Tonight’s Episode: “An August Rewind” or “Never Count This Pattern Out”

September 12^th was National Chocolate Milkshake Day in Lottery Trend Country. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, frosty chocolate milkshakes scream “Summer”. As summer begins to fade in our part of the world, Mega Millions had a summer throwback. By “throwback”, we mean “Three weeks ago (give or take a couple of days).”

The ever-lovable {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 171^st appearance Tuesday night. This time around, the winning numbers were 26, 37, 41, 54, 65, and MB 3.

This Pattern has played in 42% of the 407 Mega Millions drawings.

With 49 appearances, the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has played in 28.7% of the 171 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in approximately 12% of all 407 drawings.

The 0 1 2 1 1 1 Specific Order made its tenth appearance, and has now played in 20.4% of the 49 drawings where the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has played in 5.85% of the 171 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 2.46% of all 407 drawings.

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

As we continue to ease into autumn, will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern go for an encore Friday night, or will we see another Pattern? Will that Pattern be accompanied by a General Order and Specific Order that played alongside it once before?

Of Common Patterns

After a quiet night, the lotteries came swinging on September 9^th. Both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw their most commonly played Patterns, and were accompanied by a repeating Four-Number and Three-Number Combination, respectively. Also, in what may have been the biggest play of the evening, a Specific Order played for the first time in over a year!

Lotto Texas

Right off the heels of this past Wednesday’s drawing, the {3-2-1} Pattern made its 771^st appearance. The winning numbers were 9, 26, 32, 34, 42, and 51.

This Pattern has now played in 52.1% of the 1480 Lotto Texas drawings.

Making its 118^th appearance, the 1 3 2 Specific Order has played in 15.3% of the 771 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and 7.97% of all 1480 drawings. This Specific Order did not make an encore. Prior to Saturday night, the 1 3 2 Specific Order was last seen in the July 29^th, 2017 drawing.

The repeating Four-Number Combination of the evening was 9, 26, 42, 51.

Powerball

With 77 appearances, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern is the King of Powerball Patterns. Saturday’s winning Patterns were 6, 20, 29, 57, 59, and PB 22.

This Pattern has played in 38.1% of the 202 Powerball drawings, and previously played on August 26^th, 2017.

Now with 24 appearances, the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order has played in 31.2% of the 77 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1-} Pattern has appeared, and in 11.9% of all 202 drawings. Prior to Saturday night, we last saw this General Order in the August 16^th, 2017 drawing.

Making its seventh appearance, the 1 1 1 0 2 1 Specific Order has played in 29.2% of the 24 drawings where the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 9.09% of the 77 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.47% of all 202 drawings. This Specific Order hadn’t been seen in over a year. The last time we saw the 1 1 1 0 2 1 Specific Order was in the July 20^th, 2016 drawing.

Will Wednesday night feature a repeat appearance for either the {3-2-1} or the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern?

4 X {2-1-1-1-1} = Persistence

Irma, the strongest hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic Basin, has devastated the island nations of Barbuda, St. Martin, and St. Bart. This storm is predicted to make landfall in Puerto Rico and the Bahamas, and then slam into Florida. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those having been affected by the storm. Mother Nature is a harsh mistress indeed.

Here in our part of Lottery Trend Country, Tuesday would have been the day classes resumed. Due to the historic rains last week, the kids got some more time off. Even if you’re way past the age of going to school, don’t panic! We here at Lottery Binge stick to our promise about you guys not having to do any math. The title of this evening’s post is about Mega Millions’s favorite Pattern: {2-1-1-1-1}. See, there have been a couple of occasions this summer where this Pattern went on to play at least four times. Right off the heels of this past Friday’s drawing, the night of September 5^th saw a third instance of a {2-1-1-1-1} four-peat! Just the sheer persistence of this Pattern may in fact supersede last summer’s six-peat during the Rio Olympics.

Anyway, Tuesday’s winning numbers were 11, 17, 59, 70, 72, and MB 1, bringing the number of appearances of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern to 170.

This Pattern has now played in approximately 42% of the 405 Mega Millions drawings.

The [1-1-1-2-1] General Order has now played 41 times, and in 24.1% of the 170 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 10.1% of all 401 drawings. Unlike the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, the [1-1-1-2-1] did not make a four-peat appearance. Heck, it didn’t even make an encore. This General Order was in fact last seen in the June 27^th, 2017 drawing.

Making its third appearance, the 1 1 0 1 2 1 Specific Order has played in 7.32% of the 41 drawings where the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 1.76% of the 170 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.74% of all 405 drawings. Prior to Tuesday night, this Specific Order was seen in the June 23^rd, 2017 drawing.

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern go on to make a fifth consecutive appearance, or will another Pattern have its day in the sun?

