1600 Ghosts

November 3rd belonged to Lotto Texas! This plucky little lottery reached a milestone of 1600 drawings with numbers 1-54. In addition to the grand prize rising to $5.25 million, there were other goodies that we can’t mention just yet. Powerball didn’t slouch either, with a prize now standing at $71 million.

What, exactly, allowed Lotto Texas to seize the night and what was special about Powerball?

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

In honor of 1600 drawings, the {3-2-1} Pattern went for the three-peat! The 840th appearance of this Pattern was thanks to winning numbers 8, 18, 20, 41, 42, and 46.

“Small” jackpot. Big surprises! Source: lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern has now played 52.5% of the time.

Now with 118 appearances, the 2 1 3 Specific Order has played in 14.1% of the 840 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 1600 drawings into consideration, this Specific Order has played 7.375% of the time. Prior to Saturday night, the 2 1 3 Specific Order played on March 21, 2018.

Similar Spread

You can’t go wrong celebrating a milestone with a similar spread! This happens when the differences between the numbers in two drawings are the same, but the orders of those numbers are different.

The spread for Saturday night was 10:02:21:01:04. This was similar to the spread that was seen on May 19, 2010. The spread that night was 10:04:21:02:01 and the winning numbers were 7, 17, 21, 42, 44, and 45.

Four-Number Combination(s)

Two repeating Four-Number Combinations also appeared in honor of the Big 1600!

  • 8, 20, 41, 42 (Debuted September 16, 2009)
  • 18, 20, 41, 42 (Debuted October 29, 2016)

Given that there have been 322 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played 20.5% of the time and was last seen October 24, 2018.

The [3-1-1-1] General Order has now appeared in 18 drawings. This General Order has now played in 27.3% of the 66 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 5.59% of all 322 drawings. We last saw the [3-1-1-1] General Order on September 26, 2018.

Saturday night saw the debut of the 0 3 1 0 1 1 Specific Order! This Specific Order has now played in 5.56% of the 18 drawings where the General Order was [3-1-1-1]. It has also played in 1.52% of the 66 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.31% of all 322 drawings.

Three-Number Combination(s)

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations this time.

Things are off to a busy start for November, although not nearly as crazy as last month! Will the momentum of the {3-2-1} Pattern streak continue to build in Lotto Texas? Could there be a {3-1-1-1} Pattern encore in Wednesday’s Powerball?

The Spell Has Been Broken

Lotto Texas held steady with a quaint, but desirable, $15.25 million.

Powerball, on the other hand, was explosive. For months, Powerball had been amassing great power, and it took a player in Iowa and another in New York to take it down October 27th. With the prize now claimed, Powerball got knocked back down to a more “normal” $40 million.

Four-Number Combination(s)

There was a repeating Four-Number Combination, just not in Lotto Texas.

That was not a typo.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-2-1} Pattern was the tool that brought Powerball down to size, with winning numbers 8, 12, 13, 19, 27, and PB 4.

The beginning of something bombastic. Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Unlike the {3-2-1} Pattern in Lotto Texas, this one is not very common. With 21 appearances, and 320 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has now played 6.57% of the time. This {3-2-1} Pattern previously played in the July 11, 2018 drawing.

The [3-2-1] General Order made its 11th appearance and has now played in 52.4% of the 21 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 320 drawings into consideration, this General Order has played 3.44% of the time. The [3-2-1] General Order played alongside the {3-2-1} Pattern in the earlier-mentioned July 11th drawing.

Now with two appearances, the 3 2 0 0 0 1 Specific Order has played in 18.1% of the eleven drawings where [3-2-1] was the General Order. This Specific Order has also played in 9.52% of the 21 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. Finally, when taking all 320 drawings into consideration, this Specific Order has played 0.625% of the time. The 3 2 0 0 0 1 Specific Order made its debut on April 18, 2018.

Four-Number Combination

If Powerball was going to go down, it was going to go out with a bang! The lone repeating Four (yes, four!)-Number Combination of the evening was 8, 13, 27, and PB 4.

