Scaling Back a Bit

The month of April ended with a bang. There was an Australia Play and a repeating Four-Number Combination in Lotto Texas, and a repeating Three-Number Combination in Powerball. Although there was nothing in the May 3rd drawings that screamed “Blowout!” there were some big plays.

Lotto Texas

One of these big plays was the 162nd appearance of the {4-2} Pattern, which isn’t commonly seen in Lotto Texas. Wednesday’s winning numbers were 4, 13, 42, 46, 52, and 53.

This Pattern has now played in 11.2% of the 1443 drawings and was last seen in the March 4, 2017 drawing.

The 2 0 4 Specific Order made its 21st appearance, and has now played in roughly 13% of the 162 drawings where the {4-2} Pattern appeared. This statistic becomes 1.46% when taking all 1443 drawings into account. Prior to Wednesday, this Specific Order previously played in the February 8, 2017 drawing.

Powerball

Powerball saw the {2-2-1-1} Pattern, with winning numbers 17, 18, 49, 59, 66, and PB 9.

Now with 50 appearances, this Pattern has played in 30.3% of the 165 Powerball drawings. The {2-2-1-1} Pattern previously played in the March 25, 2017 drawing.

Making its 15th appearance, the [2-1-2-1] General Order has now played in 30% of the 50 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.09% of all Powerball drawings. This General Order was previously seen in the March 22, 2017 drawing.

The big play of the evening in Powerball was the debut of the 0 2 0 1 2 1 Specific Order. This Specific Order has now played in 6.667% of the 15 drawings where the [2-1-2-1] General Order has appeared and in 2% of the 50 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern appeared. When taking all 165 Powerball drawings into account, the 0 2 0 1 2 1 Specific Order has played 0.606% of the time.

Will the weekend give us a {2-2-1-1} repeat in Powerball? Will another Specific Order make its debut?

Number Storm

The steady rain from Wednesday night turned into a downpour Saturday. What sprouted after the rains of April 29th were big plays for both Lotto Texas and Powerball.

Lotto Texas

One of the big events in Lotto Texas was the return of the Australia Play! As is the nature of such a play, the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order made their 194th appearance. The winning numbers were 2, 5, 25, 35, 41, and 53.

Prior to Saturday night, the last time an Australia Play came about was in the February 22, 2017 drawing. The Australia Play has now appeared in 13.5% of 1442 Lotto Texas drawings.

Saturday’s Australia Play also harbored two repeating Four-Number Combinations. These were

  • 2, 35, 41, 53 (Debuted August 6, 2011) and
  • 2, 25, 35, 41 (Debuted July 5, 2014)

Powerball

The {3-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore appearance, with winning numbers 22, 23, 24, 45, 62, and PB 5.

Now with 31 appearances, this Pattern has played in 18.9% of the 164 Powerball drawings.

The [3-1-1-1] General Order made its eighth appearance, and has played in 25.8% of the 31 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 4.88% of all 164 drawings. The [3-1-1-1] had previously played in the January 11, 2017 drawing.

Getting into specifics, the 0 3 0 1 1 1 Specific Order made its third appearance. This Specific Order has played in 37.5% of the 8 drawings where the [3-1-1-1] General Order appeared, 9.68% of the 31 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.83% of all Powerball drawings. Prior to Saturday, the 0 3 0 1 1 1 Specific Order previously played in the November 19, 2016 drawing.

Last, but certainly not least, a Three-Number Combination made a repeat appearance! The Combination was 22, 45, and PB 5.

This Combination made its debut in the November 14, 2015 drawing.

With April behind us and with May on the way, will a trend of big plays be established for Lotto Texas and Powerball?

April Showers

“April showers bring May flowers,” so the saying goes. One can assume that said showers are of steady rains, not sprinkles or deluges of Biblical proportions. The April 26, 2017 drawings for Lotto Texas and Powerball were just like those proverbial showers. There were no major upsets, and the biggest play of the evening wasn’t obvious, at least on the surface.

Lotto Texas

Lotto Texas had the biggest draw of the evening, with the encore appearance of the {3-2-1} Pattern. Its 750th appearance was thanks to winning numbers 9, 25, 30, 40, 45, and 53.

