Brought Back Down to Earth

Super Bowl LI has come and gone. The New England Patriots won another Super Bowl in what will be remembered as a historical game. As the excitement wore down and everyone went back to their lives, Mega Millions followed suit. Instead of a three-peat of the {2-2-1-1} Pattern, another Pattern played entirely. There were also no repeating Three-Number Combinations to speak of.

The February 7^th, 2017 Mega Millions drawing gifted us with the 137^th appearance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. The winning numbers this time around were 23, 28, 37, 56, 71, and MB 12.

This Pattern has now played in 39.7% of the 345 drawings to date. We last saw the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in the January 27^th, 2017 drawing.

Next, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order made its 35^th appearance, its first since the January 20^th, 2017 drawing. This General Order has played in 25.5% of the 137 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 10.1% of all drawings.

Our Mega Millions coverage concludes with the 0 2 1 1 1 1 Specific Order, making its seventh appearance. As of Tuesday’s drawing, this Specific Order has played in 20% of the 35 drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order appeared, 5.11% of the 137 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern appeared, and in 2.03% of all drawings. The 0 2 1 1 1 1 Specific Order was last seen just two days before Christmas in the December 23^rd, 2016 drawing.

Will Friday night’s drawing be low-key or will it be an explosive start to the weekend?

Pre-Game Numbers Extravaganza

Saturday night, oh what a night! People partied hard and started prepping for the even larger party taking place the next day. On the lottery side of things, Lotto Texas and Powerball had a blowout Super Bowl party of their own. Lotto Texas saw a not-often-seen Pattern that produced not only two repeating Four-Number Combinations, but one Combination that has now played three times. Powerball, on the other hand, saw a Pattern creep its way back up, and possibly give the current champion a run for its money in the Most Commonly Seen department.

Lotto Texas

The February 4^th Lotto Texas drawing produced the 158^th occurrence of the {4-2} Pattern. The winning numbers were 8, 13, 19, 25, 26, and 29.

This Pattern has now played in 11.1% of the 1418 drawings to date, and was last seen in the January 14^th, 2017 drawing.

The 2 4 0 Specific Order made its 27^th appearance, its first since the September 10^th, 2016 drawing. This Specific Order has played in 17.1% of the 158 drawings where the {4-2} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.9% of all Lotto Texas drawings.

Lotto Texas’s biggest play of the evening was the repeat appearance of two Four-Number Combinations. These Combinations were:

8, 19, 25, 26 which debuted on January 14^th, 2014 and previously played in the July 23^rd, 2016 drawing and
8, 13, 19, and 29 which debuted in the February 15^th, 2016 drawing.

While we didn’t see anything that hadn’t played since the Napster days, seeing a Four-Number Combination play three times is impressive!

Powerball

Powerball didn’t have any repeating Three-Number Combinations, and it looks like the {2-2-1-1} Pattern is slowly catching up to the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in the number of appearances. Saturday’s drawing was the 46^th appearance of the {2-2-1-1} Pattern, with winning numbers 6, 13, 16, 17, 52, and PB 25.

This Pattern has now played in 32.9% of the 140 Powerball drawings to date. We last saw this Pattern in the January 21^st, 2017 drawing. We’ll need to keep an eye on {2-2-1-1}; if this Pattern makes an encore in Wednesday’s drawing, it won’t be the first time it has tied with {2-1-1-1-1} for most plays!

Moving on, the [2-2-1-1] General Order made its eighteenth appearance. Like the {2-2-1-1} Pattern, the [2-2-1-1] General Order was also last seen in the January 21^st drawing. This General Order has played in 39.1% of the 46 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 12.9% of all drawings.

Our Powerball coverage concludes with the 2 2 0 1 0 1 Specific Order making its fifth appearance. This Specific Order has now played in 27.8% of the 18 drawings where the [2-2-1-1] General Order has appeared, 10.9% of the 46 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.57% of all drawings. Prior to Saturday, the 2 2 0 1 0 1 Specific Order was last seen in the November 30^th, 2016 drawing.

As we look ahead to next week, will the {2-2-1-1} Pattern make an encore in Powerball? Will Lotto Texas see another Four-Number Combination make its third-ever appearance?