This Combination made its debut in the November 25, 2017 drawing.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Naturally, nestled in that repeating Four-Number Combination were four repeating Three-Number Combinations:

  • 8, 13, 27

And naturally, these debuted November 25, 2017.

There was one other repeating Three-Number Combination, and that was 8, 19, and 27. This Combination debuted in the January 13, 2016 drawing.

All the lotteries have been brought back down to Earth right before Halloween. The only freaky things to worry about, if they could ever be called that, are encores, Australia Plays, and playbacks. Could either of these make an appearance, or will Halloween be a quiet evening?

The Strengthening Spell

One down. One to go.

Powerball’s spell tightened its hold on the land October 24th. The prize rose to $750 million! Lotto Texas received a boost as well, climbing to $14.5 million. Although it may be the “runt” of the lotteries, it more than held its own.

Given that there have been 1597 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played 10.8% of the time.

Now with 58 appearances, the 1 1 4 Specific Order has played in 33.7% of the 172 drawings where {4-1-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 1597 drawings into consideration, this Specific Order has played 3.63% of the time.

Both the {4-1-1} Pattern and the 1 1 4 Specific Order played together in the August 22, 2018 drawing. Seeing a playback in action more than makes up for a “tiny” prize!

Four-Number Combination(s)

Lotto Texas was also able to stand toe-to-toe with Powerball thanks to repeating Four-Number Combination 15, 37, 43, and 50.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Powerball’s method of attack was the {3-1-1-1} Pattern encore. Fresh from this past Saturday, it proved useful enough for the spell to be cast once more. This time, the winning numbers were 3, 21, 45, 53, 56, and PB 22.

This Pattern has now played 65 times and given that there have been 319 Powerball drawings, it has played in 20.4% of them.

The [1-1-3-1] General Order took a cue from the {3-1-1-1} Pattern and made an encore appearance as well! With 31 appearances, this General Order has played in 47.7% of the 65 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 319 drawings into consideration, this General Order played 9.72% of the time.

This Specific Order has also played in 4.62% of the 65 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Finally, when taking all 319 drawings into consideration, this Specific Order has played 0.94% of the time. Prior to Wednesday night, the 1 1 0 3 0 1 Specific Order played on May 20, 2017.

Three-Number Combination(s)

A helping of repeating Three-Number Combination never hurt, right? The Combination was 45, 53, 56, and it debuted in the March 24, 2018 drawing.

The weekend is close at hand, and Halloween is not that far behind. Will Powerball amass more power Saturday night, or will the spell be broken?

Going Big(ger) (or Lotto Texas & Powerball in “Jackpot Happy”)

October is an active month, indeed. Football season is in full swing, post-season baseball games are taking place (Will the ‘stros make it to the World Series again?), not to mention Halloween being right around the corner. If you also read the Mega Millions blog posts, then you know about the monster lurking about there. Now, I don’t mean to alarm you, but another monster was spotted October 13, 2018. The grand prize for Powerball shot up to $345 million! Lotto Texas may be the “runt” with its $11.75 million jackpot, but it had the most impactful attacks of the evening.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-2-1} Pattern was loved so much after showing up October 10th that it was invited back. This encore, and the 835th appearance of the Pattern, was thanks to winning numbers 14, 19, 30, 42, 47, and 51.

A Pattern encore is just one attack. Source: lotterytrend.com.

Of the 1594 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played 52.4% of the time.

Now with 149 appearances, the 1 2 3 Specific Order has played in 17.8% of the 835 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern and in 9.35% of all 1594 drawings. Prior to Saturday night, this Specific Order played on September 15, 2018.

Similar Spread

Lotto Texas went straight for the jugular with a similar spread. The spread for Saturday night was 05:11:12:05:04, which was similar to what was seen on October 4, 2006. That night, the winning numbers were 1, 13, 18, 22, 27, and 38, with a spread of 12:05:04:05:11. Notice that although the differences between numbers were the same, the orders were different.