Winning Texas Lottery numbers. From lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern has now played in 52.05% of the 1441 Lotto Texas drawings, and remains the most commonly seen Pattern. Recall that the {3-2-1} Pattern was just seen this past Saturday.

The Specific Order of the evening was 1 2 3. Now with 137 appearances, this Specific Order has played in 18.3% of the 750 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. When looking at all 1441 drawings, this statistic becomes 9.51%. The 1 2 3 Specific Order was last seen in the December 3, 2016 drawing.

There were no repeating Four-Number, or Five-Number Combinations on Wednesday night.

Powerball

Powerball saw an uncommon Pattern in the form of {3-1-1-1}. Winning numbers 1, 15, 18, 26, 51, and PB 26 brought the number of appearances up to 30.

Winning Powerball numbers. From lotterytrend-powerball.com.

This Pattern has now played in 18.4% of the 163 Powerball drawings, and previously played in the April 5, 2017 drawing.

The [1-3-1-1] General Order made its 11th appearance, its first since the March 4, 2017 drawing. This General Order has played in approximately 36.67% of the 30 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 6.75% of all 163 drawings.

With only two appearances, the 1 3 0 1 0 1 Specific Order has now played in 18.2% of the eleven drawings where the [1-3-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in approximately 6.667% of the 30 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} has appeared, and in 1.23% of all drawings. The 1 3 0 1 0 1 Specific Order made its debut in the November 12, 2016 drawing.

The thing about showers is that the grey skies give way to sunlight and fields with flowers abloom. With the last drawings of the month for Lotto Texas and Powerball taking place on Saturday, will the flowers bloom early?

Finding Common Ground

Earth Day is a time when we mere mortals should reflect on how we treat our planet, and how we can sustain our environment for not just ourselves, but for generations to come. Now, I’m not going to delve into the politics here; this is not the blog for that kind of conversation. As science marches around the world took place during the day, the drawings for Lotto Texas and Powerball took place that night. Both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw common ground April 22, 2017, for they both saw their most commonly seen Patterns.

Lotto Texas

The {3-2-1} Pattern made its 749th appearance, with winning numbers 13, 19, 20, 31, 37, and 50.

Winning Texas Lottery numbers.

This Pattern has now played in 52.01% of the 1440 Lotto Texas drawings. Prior to Saturday’s drawing, the {3-2-1} Pattern was seen in the April 15, 2017 drawing, which was the Saturday prior.

Making its 113th appearance, the 1 3 2 Specific Order has now played in 15.1% of the 749 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern appeared, and in 7.85% of all 1440 drawings. This Specific Order previously played in the April 12, 2017 drawing.

No repeating Four-Number or Five-Number Combinations made an appearance.

Powerball

Powerball’s {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore appearance. This time, the winning numbers were 21, 39, 41, 48, 63, and PB 6.

Winning Powerball numbers.

Now with 59 appearances, this Pattern has played in 36.4% of the 162 Powerball drawings. Recall that this Pattern was last seen in Wednesday night’s drawing.

Next, the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order made its 16th appearance, its first since the April 15th drawing a week ago. This General Order has played in 27.1% of the 59 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.88% of all Powerball drawings.

Finally, the 0 1 2 1 1 1 Specific Order made its fourth appearance. This Specific Order has now played in 25% of the 16 drawings where the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, as well as 6.78% of the 59 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. When taking all 162 drawings into account, this statistic becomes 2.47%. Prior to Saturday’s drawing, the 0 1 2 1 1 1 Specific Order was last seen on March 8, 2017.

As April starts to wind down and whispers of summer start to break through, are Lotto Texas and Powerball gearing up to end the month with a bang?

3-2-New

Any night where a Five-Number Combination repeats in Lotto Texas is going to be a tough act to follow. After this past Saturday, it wouldn’t have been unusual for Wednesday night to have been much quieter. If by “quiet”, it meant the second appearance of an uncommonly seen Pattern in the space of 11 days in Lotto Texas, or the debut of a Specific Order in Powerball, then April 19, 2017 had a quiet night, alright.

Lotto Texas

The not-so-often-seen {3-3} Pattern made its 124th appearance, with winning numbers 3, 4, 13, 22, 23, and 32.

