An Encore and Crazy-Large Jackpot Fever

August 1st was not only Hump Day this year, it was also Lottery Night! Lotto Texas kicked off the month with a Pattern encore and a jackpot now at $14.5 million. Meanwhile, Powerball caught that “crazy large jackpot fever” from Mega Millions. The jackpot for Powerball crossed just over the $200 million mark: $203 million to be precise.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-2-1} Pattern came back for an encore with winning numbers 7, 12, 15, 35, 42, and 49. This Pattern has now played 821 times.

Given that there have been 1573 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has now played 52.2% of the time.

Now with 154 appearances, the 3 1 2 Specific Order has played in 18.8% of the 821 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern and in 9.79% of all 1573 drawings. Like the {3-2-1} Pattern, the 3 1 2 Specific Order also made an encore. Both were seen in this past Saturday’s drawing (July 28, 2018).

Four-Number Combination(s)

In addition to a playback, Lotto Texas saw a repeating Four-Number Combination that hasn’t been seen in nearly eighteen years!

Of the 295 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played in 35.3% of them and was last seen on July 21, 2018.

The [1-1-2-1-1] General Order made its 19th appearance and has now played in 18.3% of the 104 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has also played in 6.44% of all 295 drawings. Prior to Wednesday night, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order played on March 31, 2018.

Now with eight appearances, the 1 1 2 0 1 1 Specific Order has played in 42.1% of the 19 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-2-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 7.69% of the 104 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 2.71% of all 295 drawings. The End-of-Month Double Repeat (Sort of)

Summer’s almost over, but don’t worry! There are still a few weeks left of sleeping in before panic-shopping for Back to School. One thing that is over is July for Lotto Texas and Powerball. July 28, 2018 marked the last drawings of the month for both, and with no grand prize winners, their respective jackpots are now $13.75 million and $187 million. Despite their many differences, they did share one thing in common.

Lotto Texas

With winning numbers 7, 11, 15, 19, 44, and 49, the {3-2-1} Pattern made its 820th appearance.

Given that there have been 1572 Lotto Texas drawings to date, this Pattern has played 52.2% of the time.

Now with 153 appearances, the 3 1 2 Specific Order has played in 18.7% of the 820 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 1572 drawings into consideration, this Specific Order has played 9.73% of the time. Both the {3-2-1} Pattern and the 3 1 2 Specific Order played together in the July 18, 2018 drawing. When the Pattern and Specific Order played together on a previous date in Lotto Texas, this is called a playback.

Of the 294 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played 29.3% of the time and was last seen on July 18, 2018.

With 35 appearances, the [2-2-1-1] General Order has played in 40.7% of the 86 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has also played in 11.9% of all 294 drawings and played alongside the {2-2-1-1} Pattern in the earlier-mentioned July 18th drawing.

So far, it looks like Lotto Texas and Powerball were joined at the hip. Pattern-wise at least. Question is, was Powerball’s Specific Order also last seen on July 18, 2018?

Now with four appearances, the 0 2 0 2 1 1 Specific Order has played in 11.4% of the 35 drawings where the General Order was [2-2-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 4.65% of the 86 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Finally, when taking all 294 drawings into consideration, this Specific Order has played 1.36% of the time. The Australia Play Double Feature

Someone became at least $522 million richer after the July 24, 2018 Mega Millions drawing. Any lottery that had a drawing the next night would have its work cut out for it. Both Lotto Texas and Powerball rose to the occasion July 25th. Not only did their jackpots rise to $13 million and $168 million, respectively, they both saw an Australia Play! To learn more about what an Australia Play is, click here. Although the post covered Lotto Texas, the same principle applies to Powerball and Mega Millions.

Will either Australia Play do the “unthinkable” and go for an encore Saturday night? Will other Patterns be the ones to end July?

The Encore and Playback Fireworks Spectacular

Another Fourth of July has come and gone. Whether watching them from home or in a park, the holiday never seems to be complete without one thing: fireworks! Lotto Texas and Powerball put on their own fireworks show Wednesday night. In addition to rising jackpots – $9 million and $80 million, respectively – there was the display of a Pattern encore and a fine showing of a playback.

Sucker Punch Combinations & A Pattern Encore

June ended with a bang. With no grand prize winners in either Lotto Texas or Powerball, the jackpots are now $8.25 million and $70 million, respectively. Other noteworthy events were the end of the (brief) {3-2-1} Pattern streak in Lotto Texas and possibly the start of one in Powerball.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

Although the {3-2-1} Pattern didn’t see a “four-peat”, there was something else that might have rivaled it: an Australia Play! That is, the Pattern and the Specific Order were the same. Furthermore, the Specific Order is unique to said Pattern.

