Milestone and Playback

Although it sounds like the title of a Z-grade throwback buddy cop film, we can assure you it’s not! July 18, 2020 was a historic day to be sure. Powerball had its 500th drawing and to celebrate, Lotto Texas saw a playback. Strange, that. Along with reaching an important milestone, Powerball saw its jackpot rise to $106 million. Lotto Texas continued to enjoy the thrill of a large jackpot, large for it, anyway. With no one selecting all six winning numbers, the Lotto Texas prize climbed to $27.25 million.

The playback, and the 944th appearance of the {3-2-1} Pattern, was thanks to 11, 15, 22, 29, 34 and 44.

Four-Number Combinations

  • 11, 15, 29, 44 (Debuted October 12, 2019)
  • 11, 22, 29, 44 (Debuted October 9, 2010)

Rising on the Sea of Encore

As we’ve gotten deeper into summer, the temperature hasn’t been the only thing rising! The Mega Millions jackpot rose yet again, and it was thanks to a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore. Said encore raised the jackpot to $113 million.

Three-Number Combinations

It was too hot outside to even bother with repeating Three-Number Combinations, so goes Mega Millions’ logic.

Is a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern three-peat in the cards, and will it boost the jackpot even higher?

Over the $100 Million Hump

After getting knocked down last month, it didn’t take long for the Mega Millions jackpot to dust itself off and climb up again! With no one able to pick the six winning numbers, the prize made it just over the $100 million mark. To be more specific, the prize jumped to $101 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The July 14, 2020 Mega Millions drawing saw the 253rd appearance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, with winning numbers 6, 26, 55, 56, 64 and MB 22.

Three-Number Combinations

The excitement of making it over the $100 million left no energy to play a repeating Three-Number Combination.

Seeing the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern be the one to send the jackpot over the hump has created a perfect storm. This Pattern is notorious for Pattern streaks but there needs to be an encore first! Is one in the cards for the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern Friday night?

June is Pattern Streak Season

Lotto Texas has grown so much! Once a quiet, unassuming little lottery, it’s not only more confident, it has a large jackpot. This jackpot has grown over the course of several months, and thanks to the {3-2-1} Pattern streak, it received another boost! With no one able to pick all six winning numbers, the jackpot climbed to $23.5 million.

Powerball didn’t have a {3-1-1-1} Pattern encore to end its June run. Playing another Pattern sent the jackpot to $51 million.

The Heat of a Three-peat

It’s hot outside and it’s hot in Mega Millions! June is almost over, and this lottery continued to hold onto the {3-2-1} Pattern. The Pattern’s three-peat made things unbearably hot for the players, with no one able to claim the grand prize. Naturally, the jackpot went up; $53 million is now up for grabs.

Forty-Four Million Step Encore Program

Forty-four million steps. That’s roughly 3.67 million people going through a Twelve-Step program all at once. If there are 806 kilometers in one million steps of average stride, then 44 million steps would be 35,464 kilometers. Today’s post is about a different kind of 44 million.

After the June 23, 2020 Mega Millions drawing, $44 million is the prize now up for grabs. And it was brought about by a Pattern encore.

General Lottery Analysis

Sticking with What Mega Millions Knows

Mega Millions learned a Very Important Lesson ™ in being itself June 19, 2020. Rather than borrow from Lotto Texas, it decided to stick with what it knew. Instead of a {3-2-1} Pattern three-peat, this lottery returned to its most commonly seen Pattern: {2-1-1-1-1}. And it wasn’t just the appearance of a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern that sent the jackpot to $35 million!

With Mega Millions returning to its roots, so to speak, will it stick with the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern for the rest of the month?

The Fight for Dominance

Today’s title isn’t something you’d expect for a Lottery Binge post. But you see, things haven’t been exactly “normal” in the lottery world these past few weeks. We had a lottery that’s known for its respectability (rhymes with “Potto Lexus”) become the one with the largest jackpot. In fact, this past Saturday saw its jackpot rise (again!) to $21.25 million. Powerball, determined to not have its jackpot won so easily, pulled itself back up. With no one able to pick all six numbers, the jackpot rose to $22 million.

With Powerball on top, it appears that the “rightful” order has been restored. As we head into another week of lottery madness, will Powerball get past $22 million this time? Will the Lotto Texas jackpot keep climbing?

The Twisted Jackpot Tale

For the longest time, Lotto Texas was the “respectable” lottery. While Mega Millions and Powerball flirted with monstrously large jackpots from time to time, Lotto Texas never dared to go that high.

Sometime over the past few months, it developed an attitude shift. We’re not sure when this change in personality occurred, but June 6, 2020 was another night that the Lotto Texas jackpot resisted a takedown. As a result, it climbed to $20.75 million.

Powerball’s reset point isn’t as high as it once was. Whether that caused a boost in Lotto Texas’s confidence remains to be seen. Regardless, a prize that bumped up to $22 million is plenty to start that (early) retirement nest egg!
