November was quite a month for Mega Millions, full of excitement and upsets. On the surface, the November 29th drawing looked…normal. No Australia Play, no encore or three-peat Pattern, and certainly no repeating Three-Number Combinations! Of course, even a “normal” drawing isn’t always what it seems to be in the lottery! What’s so special about the eleventh that we need to remember it, anyways?
For starters, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern was last seen on November 11th, 2016. Tuesday’s drawing was the 52nd appearance of this Pattern, made possible by winning numbers 22, 33, 49, 51, 59, and MB 8.
The {3-1-1-1} Pattern has now played in 16% of the 325 Mega Millions drawings to date.
Next, we come to the [1-1-3-1] General Order, making its 20th appearance. This General Order has played in 38.5% of the 52 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 6.15% of all drawings. The [1-1-3-1] General Order was also previously seen in the November 11th drawing.
We wrap up our November Mega Millions coverage with the fifth appearance of the 011301 Specific Order. This Specific Order has now played in 25% of the 20 drawings where the [1-1-3-1] General Order has played. We’ve also seen it play in 9.62% of the 52 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.54% of all Mega Millions drawings. The 011301 Specific Order also played in the November 11th drawing!
December is on its merry way. Will Mega Millions mellow out or will it end the year with a bang?
It’s that time of year again. The Christmas shopping season is upon us and Lotto Texas and Powerball each left a gift in the November 26, 2016 drawing. Powerball was generous enough to give one lucky person two gifts.
Lotto Texas
Lotto Texas’s gift was the three-peat of the {3-2-1} Pattern on Saturday. The 729th appearance of this Pattern was made possible by numbers 2, 3, 22, 25, 32, and 42.
With 729 appearances, the {3-2-1} Pattern has played in 52.1% of the 1398 Lotto Texas drawings to date. In addition to the November 23rddrawing, this Pattern also played on November 19, 2016.
The 231 Specific Order made its 121st appearance, and has now played in 16.6% of the 729 drawings that the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 8.66% of all Lotto Texas drawings. Prior to Saturday, the 231 Specific Order also previously played in the November 23rd drawing.
Powerball
Powerball saw the 22nd appearance of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern, thanks to winning numbers 17, 19, 21, 37, 44, and PB 16.
As of Saturday, this Pattern has played in 18.3% of all 120 Powerball drawings. We last saw the {3-1-1-1} Pattern last weekend, in the November 19th drawing.
Moving on, we saw the [3-1-1-1] General Order play for the sixth time, and it also previously played in the November 19th drawing. The [3-1-1-1] General Order has now played in 27.3% of the 22 drawings that the {3-1-1-1} has played, and 5% of all Powerball drawings.
The 031101 Specific Order made its second appearance. As of Saturday, this Specific Order has played in 33.3% of the six drawings where the [3-1-1-1] General Order played, 9.09% of the 22 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has played, and 1.67% of all Powerball drawings. The 031101 Specific Order made its debut about a month ago, in the October 29, 2016 drawing.
Finally, we come to Powerball’s gift: the repeat of a Three-Number Combination. The Combination was 37, 44, and PB 16, which made its debut in the October 12, 2016 drawing.
The last Lotto Texas and Powerball drawings of the month will take place this coming Wednesday (November 30th). Will November end with a bang, or will things simmer down?
The Christmas season officially began in Lottery Trend Country with Black Friday. People far and wide crowded the malls and the big box stores for discounts and simply knocking out some, or all, their Christmas shopping. Mega Millions, having held out on us last time, gifted us with an interesting development.
The {2-2-1-1} Pattern made an encore appearance. Its 99th appearance was thanks to winning numbers 44, 47, 49, 69, 75, and MB 10.
As of November 25th, 2016, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has played in approximately 30.6% of the 324 drawings. Recall that this Pattern previously played earlier this week in the November 22nd drawing.
The [1-2-2-1] General Order made its 28th appearance, and it also previously played in the November 22nd drawing. The [1-2-2-1] General Order has played in 28.3% of the 99 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern played, and 8.64% of all Mega Millions drawings.
Next, the 001221 Specific Order played for the third time. This Specific Order has now played in 10.7% of the 28 drawings where the [1-2-2-1] General Order has played. Going further, the 001221 Specific Order has played in 3.03% of the 99 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern played and 0.926% of all drawings. Prior to Friday’s drawing, the 001221 Specific Order previously played in the August 12th, 2014 drawing.
