of the six numbers drawn are shared between the drawings.

Four-Number Combination(s)

The Australia Play continued to go big with two repeating Four-Number Combinations:

  • 12, 19, 34, 47 (Debuted December 31, 2008)
  • 12, 14, 19, 34 (Debuted July 18, 2001)
And it likes to go big. Source: lotterytrend.com.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

By process of elimination, it was Powerball that saw the Pattern encore. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, King of the Powerball Patterns, saw its 83rd appearance with 2, 24, 28, 51, 58, and PB 7.

An encore is nothing to sneeze at. Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Out of the 229 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played in 36.2% of them.

The [1-2-1-1-1] General Order made its 23rd appearance, and was seen alongside the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in this past Saturday’s drawing. This has now played in 27.7% of the 83 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. When taking all 229 drawings into account, this General Order has played about 10% of the time.

Now with four appearances, the 1 2 0 1 1 1 Specific Order has played 17.4% of the time. This Specific Order has also played in 4.82% of the 83 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.75% of all 229 drawings. Prior to Wednesday night, the 1 2 0 1 1 1 Specific Order had played in the April 15, 2017 drawing.

Three-Number Combination(s)

The Pattern encore was the only big play for Powerball. There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Will Saturday’s drawing lead to either an Australia Play encore or a {2-1-1-1-1} three-peat?

Repeating Combination Bundle

The snowstorm has passed, leaving broken records, social media blow-ups, and power outages. Neither Lotto Texas nor Powerball broke any records December 9th. But, there were a few rumblings in the repeating Combinations department. We’ll get to those in a moment. First things first though: the analyses!

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

One way to obtain “Most commonly played Pattern” status is to appear in streaks. That is, appearing in at least three consecutive drawings. Saturday’s drawing saw the {3-2-1} Pattern play for the third time in a row. This time, the winning numbers were 4, 5, 10, 21, 34, and 40, bringing the number of appearances up to 783.

With 1506 Lotto Texas drawing so far, the {3-2-1} Pattern has played 52% of the time.

Now with 134 appearances, the 3 2 1 Specific Order has played in 17.1% of the 783 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. When taking all 1506 drawings into account, this Specific Order has played 8.90% of the time. Prior to Saturday night, the 3 2 1 Specific Order played in the November 4, 2017 drawing.

Did Powerball see a Pattern encore Saturday night?

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Powerball didn’t see a Pattern encore. However, it too saw its most commonly played Pattern. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 82nd appearance with winning numbers 25, 36, 31, 55, 60, and PB 6.

The 0 1 2 1 1 1 Specific Order previously played on April 22, 2017.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Powerball saw a couple of repeating Three-Number Combinations, both debuting about three weeks apart:

Will there be more repeating Four-Number and Three-Number Combinations in Wednesday’s drawing?

Around the Bonfire with Lotto Texas and Powerball

Our portion of Lottery Trend Country is still in the grips of winter. In fact, it’s so tight that the “s” word (that’s “snow”) was mentioned in the Houston weather forecast. As exciting as it all is, we’ll have to put it to the side.  Be it rain, heat, hail, or (possible) snow, Lotto Texas and Powerball held their drawings without issue on December 6, 2017.  Lotto Texas greeted winter with a Pattern encore. Although Powerball saw no such thing, it wasn’t totally iced out of the numbers madness.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

Lotto Texas liked the {3-2-1} Pattern so much that it decided to bring it back. This time, the winning numbers were 1, 25, 35, 42, 48, and 51.

Given that there have been 227 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played 30.8% of the time. The {2-2-1-1} Pattern previously played in the November 25, 2017 drawing.

The [2-2-1-1] General Order made its 27th appearance. And, it has now played in 38.6% of the 70 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared. Will the {3-2-1} Pattern go for the three-peat? Will the {2-2-1-1} Pattern make an encore?

Full Pattern Revolution

November 28th was the last Mega Millions drawing for the month. And wouldn’t you know it? The ever-so-lovable {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore! Pattern streaks? Showing up on every Friday of the month? Those are well and good. But, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern outdid itself, adding “Finishing the month the way it started” to its list of accomplishments.

Now that we’re done gushing over this Pattern, let’s get to the analysis, shall we?

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 10, 17, 47, 51, 61, and MB 5, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 135th appearance.