Touchdown, Mega Millions

Lottery Trend country is fully in the grips of Super Bowl weekend. Mega Millions itself may be impartial to whichever team wins, and (thankfully) can’t get fat from all the Super Bowl treats, but that didn’t mean it couldn’t mark the occasion in its own way. How, you wonder? The February 3^rd drawing saw an encore appearance of Tuesday’s Pattern, and saw a Three-Number Combination repeat!

For those who you keeping score, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern from Tuesday night played again in Friday’s drawing. This time around, the winning numbers were 3, 6, 29, 30, 64, and MB 3.

Now with 107 appearances, this Pattern has played in 31.1% of the 344 Mega Millions drawings to date. While impressive, it still has a ways to go before even thinking about overtaking the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, which has played 136 times.

Getting back to the {2-2-1-1} Pattern now, the [2-2-1-1] General Order made its 38^th appearance. This General Order has now played in 35.5% of the 107 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in approximately 11% of all drawings. We haven’t seen the [2-2-1-1] General Order in quite some time; it last appeared in the July 26, 2016 drawing.

If you thought six months (give or take a week) was a long time for a General Order to play again, then the 2 2 0 0 1 1 Specific Order hadn’t been seen for a little over a year. This Specific Order previously played in the November 17, 2015 drawing. Now having played seven times, the 2 2 0 0 1 1 Specific Order has played in 18.4% of the 38 drawings where the [2-2-1-1] General Order has appeared, 6.54% of the 107 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 2.03% of all drawings.

One of the biggest plays of the night was a repeat appearance of the Three-Number Combination 29, 64, and MB 3, which made its debut in the December 6, 2013 drawing.

Greet the New Month with Style

February may be the shortest month but it packs a punch. The Super Bowl is just a few days away, and Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. This year, February started on a Wednesday, which of course means Lotto Texas and Powerball had their drawings! Speaking of Lotto Texas, what better way to start the month than for it to see a Four-Number Combination that debuted almost fifteen years ago?

Lotto Texas

The February 1^st drawing gave us an encore appearance of the {3-2-1} Pattern with winning numbers 12, 19, 26, 29, 37, and 54.

This reigning champion of Patterns has now appeared 738 times and has played in 52.1% of the 1417 Lotto Texas drawings to date. The {3-2-1} Pattern, as you recall, made its appearance in this past Saturday’s drawing.

The 1 3 2 Specific Order, on the other hand, made its prior appearance in the November 19^th, 2016 drawing. This Specific Order has now appeared 108 times, and has played in 14.6% of the 738 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. The 1 3 2 Specific Order has also played in 7.62% of all drawings.

February 1^st also marked the repeat appearance of Four-Number Combination 12, 29, 37, and 54.

This Combination made its debut on April 10^th, 2002. To put things in perspective, this was just a few months before the music sharing service Napster shut down.

Powerball

Meanwhile, Powerball saw the {3-1-1-1} Pattern. The winning numbers were 9, 43, 57, 60, 64, and PB 10.

Now with 26 appearances, this Pattern has played in 18.7% of the 139 drawings. This Pattern previously played a few weeks back in the January 17^th drawing.

Like the {3-1-1-1} Pattern, the [1-1-3-1] General Order was last seen on January 17^th. This General Order has played in 38.5% of the 26 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.19% of all drawings.

Our lottery coverage of the evening concludes with the 1 0 0 1 3 1 Specific Order, playing for the second time. This Specific Order has now played in 20% of the 10 drawings where the [1-1-3-1] General Order has appeared, 7.69% of the 26 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.44% of all drawings. The 1 0 0 1 3 1 Specific Order made its debut in the October 8^th, 2016 drawing.

January has now come and gone. The days are getting longer (or shorter, depending on where you live), the Super Bowl is a few days away, and spring is just around the corner (right?). Mega Millions was the lucky lottery to end the month this year. While not a big blowout, the month did end on a high note, especially for those of you out there hoping for a repeating Three-Number Combination. Was it the Combination you were hoping for? Let’s find out!

The January 31st, 2017 drawing marked the 106th appearance of the {2-2-1-1} Pattern with winning numbers 3, 14, 27, 62, 72, and MB 4.

This Pattern has now played in 30.9% of the 343 Mega Millions drawings to date. We last saw the {2-2-1-1} Pattern earlier in the month on January 6^th.

