Winter Comeback

Apparently, in some parts of Lottery Trend Country, and our northern neighbor, winter has yet to die. For those of us snapping pictures of loved ones in fields of bluebonnets, snow on the ground in April seems so…alien. Since we here at Lottery Binge have no bluebonnet photos of our own to share, we’re going to talk about another flower. A flower that doesn’t need water or soil. Just a hearty dose of analysis.

For starters, the April 3, 2018 Mega Millions drawing didn’t see an Australia Play encore. That certainly would’ve warmed things up! Instead, to celebrate the theme of winter’s, pardon the lame pun, icy hold, Tuesday night’s Pattern was a visit to winters past.

A Copycat and a Roaring Sheep

Lotto Texas and Powerball had the honor of closing out March, and what it a month it was! The biggest event was of course the six consecutive appearances of the {3-2-1} Pattern in Lotto Texas. The streak came to an end March 31st. And although one streak ended, another may be in the works.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

Funny how after the Australia Play in Mega Millions this past Friday, Lotto Texas decided to follow suit. With winning numbers 8, 16, 26, 27, 44, and 51, both the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order have played 212 times.

Given that there have been 1538 Lotto Texas drawings, the Australia Play has happened 13.8% of the time. We last saw one in the March 7, 2018 drawing.

With the Australia Play came a break in repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Although the Pattern streak in Lotto Texas came to an end, Powerball appeared interested in picking up the baton and running with it. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore appearance with winning numbers 8, 24, 52, 55, 61, and PB 21.

Out of the 260 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played in 36.2% of them. Recall that the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern previously played in the March 28, 2018 drawing. And, it’s the most commonly played Powerball Pattern.

With 18 appearances, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has appeared in 19.1% of the 94 drawings where the winning Pattern was {2-1-1-1-1}. This General Order has also played in 6.92% of all 260 drawings. Prior to Saturday night, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order was last seen in the August 26, 2017 drawing.

Now with five appearances, the 1 1 0 2 1 1 Specific Order has played in 27.8% of the 18 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-2-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 5.32% of the 94 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Finally, when looking at all 260 drawings, this Specific Order has played 1.92% of the time. It was a little more than a year ago when the 1 1 0 2 1 1 Specific Order made its last appearance. More specifically, it was the March 18, 2017 drawing.

The Kick is In

After the March 30, 2018 Mega Millions drawing, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern streak is no more. Never fret, streak lovers! Pattern streaks are bound to show up again this year. What caused the upset? Why, none other than the Australia Play of course! Not only did it kick the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern out of its streak, it made one player in New Jersey $521 million richer.

Given that there have been 345 Mega Millions drawings, that means the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order, and the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order have all played 2.32% of the time. We last saw an Australia Play in the September 19, 2017 drawing.

Three Number Combination(s)

Although an Australia Play came bounding across the numbers terrain, there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Instead of going out like a lamb, Mega Millions was more like a roaring sheep. We end March’s Mega Millions coverage with a demolished Pattern streak, and an Australia Play that went solo. Makes for a short post, we’ll admit.

Will April start with an Australia Play encore?

The {3-2-1} Pattern Connection

March 28, 2018 was a night for the Lotto Texas history books. The {3-2-1} Pattern did what no other Pattern, save one, had done before. Coincidentally, it too is dominating its lottery with a Pattern streak. From what we’ve observed lately, it’s safe to say that Pattern streaks are the easiest way for the most commonly seen Pattern to remain so.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

On Wednesday night, the {3-2-1} Pattern played for the sixth time in a row! Its 801st appearance was thanks to winning numbers 3, 13, 15, 22, 27, and 38.

Four-Number Combination(s)

Playback or no, the {3-2-1} Pattern has loved to grandstand this month. Wednesday night saw two repeating Four-Number Combinations:

  • 3, 13, 15, 38 (Debuted September 4, 2013)

Saturday night will feature the last Lotto Texas and Powerball drawings of the month. Will Lotto Texas go up and beyond? Will Powerball break that repeating Three-Number Combination drought?

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern Waltz

Over the past three drawings, Mega Millions found itself intertwined with the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. The results of the March 27, 2018 drawing made us bold enough to say it’s madly in love with the Pattern. So much so that the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its fourth consecutive appearance! What with this being the lottery and all, there’s no way that Tuesday night was as smooth as an actual waltz.

General Lottery Analysis

As we look to the week ahead, will the {3-2-1} Pattern do the unfathomable and go for a sixth consecutive appearance? Will the repeating Three-Number Combination drought in Powerball be quenched?

Streak on Down the Road

We’ve all heard of spring fever, yes? Well, Pattern streak fever struck Mega Millions in the March 23rd drawing. This phenomenon occurs when a Pattern has played at least three times in a row, and it can strike at any time of the year. All we can do is provide analysis. The only cure, if it can be called such, is to let the fever run its course.

General Lottery Analysis

Mega Millions just can’t get enough of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. For the third time in a row, this Pattern has graced the world with its presence. This time, the winning numbers were 4, 8, 23, 53, 59, and MB 17, bringing the number of appearances to 150.

Patterns in Bloom

Spring finally came to Lotto Texas and Powerball March 21st. Like “sister” Mega Millions, these lotteries got bit by the “Go big or go home” bug. Wednesday night was so big that there was a Pattern streak and a playback!

Being Green

St. Patrick’s Day. A holiday that, believe it or not, is more popular in the United States than it is in Ireland. Other words that come to mind for that day are usually “green”, “shamrock”, or “Guinness”. This year, Lotto Texas and Powerball had the honor of holding their drawings on St. Patrick’s Day. Well, night, technically. And what a night it was!