November started, and ended, with a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Given that there have been 310 Mega Millions drawings, this Pattern has played 43.5% of the time.

Now with 36 appearances, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has played in roughly 26.7% of the 135 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. And, it has appeared in 11.6% of all 310 drawings. Prior to Tuesday night, this General Order played November 10, 2017.

Making its seventh appearance was the 1 1 0 2 1 1 Specific Order. This has now played in 19.4% of the 36 drawings where the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 5.19% of the 135 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern appeared. Finally, when taking all 310 drawings into account, this Specific Order has played 2.26% of the time. We last saw the 1 1 0 2 1 1 Specific Order in the December 11, 2015 drawing. This was reconfigured from the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order seen that night.

Four Number Combination(s)

Of course, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern wasn’t going to settle for appearing in the first and last drawings of November. True to this Pattern’s fashion, it’s “Go big or go home.” There was in fact a repeating Four-Number Combination:

This Combination made its debut in the December 15, 2015 drawing.

As is the nature of these types of Three-Number Combinations, they made their debut alongside the Four-Number Combination mentioned in the previous section.

Will that winsome {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern be the one to start December?

Numbers to Go

Another Thanksgiving weekend has come and gone. People took to the skies and roads once again on November 25th, wanting to beat the mad rush home that would surely await them if they left Sunday. Lotto Texas sent along a playback. That is, both the Pattern and Specific Order were seen together on a previous date. Meanwhile, Powerball ran into a Pattern encore.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

Serving the most commonly seen Pattern. Source: lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern has played in 51.9% of the 1502 Lotto Texas drawings, and was last seen on November 8, 2017.

Now with 144 appearances, the 3 1 2 Specific Order has played in 18.5% of the 780 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 9.59% of all 1502 drawings. As is the nature of a playback, this Specific Order accompanied the {3-2-1} Pattern November 8th. Note that a playback is not an Australia Play. Remember that with the latter, both the Pattern and the Specific Order would be the same. For Lotto Texas, that would be the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order, respectively.

Here’s a good rule of thumb to abide by: All Australia Plays are playbacks, but not all playbacks are Australia Plays.

Four-Number Combination(s)

Among Saturday’s numbers was the repeating Four-Number Combination 7, 10, 12, 22.

Making its fourth appearance was the 2 1 0 2 0 1 Specific Order.  This Specific Order has now played in 17.4% of the 23 drawings where the [2-1-2-1] General Order has appeared. It has also played in roughly 5.8% of the 69 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared. Finally, when taking all 224 drawings into account, this Specific Order has played 1.79% of the time. The 2 1 0 2 0 1 Specific Order accompanied the [2-1-2-1] General Order in the November 4th drawing.

Rare Patterns, Not Rare Turkey

With a few more days to go before Thanksgiving, November 18th got into the business of Patterns. Rare Patterns. Both Lotto Texas and Powerball got together and served up the treats for rare Pattern lovers everywhere. Once more, it appeared that Lotto Texas had most of the fun. But, Powerball couldn’t be counted out completely.

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 1, 4, 5, 8, 12, and 26, the {5-1} Pattern made its 54th appearance.

Six numbers and a rare Pattern. Source: lotterytrend.com.

The appearance of this Pattern is a double whammy, it being a rare Pattern for one. The other being that Saturday night’s drawing was the 1500th drawing with numbers 1-54. With that said, the {5-1} Pattern has played a whopping 3.6% of the time. Believe it or not, it wasn’t that long ago that this Pattern was last seen. It made an appearance in the August 5th, 2017 drawing.

Now with eight appearances, the 5 1 0 Specific Order has played in 14.8% of the 54 drawings where the {5-1} Pattern has played. This Specific Order has also played in 0.53% of all 1500 drawings, and previously played in the March 25th, 2015 drawing.

Four-Number Combination(s)

It wasn’t enough for a rare Pattern to show itself. There had to be a repeating Four-Number Combination, too! The Combination of the evening was 1, 8, 12, 26, and it made its debut in the July 2nd, 2016 drawing.

What was Powerball’s rare Pattern?

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-2-1} Pattern may reign supreme in Lotto Texas, but that’s certainly not the case in Powerball. Here, the {3-2-1} Pattern made its twelfth appearance, with winning numbers 17, 28, 31, 32, 39, and PB 26.