With winning numbers 5, 8, 29, 32, 40, and 48, both the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order made their 218th appearance.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Lotto Texas may have had the lion’s share of the action, but Powerball had its own plans. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore appearance with winning numbers 3, 9, 20, 42, 61, and PB 24.

Not only was this an encore, this marked the 100th appearance of the Pattern. With that said, there have been 286 Powerball drawings to date, and this Pattern has played in roughly 35% of them. Recall that the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern previously played this past Wednesday.

The [2-1-1-1-1] General Order, with 27 appearances, has now played in 27% of the 100 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has also played in 9.44% of all 286 drawings. We last saw the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order on June 2nd, 2018.

For those of you reading from the U.S., Wednesday is the Fourth of July. Will Lotto Texas and Powerball go all-out with encores and crazy (repeating) Combination action or will another surprise be in store?

The Patterns Take It Up a Notch

June 20, 2018 was an important date, to be sure! One, it was the last official day of spring, or autumn for those of you reading from the Southern Hemisphere. Lotto Texas said “Hello” to the new season with an increase in the jackpot, now at $7.5 million. Meanwhile, Powerball had its $151 million jackpot won by a single ticket sold in Oregon.  Despite their separate paths, both lotteries saw some common Patterns.

Lotto Texas

Of the 1561 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played 52.1% of the time. The {3-2-1} Pattern was last seen on June 13, 2018.

Now with 132 appearances, the 2 3 1 Specific Order has played in 16.2% of the 814 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. This Specific Order has also played in 8.46% of all 1561 drawings. Prior to Wednesday evening, this Specific Order was seen on April 7, 2018.

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 4, 14, 23, 27, 56, and PB 13, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 83rd appearance. Although one of the most common Patterns in Powerball, it’s not the most common.

83 appearances is nothing to sneeze at. Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Given that there have been 283 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played 29.3% of the time. The {2-2-1-1} Pattern previously played on June 9, 2018.

The [2-2-1-1] General Order made its 32nd appearance and has now played in 38.6% of the 83 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared. Additionally, it accompanied the {2-2-1-1} Pattern in the earlier-mentioned June 9th drawing. When looking at all 283 drawings, this General Order has played 11.3% of the time.

Will either Pattern make an encore appearance Saturday night?

Fanfare for the Common Pattern

After an encounter with an uncommon Pattern this past Saturday, June 13th saw Lotto Texas veer back onto a more “normal” path. Powerball, on the other hand, saw any hopes for a “three-peat” be dashed.

One thing that appeared “meant to be” after Wednesday night was the build-up for a potential blowout. With no grand prize winners for either lottery, the jackpots are now $7 million for Lotto Texas, and $137 million for Powerball. Another was the appearance of each lottery’s most commonly seen Pattern.

Given that there have been 1559 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played 52.1% of the time. This Pattern was last seen on June 6, 2018. Interestingly, that appearance was part of a {3-2-1} Pattern streak that carried over from the end of May.

Like the {3-2-1} Pattern, the 3 2 1 Specific Order had also previously played in the earlier-mentioned June 6th drawing. Now with 146 appearances, this Specific Order has played in 18% of the 813 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. This Specific Order has also played in 9.36% of all 1559 drawings.

Four-Number Combination(s)

Even with its most commonly seen Pattern, Lotto Texas went big with the {3-2-1} Pattern and the 3 2 1 Specific Order playing together again. It went even bigger with two repeating Four-Number Combinations!

Out of the 281 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played in 34.9% of them, and was last seen on June 2, 2018.

The [1-1-1-2-1] General Order made its 28th appearance Wednesday night. With that said, this General Order has played in 28.6% of the 98 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has also played in 9.96% of all 281 drawings. We last saw the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order on May 26, 2018.

Now with six appearances, the 1 1 1 2 0 1 Specific Order has played in 21.4% of the 28 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-1-2-1]. This Specific Order had played alongside the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order in the earlier-mentioned May 26th drawing. Continuing with the analysis, the 1 1 1 2 0 1 Specific Order has also now played in 6.12% of the 98 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 2.14% of all 281 drawings.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Playing an even more common Pattern than {2-2-1-1} was enough excitement for Powerball. There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations this time.

Will either the {3-2-1} Pattern or the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern see a repeat in Saturday’s drawing?

The Oddities of the {2-2-1-1} Pattern

In the last Mega Millions post, the question was whether the {2-2-1-1} Pattern would make an encore, or if something unexpected would happen.