The [2-1-2-1] General Order made is 38^th appearance, and like the {2-2-1-1} Pattern, previously played on January 6^th. This General Order has now played in 35.8% of the 106 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has played, and in 11.1% of the 343 drawings.

The 2 1 0 0 2 1 Specific Order played for the fourth time, making its first appearance since the February 26^th, 2016 drawing. This Specific Order has also played in 10.5% of the 38 drawings where the [2-1-2-1] General Order has played, 3.77% of the 106 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has played, and 1.17% of the 343 drawings.

The repeating Three-Number Combination of the evening was 14, 72, and MB 4, which made its debut in the September 27^th, 2016 drawing.

Australia Play Fever

Looks like something is starting to go around in lottery world! In our Wednesday coverage, Lotto Texas saw an Australia Play. That is, the Pattern, General Order, and Specific Order matched. Although there wasn’t an encore in Lotto Texas (how awesome would that have been?), Powerball got the bug.

Our coverage of the January 28^th Lotto Texas drawing begins with the 737^th appearance of the {3-2-1} Pattern. The winning numbers this time were 5, 7, 30, 48, 51, and 52.

This Pattern has played in approximately 52% of the 1416 drawings thus far, and was last seen in the January 11, 2017 drawing. Note that the {3-2-1} Pattern is far and away the most commonly seen Pattern in Lotto Texas.

The 2 1 3 Specific Order made its 110^th appearance, its first since the January 4, 2017 drawing. This Specific Order has played in 14.9% of the 737 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.77% of all drawings.

There were no repeating Four-Number Combinations in Lotto Texas this time around.

Powerball

Saturday night’s fireworks were primarily from the Powerball camp. The Australia Play made its 14^th appearance, thanks to winning numbers 12, 20, 39, 49, 69, and PB 17.

These numbers follow the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, and has now played in 14 of the 138 Powerball drawings. Given said Pattern, it follows that the [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order and the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order have also appeared 14 times. All of them have played in 10.1% of all the drawings. The last time we saw an Australia Play in Powerball was in the December 10, 2016 drawing.

Not only did we see an Australia Play, we also saw a repeating Three-Number Combination in the form of 12, 20, and PB 17.

This Combination made its debut a little over a year ago, in the November 4, 2015 drawing.

Will either Lotto Texas or Powerball see rarely-played Patterns in the week ahead? Will the Australia Play make an encore?

Everything’s Coming Up January

Friday night has come and gone, and compared to Tuesday’s drawing, this Mega Millions was quiet. What with Super Bowl fever sweeping across Lottery Trend country, it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary to expect Australia Plays, or repeating Three-Number Combinations, or even a combination of the two. This time around, Mega Millions decided to conserve its energy, perhaps for when Super Bowl weekend truly is upon us.

Nevertheless, the January 27, 2017 drawing marked the encore appearance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. The winning numbers were 17, 37, 53, 54, 61, and MB 8.

With 136 appearances, this Pattern remains the most commonly seen Pattern in Mega Millions, and has played in 39.8% of the 342 drawings to date. Recall that we saw the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in Tuesday’s drawing.

The [1-1-2-1-1] General Order made its 32^nd appearance, its first since the January 10, 2017 drawing a couple of weeks ago. This General Order has now played in 23.5% of the 136 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.36% of all drawings.

Our Mega Millions coverage concludes with the eighth appearance of the 0 1 1 2 1 1 Specific Order. This Specific Order has now played in 25% of the 32 drawings where the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has appeared, 5.88% of the 136 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 2.34% of all drawings. To see when the 0 1 1 2 1 1 Specific Order was last seen, we need to go back to January 15, 2016.

Wednesday Goes Boom

Talk about explosive! January 25, 2017 gifted us with not-commonly-seen Patterns in both Lotto Texas and Powerball. The lottery world was also graced with the debut of a new Specific Order.

Lotto Texas

The Pattern of the evening was {2-2-2}, gifted to us by winning numbers 1, 14, 19, 32, 37, and 46.

Not only did we see the 192^nd appearance of the {2-2-2} Pattern, we saw the 192^nd appearance of the [2-2-2] General Order and the 2 2 2 Specific Order. All three have now appeared in 13.6% of the 1415 drawings to date. For any new readers out there, we here at Lottery Binge like to call this setup an Australia Play. We last saw an Australia Play in the December 7, 2016 drawing.