We saw a Three-Number Combination repeat, thanks to numbers 44, 69, and MB 10.
This Combination made its debut August 12th, 2016, exactly two years after the Specific Order’s prior appearance. A development like this does not happen very often.
As we begin to wrap up November, what will Mega Millions gift us with next week?
The date: November 23, 2016. Thanksgiving Eve. Turkeys for deep frying were (hopefully) being thawed out, some people started camping overnight in front of stores, and bets were made as to which teams would win their football games. Meanwhile, there was an upset in the lottery world. Unlike the lull we saw in Mega Millions, we saw a few surprises in Lotto Texas and Powerball now has a true frontrunner for the title of Most Commonly Played Pattern.
Lotto Texas
Recall that in the November 19th drawing, we saw the {3-2-1} Pattern. If you played this on Wednesday, you were in luck! We saw an encore appearance of the {3-2-1} Pattern, bringing its total number of appearances to 728. This encore was brought to us by winning numbers 12, 16, 20, 21, 29, and 41.
Having played in 52.1% of the 1397 Lotto Texas drawings, the {3-2-1} is far and away the most commonly played Pattern.
The 231 Specific Order made its 120th appearance, its first since the November 2, 2016 drawing. This Specific Order has now played in 16.5% of the 728 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern played and in 8.59% of all 1397 drawings.
Our Lotto Texas coverage concludes with the analysis of not one, not two, but three Four-Number Combinations. Even more amazing is how these Combinations made their debut last decade! The Combinations were as follows:
16, 21, 29, and 41 first played October 7, 2000,
12, 16, 29, and 41 first played June 23, 2001, and
12, 20, 29, and 41 first played December 23, 2000
Seeing the Combinations above was like receiving a visit from old relatives. Said relatives seemed to have gotten stuck in a time warp, debating on whether to buy the VHS or the DVD version of their favorite movies. A couple of them even argued over whether the millennium began in 2000 or 2001. Before we get caught in the time warp ourselves, let’s move on to Powerball.
Powerball
A while ago, there was a phenomenon we called the Powerball Pattern Tango. This involved the {2-2-1-1} and the {2-1-1-1-1} Patterns, which both seemed to be locked into a never-ending one-upmanship. One day, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was the most commonly seen Pattern. Another day, it was the {2-2-1-1} Pattern. Some days, their number of occurrences was tied.
Now, we can say that there is now a true front-runner to the title of Most Commonly Played Pattern. That, ladies and gentlemen, is the {2-1-1-1-1}. With 42 appearances, this Pattern is now the most commonly played. This was made possible with winning numbers 7, 32, 41, 47, 61, and PB 3.
Now with 42 appearances, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared in 35.3% of all 119 Powerball drawings. We last saw this Pattern in the November 9th drawing, which wasn’t that long ago.
The General Order of the evening was [1-2-1-1-1], making its tenth appearance. The [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has now played in 23.8% of the 42 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played, and 8.40% of all Powerball drawings. This General Order, like the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, was last seen in the November 9th drawing.
Finally, we come to the 102111 Specific Order making its second appearance. This Specific Order has now played in 20% of the ten drawings where the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has played and 4.76% of the 42 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played. When looking at all 119 drawings, the 102111 Specific Order has played 1.68% of the time. The 102111 Specific Order made its debut in the December 30, 2015 drawing. Talk about a way to ring in the new year!
Now that we’re leaving Thanksgiving Land and entering The Christmas Zone, what presents will Lotto Texas and Powerball leave us in the weeks ahead?
‘Twas two nights before Thanksgiving and all through the land
Preparations began so things wouldn’t get out of hand.
Meat was prepped for smoking and roasting
While Mega Millions saw no need for boasting.
The Pattern and General Order saw nothing new
But a Specific Order made its debut!
The November 22nd drawing saw the 98th appearance of the {2-2-1-1} Pattern, thanks to winning numbers 1, 43, 45, 66, 69, and MB 7.
As of Tuesday, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has played in 30.3% of the 323 Mega Millions drawings. We previously saw this Pattern a little over a month ago, in the October 18th drawing.
The [1-2-2-1] General Order was also last seen in the October 18th drawing. Tuesday’s drawing brought this General Order’s tally up to 27 appearances. The [1-2-2-1] General Order has played in 27.6% of the 98 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and 8.36% of all Mega Millions drawings.