Four-Number Combination(s)

Of course, what accents the impact of a Pattern encore more than a repeating Four-Number Combination? The Combination of the evening was 14, 30, 47, and 51, which made its debut in the February 20, 2013 drawing.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Powerball took a note from the Lotto Texas playbook and played its most commonly seen Pattern again. Except here, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made a three-peat. With winning numbers 11, 14, 32, 43, 65, and PB 15, this Pattern made its 113th appearance.

The [2-1-1-1-1] General Order made its 30th appearance and has now played in 26.5% of the 113 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has also played in 9.49% of all 316 drawings and was last seen on August 4, 2018.

Now with five appearances, the 2 0 1 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 16.667% of the 30 drawings where the General Order was [2-1-1-1-1]. This Specific Order has also appeared in 4.42% of the 113 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 316 drawings into consideration, the 2 0 1 1 1 1 Specific Order has played 1.58% of the time. This Specific Order was last seen in the earlier-mentioned August 4, 2018 drawing alongside the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order.

Three-Number Combination(s)

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations. Powerball felt that the Pattern encore, and the crazy-large jackpot, were enough damage.

As the daytime hours wane, and the days (hopefully) continue to get cooler, the grand prizes continue to reach monumental heights. Will either the {2-1-1-1-1} or {3-2-1} Patterns make another repeat appearance Wednesday night and could one of those repeats allow at least one person to obtain a monstrous jackpot?

Lottery Wednesday Warmup

As things (finally) cooled down for us in Houston, things started heating up in the lottery world October 10th. Once again, the grand prizes for Lotto Texas and Powerball had yet to be won. Wednesday night, they rose to $11.25 million and $314 million, respectively. In a complete 180 of what we saw last time, rising jackpots were not the highlight of the evening.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Powerball was where most of the action was. In addition to a crazy-high grand prize, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore! The 112th appearance of the Pattern was marked by winning numbers 8, 23, 27, 42, 60, and PB 7.

Given that there have been 315 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played 35.6% of the time and previously played on October 6, 2018.

Along for the encore ride was the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order, which made its 29th appearance. This General Order has now played in 25.9% of the 112 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 9.21% of all 315 drawings. Could it be that a playback was on the horizon?

Now with five appearances, the 1 2 1 0 1 1 Specific Order has played in 17.2% of the 29 drawings where the General Order was [1-2-1-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 4.46% of the 112 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 1.59% of all 315 drawings. A playback wasn’t meant to be. This Combination made its debut on October 5, 2016. Now, this isn’t an ordinary repeat. One, this Combination debuted two years ago (give or take a few days), and, the 1 2 1 0 1 1 Specific Order played that night too! That night, the winning numbers were 8, 18, 27, 29, 60, and PB 15.

Are more Pattern encores on the horizon? Will the grand prizes rise once more after Saturday’s drawing?

The Date That Binds

October is strange. The early part of the month is about autumn finding its legs in the Northern Hemisphere. So far, it has either been a continuation of summer or, if we ask our friends up in western Canada, a complete jump-over into winter. October 3rd was a sticky night not only in Houston, but in Lotto Texas and Powerball, too. Another lottery night meant another night where the grand prizes rose. Right now, they stand at $9.75 million and $253 million, respectively. The Patterns, although wildly different on the surface, had something in common, and not just raising the jackpot.

The last time we saw the 0 0 1 1 3 1 Specific Order was two years ago! More specifically, in the August 13, 2016 drawing.

The daytime hours are shrinking, and at least one jackpot is heading for the stratosphere. Will it be a Pattern encore that helps someone become rich beyond his or her wildest dreams Saturday night, or will the jackpots grow once more?

The End-of-Month Hop-Along

September is over. The beach towels have been replaced with textbooks, the flip flops for shoes, and the holiday decorations are starting to come out in full force. In the lottery world, Lotto Texas and Powerball had their last drawings for the month September 29th. Their grand prizes rose once again, and now stand at $9 million and $229 million, respectively. Saturday night was also a good one for lovers of Australia Plays and (repeating) Combinations.

