Mardi Gras will be upon us soon. King cake is flying off the bakery shelves and the orders for crawfish, or crayfish for our non-US readers, keep coming. On the lottery side, things have slowed down a bit, but Mega Millions still had a strong showing on Friday night. The most commonly seen Pattern made an encore, and we also saw a Specific Order that hadn’t been seen in almost a year.
The winning numbers for the February 24th, 2017 drawing were 12, 29, 33, 42, 68 and MB 14.

With 140 appearances, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern retained its position as the most commonly seen Pattern and has now played in 40% of the 350 drawings to date. Recall that this Pattern was last seen in Tuesday’s drawing.
The [1-1-2-1-1] General Order made its 33rd appearance and has now played in approximately 23.6% of the 140 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in approximately 9.43% of all drawings. Unlike the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order did not make an encore. To see when this General Order previously played, we need to go back to the January 27th drawing, which was nearly a month ago.
Next, the 1 1 2 0 1 1 Specific Order made its third appearance, its first in nearly a year. This Specific Order previously played in the March 22nd, 2016 drawing. With that said, the 1 1 2 0 1 1 Specific Order has now played in 9.09% of the 33 drawings where the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has appeared, 2.14% of the 140 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} drawing has appeared, and in approximately 0.86% of all drawings.
Our Mega Millions coverage concludes with the repeat appearance of the Three-Number Combination 29, 33, and 68.

This Combination made its debut in the July 25th, 2014 drawing.
Will Mega Millions end the month with a {2-1-1-1-1} three-peat?
