{2-1-1-1-1} 2: Combination Boogaloo

Ah, summertime. A time of cookouts, parties, and repeats. Yes, repeats. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was so nice, Mega Millions played it twice! Friday night also saw the appearance of a repeating Three-Number Combination.

With 158 appearances, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern reigned supreme. June 23rd’s winning numbers were 12, 20, 53, 66, 74, and MB 11.

This Pattern has now played in 41.1% of the 384 Mega Millions drawings. To put things in perspective, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern, the second-most commonly played, has appeared in 114 drawings.

Making its 39th appearance, the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order has now played in 24.7% of the 158 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 10.2% of all 384 drawings. Unlike the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, this General Order did not make an encore appearance. The [1-1-1-2-1] General Order was last seen in the June 2nd, 2017 drawing.

The 1 1 0 1 2 1 Specific Order made its second appearance, and has now played in 5.13% of the 39 drawings where the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 1.27% of the 158 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern appeared, and in 0.52% of all 384 drawings. The 1 1 0 1 2 1 Specific Order made its debut in the October 14th, 2016 drawing.

The repeating Three-Number Combination of the evening was 12, 20, 66, and it made its debut in the August 9th, 2016 drawing.

Fun fact: This Combination made its debut in the middle of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern “six-peat” during the Rio Olympics!