Winning Texas Lottery numbers

With 1439 Lotto Texas drawings to date, this Pattern has played in 8.62% of them, and was last seen in the April 8, 2017 drawing about a week-and-a-half ago.

Now with 38 appearances, the 3 3 0 Specific Order has played in 30.6% of the 124 drawings where the {3-3} Pattern has appeared. This becomes 2.64% when looking at all 1439 drawings. To see when the 3 3 0 Specific Order previously played, refer to the October 22, 2016 drawing.

Another big development in Lotto Texas was the repeat appearance of two Four-Number Combinations. The Combinations this time around were

  • 3, 4, 23, 32, which debuted on December 17, 2008 and
  • 3, 4, 22, 23, which debuted on November 29, 2014
The repeating Four-Number Combinations in red.

Powerball

Powerball managed to take some of Lotto Texas’s thunder Wednesday night. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore appearance, with winning numbers 1, 19, 37, 40, 52, and PB 15.

Winning Powerball numbers.

With 58 appearances to date, this Pattern has played in 36.02% of the 161 drawings. Recall that this Pattern previously played in this past Saturday’s drawing.

Making its 13th appearance, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has played in 22.4% of the 58 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 8.07% of all 161 drawings. Prior to Wednesday, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order previously played in the April 8, 2017 drawing 11 days ago.

Perhaps the biggest development in Powerball was the debut of the 1 1 2 1 0 1 Specific Order. This Specific Order has now played in 7.69% of the 13 drawings where the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order appeared. When taking the 58 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern appeared, this becomes 1.72%, and 0.62% overall.

Will there be a major upset in one of the Saturday night drawings, or will it be a “normal” night?

Golden Explosion

The night before Easter was a busy one, with Lotto Texas seeing the lion’s share of the action. There was a Pattern encore, and a repeat appearance of a Five-Number Combination. The last time such an occurrence was covered on our blog was over six months ago. Talk about uncommon!

Lotto Texas

Right off the heels of Wednesday’s drawing, the {3-2-1} Pattern made its 748th appearance in the April 15th drawing. The winning numbers were 2, 11, 36, 40, 42, and 53.

Winning Lotto Texas numbers.

This reigning Pattern has now played in 52% of the 1438 Lotto Texas drawings so far.

Making its 111th appearance, the 2 1 3 Specific Order has now played in 14.8% of the 748 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. This statistic becomes 7.72% when taking all 1438 drawings into account. Prior to Saturday, this Specific Order previously played in the January 28, 2017 drawing.

The big draw of the evening was the repeat appearance of the Five-Number Combination 2, 36, 40, 42, and 53.

Five-Number Combination highlighted in red box.

Now, the key thing to remember when dealing with a Five-Number Combination is that there are five Four-Number Combinations that repeat as well. The Combinations were as follows:

  1. ) 36, 40, 42, 53
  2. ) 2, 40, 42, 53
  3. ) 2, 36, 42, 53
  4. ) 2, 36 50, 53
  5. ) 2, 36, 40, 42
The resulting Four-Number Combinations (blue box)

All of the above Combinations made their debut in the August 28, 2002 drawing. To put things in perspective, Wikipedia was in its infancy and cell phones were becoming more affordable. Smart phones? Forget about ‘em.

 Powerball

In contrast to Lotto Texas, Powerball didn’t see any repeating Combinations, nor did its {3-2-1} Pattern make an encore. Wouldn’t that have been something? However, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern retained its position as the most commonly seen Pattern. The 57th appearance was marked by winning numbers 5, 22, 26, 45, 61, and PB 13.

Winning Powerball numbers.

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played in 35.625% of the 160 Powerball drawings, and previously played in the April 8, 2017 drawing exactly one week prior.

The [1-2-1-1-1] General Order made its 15th appearance, and has now played in 26.3% of the 57 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. When looking at all 160 drawings, this statistic becomes 9.375%. This General Order was seen two weeks prior in the April 1, 2017 drawing. No foolin’.

Last, and certainly not least, the 1 2 0 1 1 1 Specific Order made its third appearance. This Specific Order has played in 20% of the 15 drawings where the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order appeared, 5.26% of the 57 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and 1.875% of all 160 drawings. Prior to Saturday, the last time the 1 2 0 1 1 1 Specific Order was seen was in the May 7, 2016 drawing.