The results of the June 8th lottery analysis pointed to…both.

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern not only made an encore, there were a few other surprises. That, combined with a jackpot now at $144 million, has turned up the heat in Mega Millions.

General Lottery Analysis

The 104th appearance of the {2-2-1-1} Pattern was thanks to winning numbers 14, 30, 33, 44, 56, and MB 13.

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern encore wasn’t alone. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Given that there have been 365 Mega Millions drawings, this Pattern has played 28.5% of the time. Remember, it was just this past Tuesday when this Pattern last appeared.

The encore appearance of the [1-2-2-1] General Order brought its total number of appearances up to 36. This General Order has now played in 34.6% of the 104 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. When looking at all 365 drawings, this General Order has played 9.86% of the time.

Despite the Pattern and General Order encores, this did not hold true for the Specific Order. Now with three appearances, the 1 0 2 2 0 1 Specific Order has played in 8.33% of the 36 drawings where [1-2-2-1] was the General Order. This Specific Order has also played in 2.88% of the 104 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.82% of all 365 drawings. Prior to Friday night, this Specific Order was seen on December 2nd, 2016. This was a little over 18 months ago.

A span of a year-and-a-half between Specific Order play dates is interesting, but it pales in comparison to what else took place Friday night.

Four-Number Combination

The {3-2-1} Pattern Saga Continues

One sequel isn’t enough these days! It’s common for there to be one movie after the original story, but nowadays, Part III or higher shows up. There have even been instances where the final part of a series is split into two movies. None of that “part splitting” is present in lotteries or lottery analysis, that’s for sure, but Pattern streaks are a popular go-to.

The days are getting hotter in Houston, and Lotto Texas and Powerball followed suit on June 2nd.  Both lotteries saw their most commonly seen Patterns and with no grand prize winners, their respective jackpots now stand at $6.25 million and $87 million.

The {3-2-1} Pattern Strikes Back and Return of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern

Today’s post will begin with a couple of shout-outs.

First, to the class of 2018. Whether you’re a college or high school graduate, you’ve survived at least twelve years of schooling, and now it’s time to make your mark in the world. Go forth!

This next shout-out is a special one to the teachers, parents, and students of the Houston area. When tragedy struck (and boy, did it strike), we came together and said to each other, “I got your back”. And, there were some bright spots, too. All this to say, y’all earned those three months. Take that time to chill, stay sharp, and like the old Discovery Channel motto, “Explore your world.”

“Star Wars” reference aside, the post title only tells you a little bit of what went on May 30, 2018. In the most recent Mega Millions post, I mentioned sequels and how summers tend to be filled with them, especially these days. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, they’re a big deal. For lotteries, anyway.

Right now, the jackpots for Lotto Texas and Powerball stand at a respective $6 million and $74 million. Lotto Texas got hit by “sequelitis”. Powerball got bit by something else.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

Fresh from the May 26th drawing, the {3-2-1} Pattern came back for an encore with winning numbers 8, 9, 14, 34, 42, and 44.

This Pattern has now played 810 times. Given that there have been 1555 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played in 52.1% of them.

The {3-2-1} Pattern wasn’t the only thing that made an encore! Now with 151 appearances, the 3 1 2 Specific Order has played in 18.6% of the 810 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. This Specific Order has also played in 9.71% of all 1555 drawings.

Four-Number Combination(s)

The repeating Four-Number Combination 9, 14, 34, and 42 was the cherry on top.

This Combination made its debut in a summer long past. It was the July 21, 2007 drawing. Ten years may seem like nothing to (older) humans, but it is a long time for lotteries.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-1-1-1} Pattern made its 57th appearance with winning numbers 17, 23, 26, 46, 68, and PB 20.

Out of 277 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played in 20.6% of them. This Pattern was last seen on May 19, 2018.

The [3-1-1-1] General Order was also last seen in the earlier-mentioned May 19th drawing. This General Order has now played in 28.1% of the 57 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. When looking at all 277 drawings, this General Order has played 5.78% of the time.

Now with five appearances, the 0 3 0 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 31.25% of the 16 drawings where the General Order was [3-1-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 8.77% of the 57 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 1.81% of all 277 drawings. Unlike what we saw with Lotto Texas, there was no playback. The 0 3 0 1 1 1 Specific Order previously played on April 11, 2018.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Repeating Three-Number Combinations were absent.

Will Lotto Texas and Powerball greet June with Pattern streaks/encores, or will other Patterns take the spotlight?