The Calm After the Storm

Labor Day weekend: the last “official” holiday of the summer. In some parts of the US, Labor Day itself is one of the last, if not the last day of summer vacation. With barbecue and beach visits being traded out for bento boxes and book bags, Mega Millions kicked September off with a three-peat.

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 169^th appearance in the September 1, 2017 drawing, with winning numbers 4, 13, 31, 50, 64, and MB 12.

This Pattern has now played in 41.8% of the 404 Mega Millions drawings.

Now with 43 appearances, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has played in 25.4% of the 169 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 10.6% of all 404 drawings, and appeared alongside the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in the August 29, 2017 drawing.

Making its 10^th appearance, the 2 0 1 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 23.3% of the 43 drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, and in 5.92% of the 169 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 2.48% of all 404 drawings. Prior to Friday night, the 2 0 1 1 1 1 Specific Order was last seen in the June 20, 2017 drawing.

Friday night’s drawing didn’t produce any repeating Three-Number Combinations.

As things slowly return to “normal” for coastal Texas/Louisiana, will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern be daring enough to go for a fourth consecutive appearance?

Lottery Pick-Me-Up

The rain has finally stopped for us, which should make rescue and recovery efforts a bit easier. However, Harvey’s like the Energizer Bunny. The people of the Golden Triangle region of Texas, as well as Southwestern Louisiana, are still getting pounded by torrential rain. On the (much) lighter side of things, Mega Millions saw an encore for the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern Tuesday night.

With its 168^th appearance on August 29^th, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has now played in 41.7% of the 403 drawings. The winning numbers were 2, 13, 17, 35, 73 and MB 3.

Making its 42^nd appearance, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has played in 25% of the 168 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 10.4% of all 403 Mega Millions drawings, and was last seen on July 18^th, 2017.

Now with nine appearances, the 2 1 1 0 1 1 Specific Order has played in 21.4% of the 42 drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 5.36% of the 168 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 2.23% of all drawings. Prior to Tuesday night, we last saw the 2 1 1 0 1 1 Specific Order in the July 14^th, 2017 drawing.

As the remnants of Harvey finally push onward and upward, will Friday’s drawing see a three-peat for the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, or will it be swept by the current?

A Night of Whammies

We got lucky. Taken the Sunday after the storm.

The storms produced by Harvey on August 26^th knocked out our electricity, and we got our power back just a few hours ago. Our street flooded, and we didn’t get any water in the house, thankfully. However, the same couldn’t be said for thousands of others, to whom we send our thoughts and prayers. With the forecast for even more rain as the storm trudges into the Gulf again, we truly are, pardon the expression, in uncharted waters.

On the lottery side of things, both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw their most commonly played Patterns that night.

Lotto Texas

The {3-2-1} Pattern went for the three-peat Saturday night. With winning numbers 7, 11, 33, 41, 43, and 49, this Pattern has played in 769 drawings.

Statistics-wise, this Pattern has now played in 52.1% of the 1476 Lotto Texas drawings.

The {3-2-1} Pattern wasn’t the only encore that evening; the 2 1 3 Specific Order made its 113^th appearance. With that said, this Specific Order has played in 14.7% of the 769 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.66% of all 1476 drawings.

There were no repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Powerball

With winning numbers 7, 15, 32, 38, 66, and PB 15, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has now played 76 times.

This Pattern has played in 38.4% of the 198 Powerball drawings and was last seen in the August 19, 2017 drawing.

Now with seventeen appearances, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has played in 22.4% of the 76 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern appeared. This General Order has also played in 8.59% of all 198 drawings and was last seen in the July 22, 2017 drawing.

Making its seventh appearance, the 1 1 2 0 1 1 Specific Order has played in 41.2% of the 17 drawings where the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has appeared, and in 9.21% of the 76 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has now played in 3.54% of the 198 drawings, and was last seen in the June 24, 2017 drawing.

Life—and Mega Millions—Goes On

We ask our readers to keep the people of Texas in your thoughts. The area around Corpus Christi got a walloping last night from Hurricane Harvey. Although the Houston metro area is far away from the eye, we here at Lottery Binge lost our power for about forty-five minutes last night. Even though the storm has made landfall, it’s not over yet. Near-historic rainfall is predicted for much of coastal Texas, and if the recent past is anything to go by, Houston does not cope with flooding well.

Despite Mother Nature, Mega Millions took the old saying “The show must go on” to heart. While Harvey smashed into the Texas coast, there was no three-peat for the {3-1-1-1} Pattern. Instead, we saw the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in the August 25^th drawing. With winning numbers 17, 38, 42, 51, 65, and MB 11, this Pattern has now played 167 times, and remains second-to-none.

Prior to Friday night, we last saw this Pattern earlier in the month. To be more specific, it was during the August 8, 2017 drawing. This Pattern has now played in 41.5% of the 402 Mega Millions drawings.