Will Powerball grab a piece of the action in the week ahead, or will Lotto Texas continue to be the most active?

Mirror, Mirror

Lotto Texas and Powerball mirrored each other the night of April 12, 2017. If you were to look at just the Patterns, they were identical. If you were to take a deeper look, then you’d notice the many differences. One such difference is that this Pattern is very common in Lotto Texas, not so much in Powerball.

For those of you just tuning in to this humble blog (or need a reminder), the Lottery Trend analysis team never takes things at the surface level.

Lotto Texas

The {3-2-1} Pattern continued to dwarf all other Lotto Texas Patterns in the appearance department, with 747 to date. The winning numbers on Wednesday night were 5, 26, 30, 31, 46, and 54.

Winning Texas Lottery numbers.

This Pattern has now played in approximately 52% of the 1437 drawings, and was last seen in the April 5, 2017 drawing exactly one week ago.

Making its 112th appearance, the 1 3 2 Specific Order has played in 15% of the 747 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 7.79% of all 1437 drawings. Like the {3-2-1} Pattern, the 1 3 2 Specific Order previously played on April 5th.

As for repeating Four-Number Combinations, there were none to speak of.

Powerball

In contrast to Lotto Texas’s {3-2-1} Pattern, Powerball’s {3-2-1} Pattern isn’t very common at all. Having just made its seventh appearance last night, it’s one of the least commonly seen Patterns. The winning numbers were 8, 14, 61, 63, 68, and PB 24.

Winning Powerball numbers.

This Pattern has now played in 4.40% of the 159 Powerball drawings, and previously played in the February 18, 2017 drawing.

Now with five appearances, the [2-3-1] General Order has played in approximately 71.4% of the seven drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. When taking all the Powerball drawings into account, this statistic becomes 3.14%. The [2-3-1] General Order was last seen in the January 25, 2017 drawing.

Since there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations, let’s end the Powerball coverage with the debut of Specific Order 2 0 0 0 3 1. This Specific Order has now played in 20% of the five drawings where the [2-3-1] General Order has appeared, as well as about 14.3% of the seven drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. When considering all 159 drawings, this stat becomes 0.63%.

What was just discussed in this evening’s post was in fact covered once before here on Lottery Binge. It’s not often that the Patterns for both Lotteries would be the same! Now, with the next drawings being held the day before Easter, will there be golden eggs?

Rollercoaster Night

Posts that analyze Saturday night results are truly something here at Lottery Binge. There’s more to it than just two distinct lotteries having their own drawings.  Lotto Texas and Powerball have their moments when they both have blowout appearances, and others when they both keep it low-key. Sometimes, like what happened on April 8th, neither of these scenarios play out. Instead, we had one lottery where an uncommon Pattern played, and another where a very commonly played Pattern took the reins.

Lotto Texas

The not often seen {3-3} Pattern made its 123rd appearance with winning numbers 10, 11, 12, 47, 48, and 52.

Winning Texas Lottery numbers.

As there have been 1436 Lotto Texas drawings to date, this Pattern has now played approximately 9.14% of the time. Prior to Saturday, the {3-3} Pattern previously played in the February 15, 2017 drawing.

On the Specific Order side of things, 3 0 3 made its 45th appearance. This Specific Order has now played in 36.6% of the 123 drawings where the {3-3} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.13% of all drawings. Like the {3-3} Pattern, the 3 0 3 was last seen on February 15th.

Lotto Texas also gifted us with the repeating Four-Number Combination 10, 11, 12, and 47.

The repeating Four-Number Combo is highlighted.

This Combination made its debut near the end of last year in the December 28, 2016 drawing.

Powerball

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern is the most commonly seen Pattern in Powerball, and held onto its reign with winning numbers 23, 36, 51, 53, 60, and PB 15.

Winning Powerball numbers.

Now with 56 appearances, this Pattern has now played in 35.4% of the 158 Powerball drawings thus far. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern previously played in the April 1st drawing one week prior.

Next, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order made its 12th appearance, its first since the March 29, 2017 drawing. This General Order has played in approximately 21.4% of the 56 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.59% of all drawings.

