Playback and Encore: Saturday Night Style

So far, our December posts on Lotto Texas and Powerball have covered Australia Plays, similar spreads, and repeating Four-Number and Three-Number Combinations, respectively. December 16th followed a different script. Saturday night’s biggest plays were a Pattern encore and a playback. Which lottery saw what?

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

As amazing as it would have been, an Australia Play did not make an encore appearance. Instead, the {3-2-1} Pattern made its 784th appearance with winning numbers 5, 10, 16, 22, 26, and 46.

With 1508 Lotto Texas drawings so far, this Pattern has played in 52% of them. The {3-2-1} Pattern was last seen a week ago in the December 9, 2017 drawing.

Now with 135 appearances, the 3 2 1 Specific Order has played in 17.2% of the 784 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 8.95% of all 1508 drawings. And, it was seen alongside the {3-2-1} Pattern in the December 9th drawing.

To those of you who are new to Lottery Binge or need a refresher: When the Pattern and Specific Order accompany each other in a Lotto Texas drawing, we like to call this a playback. Note that even though the {3-2-1} Pattern and the 3 2 1 Specific Order appear to be the same, this is not an Australia Play. There are other Specific Orders unique to the {3-2-1} Pattern. What makes an Australia Play an Australia Play is that the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order can only be seen together.

Remember this: All Australia Plays are playbacks, but not all playbacks are Australia Plays.

Four-Number Combination(s)

There were no repeating Four-Number Combinations this time. Perhaps the Australia Play from last time and the playback this time were enough?

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Powerball brought back the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern for a three-peat! With winning numbers 9, 35, 37, 50, 63, and PB 11, this Pattern has now played 84 times.

With 230 Powerball drawings to date, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played in 36.5% of them.

The [1-2-1-1-1] General Order made an encore as well, bringing its number of appearances up to 24. This General Order has played in 28.6% of the 84 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. When taking all 230 drawings into account, this General order has played 10.4% of the time.

Now with eight appearances, the 1 0 2 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 33.3% of the 24 drawings where the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has appeared. Out of the 84 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, this Specific Order has played 9.52% of the time. Finally, when looking at all 230 drawings, the 1 0 2 1 1 1 Specific Order has played 3.48% of the time. Unlike the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order, this Specific Order was not seen in this past Wednesday’s drawing. Prior to Saturday night, the 1 0 2 1 1 1 Specific Order played on October 21, 2017.

Three-Number Combination(s)

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

The last full week of Christmas shopping is upon us. Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern streak continue in Powerball? Will there be more Australia Plays or similar spreads?