The biggest draw of the evening was the debut of the 102021 Specific Order. This Specific Order has now played in 3.70% of the 27 drawings where the [1-2-2-1] was the General Order of the evening. Additionally, the 102021 Specific Order has played 1.02% of the 98 drawings with the {2-2-1-1} as the winning Pattern, and approximately 0.31% of all 323 drawings.
When Mega Millions plays again, it will be Black Friday
And thousands of people will be pushing each other out of the way.
The holiday season is fast approaching. Thanksgiving is only a few days away and the Christmas shopping will soon follow, if it hasn’t crept up already. What better way to kick off the holidays than a slight warm-up in the lottery world? Although the November 19, 2016 Lotto Texas and Powerball drawings didn’t see any major plays, there was a surprise or two!
Lotto Texas
The 727th appearance of the {3-2-1} Pattern was made possible by winning numbers 15, 19, 21, 34, 40, and 49.
As of Saturday, the {3-2-1} Pattern has played in 52.1% of the 1396 Lotto Texas drawings. When it comes to Patterns, the {3-2-1} is second-to-none. We last saw this Pattern a week ago, in the November 12th drawing.
The {3-2-1} Pattern gave way to the 132 Specific Order, making its 107th appearance. This Specific Order has now appeared in 14.7% of the 727 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has played and 7.66% of all Lotto Texas drawings. Prior to Saturday’s drawing, the 132 Specific Order previously played in the October 26, 2016 drawing.
As quiet as November has been, the surprise of the evening was the appearance of two Four-Number Combinations. These were
15, 21, 40, and 49, which first played August 30, 2014 and
19, 21, 34, and 40, which first played October 10, 2007.
Powerball
Powerball saw a three-peat appearance of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern. The winning numbers this time around were 16, 24, 28, 43, 61, and PB 21.
Now with 21 appearances, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has played in 17.8% of the 118 Powerball drawings. Recall that the {3-1-1-1} Pattern not only appeared previously in the November 16th drawing, but the November 12th drawing as well.
We saw the [3-1-1-1] General Order make its fifth appearance, its first since the October 29th, 2016 drawing. This General Order has now played in 23.8% of the 21 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has played, and in 4.24% of all Powerball drawings.
Finally, we come to the 030111 Specific Order, making its second appearance. As of Saturday, the 030111 Specific Order has played in 40% of the five drawings where the [3-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, 9.52% of the 21 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has played, and 1.69% of all Powerball drawings. The 030111 Specific Order made its debut in the June 4, 2016 drawing.
Lotto Texas and Powerball will have their drawings again the day before Thanksgiving. Will we be in for a shocker, or will we be handed a giant turkey?
Thanksgiving is fast approaching in Lottery Trend Country and people far and wide are making their preparations and debating on which team to root for that day. Mega Millions took a more measured approach. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern did not make an encore appearance, and there were no major plays nor upsets. The November 18th, 2016 Mega Millions drawing could be summed up with one word: “normal”, or what would pass as such.
The 21st appearance of the {3-2-1} Pattern was marked with winning numbers 31, 32, 49, 55, 58, and MB 15.
As of Friday, the {3-2-1} Pattern has played in 6.52% of all 322 drawings to date. We last saw this Pattern not too long ago in the November 8, 2016 drawing.
The [2-3-1] General Order made its twelfth appearance and was last seen in the November 1, 2016 drawing. With that said, the [2-3-1] Pattern has appeared in 57.1% of the 21 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has played and 3.73% of all 322 drawings.
Despite the normalcy exhibited by Friday’s drawing, the most extraordinary event of the evening was the debut of the 002301 Specific Order. This now means that this Specific Order has played in approximately 8.33% of the 12 drawings that the [2-3-1] General Order has played. Going further, the 002301 Specific Order has played in 4.76% of the 21 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern appeared, and 0.31% of all Mega Millions drawings.
Will Mega Millions continue to wrap itself in the comforting blanket of normality? Will there be an upset just in time for Thanksgiving, or even Black Friday?
With a big temperature cool-down making its way through Lottery Trend Country, Lotto Texas and Powerball played it safe on November 16, 2016. How safe? They played so safe that they wrapped themselves up in the blanket of familiar plays. By “familiar” we mean “Patterns that we saw just last week.”
Lotto Texas
We saw the 118th appearance of the {3-3} Pattern thanks to winning numbers 4, 5, 7, 37, 43, and 51.