Finally, the 0 1 1 2 1 1 Specific Order made its second-ever appearance. This Specific Order has now played in 16.67% of the 12 drawings where the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has appeared. Continuing onward, we see that this Specific Order has also played in 3.57% of the 56 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.27% of all Powerball drawings. The 0 1 1 2 1 1 Specific Order made its debut in the November 5, 2016 drawing.

Looking to the week ahead, will any Pattern streaks be established, or will even rarer Patterns appear?

No Foolin’

April is now in full swing and another Wednesday has come and gone. The results from Lotto Texas and Powerball showed that April 5th was far from a quiet night. Lotto Texas saw most of the excitement, but don’t count Powerball out!

Lotto Texas

The {3-2-1} Pattern made an encore appearance, with winning numbers 8, 20, 21, 26, 51, and 52.

Winning Texas Lottery numbers.

With 746 appearances, this Pattern continues to leave all other Lotto Texas Patterns in the dust. As of Wednesday, it has played in roughly 52% of the 1435 drawings. Recall that the {3-2-1} Pattern previously played in Saturday’s drawing.

The 1 3 2 Specific Order made its 111th appearance. Like the {3-2-1} Pattern, this Specific Order was also last seen this past Saturday. With that said, the 1 3 2 Specific Order has now played in 14.9% of the 746 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.74% of all Lotto Texas drawings.

Although there were no repeating Four-Number Combinations, we saw not one, but two similar spreads in Wednesday’s drawing. One of these similar spreads was 05:01:01:12:25, and the winning numbers for the night of April 4th, 2007 were 8, 13, 14, 15, 27, and 52. Another similar spread came in the form of 05:12:01:01:25 on February 16th, 2008. The winning numbers were 9, 14, 26, 27, 28, and 53. Given that the winning numbers from Wednesday night were 8, 20, 21, 26, 51, and 52, the spread was 12:01:05:25:01.  As is the nature of similar spreads, the differences between numbers in these drawings were the same, but the orders were different.

What antics did Powerball get up to?

Powerball

Compared to Lotto Texas, Powerball was much calmer. There were no similar spreads, nor were there repeating Three-Number Combinations. Even so, that didn’t stop the debut of a new Specific Order.

Wednesday’s drawing marked the 29th appearance of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern, with winning numbers 8, 20, 46, 53, 54, and PB 13.

Winning Powerball numbers.

This Pattern has now played in 18.5% of the 157 Powerball drawings and was last seen in the March 4th drawing, which was a little more than a month ago.

Next, the [1-1-3-1] General Order made its 12th appearance, its first since the February 15th, 2017 drawing. This General Order has now played in 41.4% of the 29 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.64% of all drawings.

Our Lottery Trend analysis/recap for Powerball concludes with the debut of the 1 1 0 3 0 1 Specific Order. This has now played in 8.33% of the 12 drawings where the [1-1-3-1] General Order has appeared, 3.45% of the 29 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.64% of all drawings.

Looking ahead to Saturday, will another Specific Order make its debut? Will the {3-2-1} Pattern in Lotto Texas go for a three-peat appearance?

Once Again–No Combination Repeats, But Two Reigning Patterns Return!

Well, Lottery Trend Fans, this is guest blogger, Romulun Harris, about to give his last post for a while. To begin, the reigning patterns in both Lotto Texas and Powerball made their return. And now the details.

Lotto Texas

There were no repeats in Four-Number Combinations.

Powerball

Last night on April 1, 2017, the winning numbers for Powerball were 9, 32, 36, 44, 65, and PB 01.

The 1 0 2 1 1 1 Specific Order last played on January 18, 2017.

There were no repeats in Three-Number Combinations.

Yeah, that’s right! No number combination repeats (i.e., at the three-four-level for Powerball and Texas Lottery respectively) in either Lotto Texas or Powerball!

And now, before I leave you all, I would like to thank Freyja Harris for this opportunity to blog to you all for the past two weeks while she was on vacation in Japan. Freyja will be back on Wednesday to fill in on the details while I continue my duties as analyst for lotterytrend-megamillions.com. Until the time comes again when I have to fill in for Freyja, this is Romulun Harris signing off.