This Australia Play brought us not one, but two repeating Four-Number Combinations.

1, 14, 37, 46 (debuted December 10, 2016) and
14, 19, 32, 37 (debuted February 17, 2016)

Powerball

Powerball may not have had an Australia Play, but it did have something rarer. The rarely-seen {3-2-1} Pattern made its fifth appearance. Yes, fifth! The winning numbers were 18, 28, 62, 66, 68, and PB 22.

This Pattern has played in 3.65% of the 137 Powerball drawings, and believe it or not, this was the Pattern to ring in the new year on January 4, 2017.

The [2-3-1] General Order was also last seen in the January 4^th drawing. Now with four appearances, this General Order has played in 80% of the five drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 2.92% of all drawings.

By process of elimination, Powerball is the one with a new Specific Order. The 0 2 0 0 3 1 Specific Order, to be precise. This Specific Order has now played in 25% of the four drawings where the [2-3-1] General Order has appeared, 20% of the five drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.73% of all Powerball drawings.

As we march on to the last weekend before the Super Bowl, will Lotto Texas and Powerball continue to surprise us with rarely-seen Patterns?

Friday Nights’ Supreme

Who doesn’t love Friday? For most of us, it’s the last day before the weekend, and of course, another Mega Millions day. What made the January 24^th drawing one for the record books was that everything, yes, everything, either previously played or debuted on a Friday night!

For starters, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore. The 135^th appearance was thanks to winning numbers 8, 42, 54, 63, 67, and MB 11.

This Pattern has now played in 39.6% of the 341 drawings. Recall that the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern previously played in this past Friday’s drawing.

Next, the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order made its 31^st appearance, its first since the Friday the 13^th drawing. This General Order has played in approximately 23% of the 135 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern appeared, and in 9.09% of all drawings.

Like the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order, the 1 0 1 1 2 1 Specific Order was last seen in the Friday the 13^th drawing. Now with 12 appearances, this Specific Order has played in 38.7% of the 31 drawings where the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order has appeared, 8.89% of the 135 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.52% of all drawings.

It’s not often that we see occurrences like the one from Tuesday. With roughly a week-and-a-half to go before Super Bowl LI, will Mega Millions bring on the weekend with a rough-and-tumble style, or will it take on a calmer demeanor?

Encores and Debuts

In an interesting turn of events, Saturday’s Lotto Texas drawing was an encore through-and-through. Of course, the numbers were different this time around. Meanwhile, Powerball saw a Specific Order make its debut.

Lotto Texas

The {3-3} Pattern made an encore appearance in the January 21^st drawing. The winning numbers this time around were 2, 13, 17, 39, 41, and 46.

Now with 121 appearances, this Pattern has played in 8.56% of the 1414 Lotto Texas drawings. Recall that we last saw the {3-3} Pattern in Wednesday’s drawing.

Like the {3-3} Pattern, the 3 0 3 Specific Order also made its last appearance in Wednesday’s drawing. With 43 appearances, this Specific Order has played in 35.5% of the 121 drawings where the {3-3} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.04% of all drawings.

Our Lotto Texas coverage concludes with the appearance of repeating Four-Number Combination 2, 13, 17, and 39.

To see when this Combination debuted, we need to go back to September 24^th, 2008. Eight years and three (going on four) months is quite a length of time to go before appearing again. Then again, that’s nothing compared to what we have seen.

Powerball

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 45^th appearance, with winning numbers 23, 25, 45, 52, 67, and PB 2.

This Pattern has played in 33.1% of the 136 Powerball drawings and was last seen in the New Year’s Eve drawing.

The [2-2-1-1] General Order made its 17^th appearance, bringing its play tally up to 37.8% of the 45 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and 11.6% of all drawings. Prior to Saturday, we last saw the [2-2-1-1] General Order in the December 14, 2016 drawing.

Saturday’s drawing marked the debut of the 0 2 0 2 1 1 1 Specific Order. This Specific Order has played in 5.89% of the 17 drawings where the [2-2-1-1] General Order has appeared. Additionally, it has played in 2.22% of the 45 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.68% of all drawings.

The repeating Three-Number Combination of the evening was 23, 25, and 67.

This Three-Number Combination debuted May 18, 2016, just a few days before Lottery Binge launched.