As of Wednesday, the {3-3} Pattern has played in 8.46% of the 1395 Lotto Texas drawings. We saw this Pattern last week in the November 9, 2016 drawing.
The 303 Specific Order made its 41st appearance. Like the {3-3} Pattern, it too was last seen on November 9th. This Specific Order has played in 34.7% of the 118 drawings where the {3-3} Pattern appeared, and has played in 2.94% of all drawings.
Powerball
Powerball saw an encore appearance of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern. The winning numbers were 28, 41, 61, 63, 65, and PB7.
Now with 20 appearances, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has played in 17.1% of the 117 Powerball drawings.
This gave way to the [1-1-3-1] General Order making its eighth appearance, its first since the October 15, 2016 drawing. The [1-1-3-1] General Order has now appeared in 40% of the 20 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern, and approximately 6.84% of all 117 drawings.
We wrap up our coverage with the 011031 Specific Order. Making its second appearance, this Specific Order has now appeared in 25% of the eight drawings the [1-1-3-1] General Order has played. When looking at the 20 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has played, this becomes 10%. This becomes 1.71% when looking at all 117 drawings. The 011031 Specific Order made its debut in the February 24, 2016 drawing.
Will Lotto Texas and Powerball continue to stay in their cool-down phase or will they warm up as the holiday season fast approaches?
We’re halfway through November, and it looks like autumn has finally arrived for us in Lottery Trend country. As some sense of normality tries to break through in the “real world”, the November 15th Mega Millions drawing was about as “normal” as you could get.
For starters, we saw the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, thanks to winning numbers 9, 17, 23, 57, 71, and MB 6. With 129 appearances, the {2-1-1-1-1} is the most commonly played Pattern by a healthy margin.
With that said, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played in 40.2% of the 321 Mega Millions drawings to date. This Pattern was previously seen earlier this month in the November 4th drawing.
The General Order of the evening was [1-2-1-1-1], making its 39th appearance. As of Tuesday night, this General Order has appeared in 30.2% of the drawings that the {2-1-1-1-1} has played. When taking all 321 drawings into account, we see that the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has played 12.1% of the time. Prior to Tuesday, the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order was previously seen in the October 21st, 2016 drawing.
We conclude our coverage with the eighth appearance of the 120111 Specific Order. This Specific Order has now played in 20.5% of the drawings where the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has appeared. When looking at the 129 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern, this becomes 6.20% of the time. The total percentage, when taking all 321 drawings into account, is 2.49%. To see when the 120111 Specific Order previously played, we need to go back to the September 27th, 2016 drawing.
As we head to the weekend and (US) Thanksgiving preparations get underway, will Mega Millions continue to give off a sense of “normality”, or will there be a surprise?
Lotto Texas and Powerball appear to have taken a cue from Mega Millions. There were no big plays on November 12, 2016, nor did the Powerball Pattern Tango take place.
Lotto Texas
The {3-2-1} Pattern made its 726th appearance, firmly holding onto the title of Most Commonly Played Pattern. This was thanks to winning numbers 1, 8, 16, 23, 29, and 40.
As of this past Saturday’s drawing, the {3-2-1} Pattern has played in 52.1% of the 1394 drawings. We previously saw this Pattern just last weekend in the November 5, 2016 drawing. Could popping up every other drawing be a new thing for the {3-2-1} Pattern?
Moving on to the Specific Order now, we saw 321 make its 129th appearance, its first since the October 1st, 2016 drawing. The 321 Specific Order has played in 17.8% of the 726 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. This shrinks to 9.25% when taking all 1394 Lotto Texas drawings into account.
Powerball
Powerball saw the 19th appearance of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern, brought to us by 8, 17, 20, 27, 52, and PB 24.
The {3-1-1-1} Pattern has played in 16.4% of the 116 Powerball drawings. This Pattern was previously seen in the October 29, 2016 drawing.
This gave way to the [1-3-1-1] General Order making its eighth appearance, its first since the October 12, 2016 drawing. The [1-3-1-1] General Order has now appeared in 42.1% of the 19 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern, and approximately 6.9% of all 117 drawings.
The biggest spark of the evening was the debut of the 130101 Specific Order. This Specific Order has now appeared in 12.5% of the eight drawings the [1-3-1-1] General Order has played. When taking the 19 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern played, this becomes 5.26%. This shrinks drastically to 0.86% when looking at all 116 drawings.
Looking to the week ahead, is the cool down a new trend or is this the calm before the storm?