October is right around the corner and there has yet to be a grand prize winner for either Lotto Texas or Powerball. Likewise, neither lottery is starting the month with a Pattern streak. Will either lottery see an encore, or even see a grand prize winner, in Wednesday’s drawing?

Never Gone for Long: Lotto Edition

Before we get to today’s lottery analysis, I want to thank guest blogger Romulun Harris for filling in while I was away.

September is almost over, and what a month it has been! Lotto Texas garnered the most attention with a monstrous {3-2-1} Pattern streak. After an astounding eight consecutive appearances, the Pattern was knocked off its pedestal with an Australia Play.

As we look at what happened on September 26, 2018, there were at least a couple of things Lotto Texas and Powerball had in common:

  1. Neither saw a Pattern encore
  2. Both saw their grand prizes grow to $8.25 million and $213 million, respectively

The third “common” thing is a bit subtler and requires further reading.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-2-1} Pattern didn’t stay off its pedestal for long, coming back strong with winning numbers 6, 13, 18, 30, 48, and 49. This Pattern has now played 832 times.

Of the 1589 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played in 52.4% of them, and was last seen on September 19, 2018.

Now with 156 appearances, the 3 1 2 Specific Order has played in 18.75% of the 832 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. This Specific Order has also played in 9.82% of all 1589 drawings. Prior to Wednesday night, the 3 1 2 Specific Order played on August 4, 2018.

Four-Number Combination(s)

In addition to the return of the {3-2-1} Pattern, there were two repeating Four-Number Combinations, both of which appeared ten years ago!

  • 6, 13, 18, 49 (Debuted December 6, 2008)

With winning numbers 1, 2, 7, 30, 50, and PB 8, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has now played 62 times.

Given the 311 Powerball drawings so far, this Pattern has played 19.9% of

the time. Like the {3-2-1} Pattern in Lotto Texas, this Pattern played on September 19, 2018.

The [3-1-1-1] General Order made its 17th appearance and has played in 27.4% of the 62 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has also played in 5.47% of all 311 drawings. We last saw the [3-1-1-1] General Order on May 30, 2018.

Another stand-out moment for Powerball was the debut of the 3 0 1 1 0 1 Specific Order! This has now played in 5.88% of the 17 drawings where [3-1-1-1] was the General Order. This Specific Order has also played in 1.61% of the 62 drawings where the winning Pattern was {3-1-1-1} and in 0.32% of all 311 drawings.

Three-Number Combination(s)

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations Wednesday night.

September 29th will be the last drawing of the month for Lotto Texas and Powerball. Will the grand prizes continue to increase, or will they be won?

Autumn Brings More Surprises!

Hello again, Lottery Trend Fans! This is guest blogger, Romulun Harris, giving you the latest lottery updates. As we witness the second day of Autumn, two combinations make their first appearance in almost ten years and Lotto Texas experiences an Australian play and more! And now the details.

Lotto Texas

Last night on September 22, 2018, the winning numbers for Lotto Texas were 4, 7, 27, 35, 50, and 53.

Surprise appearance by the {2-2-2} Pattern. Source: lotterytrend.com.

Like I said before, it’s not often that we see a Four-Number Combination repeat a short while after its debut.

Powerball

On the same night as Lotto Texas, Powerball’s winning numbers were 24, 61, 63, 64, 69 and PB 18.

The Pattern Encores Cometh

There’s no denying that September is an exciting month. Regardless of how you (or your kids) feel about going back to class, or the start of football season, you can’t deny there’s a buzz in the air.

September 19th was an intense night for Lotto Texas and Powerball. Not only did their respective grand prizes increase to $7.75 million and $178 million, they both saw Pattern encores!

Although, “Pattern encore” is an understatement for Lotto Texas.

Summer is almost over, and it looks like Lotto Texas and Powerball have a big send-off in the works. Will the {3-2-1} Pattern streak continue, and can Powerball get a Pattern streak established Saturday night?

Speaking of transitions, Romulun Harris, our Mega Millions analyst, will be your guide for Saturday night’s drawing. I’ll be away on business.