Making its 48^th appearance, the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has played in 28.7% of the 167 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 11.9% of the 402 Mega Millions drawings, and was last seen in the July 21, 2017 drawing.

Now with nine appearances, the 0 1 2 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 18.75% of the 48 drawings where the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 5.39% of the 167 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 2.24% of all 402 drawings. Two fevers have struck Lottery Trend Country. From coast-to-coast, people are getting ready to view a solar eclipse, and the Powerball jackpot continues to soar to crazy heights. Of course, Powerball is no stranger to such. Amidst the last-minute shopping, be it for school supplies or eclipse glasses, both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw their most commonly seen Patterns the night of August 19^th. As for repeating Four-Number Combinations, there was only one.

Lotto Texas

Saturday’s winning numbers were 17, 20, 27, 38, 43, and 53, bringing the number of appearances of the {3-2-1} Pattern to 767.

This Pattern has now played in 52% of the 1474 Lotto Texas drawings, and was last seen in the August 12^th drawing exactly a week prior.

Making its 142^nd appearance, the 1 2 3 Specific Order has played in 18.5% of the 767 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.63% of all 1474 drawings. Prior to Saturday night, we last saw this Specific Order in the July 22, 2017 drawing.

The repeating Four-Number Combination of the evening was 17, 20, 43, and 53, which made its debut in the April 4, 2009 drawing.

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore appearance, with winning numbers 17, 19, 39, 43, 68, and PB 13.

This Pattern has now played 75 times, and in 38.3% of the 196 Powerball drawings.

Making its sixteenth appearance, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has played in 21.3% of the 75 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 8.16% of all 196 drawings. We last saw this General Order in the July 5, 2017 drawing.

There were no encores for either Lotto Texas or Powerball Wednesday night. For those of you who just love repeating Four-Number Combinations, August 16^th was a special night indeed. Now, you’re probably wondering “What’s the big deal? You guys mention repeating Four-Number Combinations a lot!”

Would you believe that the repeating Four-Number Combination was in Powerball? That’s like seeing snow in Florida.

Winning numbers 11, 14, 15, 18, 19, and 26 marked the 166^th appearance of the {4-2} Pattern.

This Pattern has now played in 11.3% of the 1473 Lotto Texas drawings, and was last seen in the June 21^st, 2017 drawing.

Making its 32^nd appearance, the 4 2 0 Specific Order has played in 19.3% of the 166 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 2.17% of all 1473 drawings. To see when this Specific Order previously played, we need to go back to the beginning of this year. More specifically, the January 7^th, 2017 drawing.

Powerball

Wednesday night was Powerball’s time to shine. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, ever-so-plucky, made its 74^th appearance, right after a (very) short break. This time around, the winning numbers were 9, 15, 43, 60, 64, and PB 4.

This Pattern has now played in 37.9% of the 195 Powerball drawings, and was last seen on August 9^th.

With 23 appearances, the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order has played in 31.1% of the 74 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 11.8% of all drawings. This General Order was last seen exactly two weeks prior in the August 2^nd drawing.

Making its sixth appearance, the 1 1 0 1 2 1 Specific Order has played in 26.1% of the 23 drawings where the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in approximately 8.11% of the 74 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.08% of all 195 drawings. Like the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order, this Specific Order was also last seen in the August 2^nd drawing.

Gettin’ Back Together

The {3-2-1} Pattern in Lotto Texas couldn’t bear to be without Powerball’s {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. After a brief breakup on Saturday, the two were seen together again the night of August 9^th. The night was a special one, for the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its sixth consecutive appearance! In Powerball, at least.

Wednesday’s winning numbers were 1, 7, 24, 27, 35, and 44, bringing the number of appearances of the {3-2-1} Pattern to 765.

This Pattern has played in 52% of the 1471 Lotto Texas drawings, and was last seen in the August 2, 2017 drawing.

With 125 appearances, the 2 3 1 Specific Order has played in 16.3% of the 765 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 8.50% of all 1471 drawings. Prior to Wednesday, this Specific Order was last seen in the March 15, 2017 drawing.

The {3-2-1} Pattern was accompanied by repeating Four-Number Combination 7, 24, 27, and 35.

This Combination made its debut in the December 5, 2012 drawing.

Powerball

As we mentioned earlier, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has now played six times in a row. The momentous occasion was marked by winning numbers 12, 30, 36, 47, 62, and PB 9, bringing the number of appearances of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern to 73.

This six-timing Pattern has now played in 37.8% of the 193 Powerball drawings.

Making its 20^th appearance, the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has played in 27.4% of the 73 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 10.4% of all 193 drawings. This General Order was seen alongside the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in this past Saturday’s drawing.

With six appearances, the 1 0 2 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 30% of the twenty drawings where the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 8.22% of the 73 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.11% of all 193 drawings.
