A Chilly Trend?

Mega Millions kicked off this past weekend in a sleepy state. What with how cold it was over a sizable part of Lottery Trend Country, it fit the mood. Temperatures started to warm up, but the April 10th drawing was similar to what we saw last time. Although this is only the third drawing we’ve covered for April, what we’ve seen this month is a far cry from the madness of March.

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 5, 13, 31, 43, 53, and MB 20, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 98th appearance.

Pattern: {2-2-1-1}. Current mood: Hibernating. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Given that there have been 348 Mega Millions drawings, this Pattern has played in 28.2% of them, and was last seen in the March 6th, 2018 drawing.

The [2-1-2-1] General Order made its 31st appearance and has played in 31.6% of the 98 drawings where the winning Pattern was {2-2-1-1}. This General Order has also played in 8.91% of all 348 drawings and was seen alongside the {2-2-1-1} Pattern in the earlier-mentioned March 6th drawing. A flicker of warmth indeed!

If only a playback had occurred! The 2 0 1 2 0 1 Specific Order was last seen in the July 28th, 2017 drawing. Now with that said, this Specific Order has played in 12.9% of the 31 drawings where the General Order was [2-1-2-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 4.08% of the 98 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Finally, when looking at all 348 drawings, the 2 0 1 2 0 1 Specific Order played 1.15% of the time.

Three Number Combination(s)

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations this time.

Will Mega Millions hit the snooze button Friday night, or will it jump out of bed, ready to take names?

Hibernation Mode?

With winter’s brief return this past week, Mega Millions decided to go into “hibernation mode”, so to speak. The April 6, 2018 drawing didn’t see a {3-1-1-1} Pattern encore, nor an Australia Play. In fact, this past Friday was one of the quietest nights we’ve seen in a while.

General Lottery Analysis

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 152nd appearance with winning numbers 16, 33, 51, 54, 67 and MB 20.

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern: King of Mega Millions Patterns. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Given that there have been 347 Mega Millions drawings so far, this Pattern has played in 43. 8% of them. Prior to Friday night, this Pattern played on March 27, 2018.

Making its 40th appearance was the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order, which has now played in 26.3% of the 152 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has also played in 11.5% of all 347 Patterns. It played alongside the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in the earlier-mentioned March 27th drawing.

Could it be that Mega Millions saw a playback?

Now with nine appearances, the 0 1 1 2 1 1 Specific Order has played in 22.5% of the 40 drawings where the General Order of the evening was [1-1-2-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 5.92% of the 152 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Finally, when looking at all 347 drawings, the 0 1 1 2 1 1 Specific Order has played 2.59% of the time.

And now for the answer you’ve all been waiting for…

You ready for this?

The flicker of a playback was extinguished. The 0 1 1 2 1 1 Specific Order was last seen in the August 11, 2017 drawing. This was reconfigured from the 0 1 1 3 0 1 Specific Order seen that night.

Three Number Combination(s)

To fit the mood of the evening, there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Will things warm up for Mega Millions next week?

Winter Comeback

Apparently, in some parts of Lottery Trend Country, and our northern neighbor, winter has yet to die. For those of us snapping pictures of loved ones in fields of bluebonnets, snow on the ground in April seems so…alien. Since we here at Lottery Binge have no bluebonnet photos of our own to share, we’re going to talk about another flower. A flower that doesn’t need water or soil. Just a hearty dose of analysis.

For starters, the April 3, 2018 Mega Millions drawing didn’t see an Australia Play encore. That certainly would’ve warmed things up! Instead, to celebrate the theme of winter’s, pardon the lame pun, icy hold, Tuesday night’s Pattern was a visit to winters past.

Given that there have been 346 Mega Millions drawings to date, this Pattern has played 19.7% of the time. Prior to Tuesday night, this Pattern played in the March 13, 2018 drawing.

With 28 appearances, the [1-3-1-1] General Order has played in 41.2% of the 68 drawings where the winning Pattern was {3-1-1-1}. This General Order has also now played in 8.09% of all 346 drawings. We last saw the [1-3-1-1] General Order in the December 19, 2017 drawing.

Now with three appearances, the 1 0 3 0 1 1 Specific Order has played in 10.7% of the 28 drawings where the General Order of the evening was [1-3-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 4.41% of the 68 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Finally, when taking all 346 drawings into account, this Specific Order has played 0.87% of the time. The 1 0 3 0 1 1 Specific Order previously played in the February 24, 2017 drawing. This was reconfigured from the 1 1 2 0 1 1 Specific Order seen that night.

Will Friday’s drawing see a {3-1-1-1} Pattern encore?

The Kick is In

After the March 30, 2018 Mega Millions drawing, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern streak is no more. Never fret, streak lovers! Pattern streaks are bound to show up again this year. What caused the upset? Why, none other than the Australia Play of course! Not only did it kick the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern out of its streak, it made one player in New Jersey $521 million richer.

The eighth-ever Mega Millions Australia Play was thanks to winning numbers 11, 28, 31, 48, 59, and MB 1.

Given that there have been 345 Mega Millions drawings, that means the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order, and the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order have all played 2.32% of the time. We last saw an Australia Play in the September 19, 2017 drawing.

Three Number Combination(s)

Although an Australia Play came bounding across the numbers terrain, there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Instead of going out like a lamb, Mega Millions was more like a roaring sheep. We end March’s Mega Millions coverage with a demolished Pattern streak, and an Australia Play that went solo. Makes for a short post, we’ll admit.

Will April start with an Australia Play encore?

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern Waltz

Over the past three drawings, Mega Millions found itself intertwined with the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. The results of the March 27, 2018 drawing made us bold enough to say it’s madly in love with the Pattern. So much so that the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its fourth consecutive appearance! What with this being the lottery and all, there’s no way that Tuesday night was as smooth as an actual waltz.

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 7, 25, 43, 56, 59, and MB 13, this Pattern has now played 151 times.

Will the Spring Streak continue into Good Friday, or will another Pattern step in?

Streak on Down the Road

We’ve all heard of spring fever, yes? Well, Pattern streak fever struck Mega Millions in the March 23rd drawing. This phenomenon occurs when a Pattern has played at least three times in a row, and it can strike at any time of the year. All we can do is provide analysis. The only cure, if it can be called such, is to let the fever run its course.

General Lottery Analysis

Mega Millions just can’t get enough of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. For the third time in a row, this Pattern has graced the world with its presence. This time, the winning numbers were 4, 8, 23, 53, 59, and MB 17, bringing the number of appearances to 150.

Three Number Combination(s)

We didn’t see an explosion of repeating Three-Number Combinations like we did last time. However, one did pop up:

March 20th was the vernal equinox for those of us dwelling in the Northern Hemisphere. Spring means more daytime hours, warming temperatures, blossoms, and summer vacation drawing ever closer. To celebrate the arrival of spring, Mega Millions went big.

General Lottery Analysis

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern is the King for a reason! Right after appearing in last Friday’s drawing, this Pattern made an encore. Its 149th appearance was thanks to winning numbers 14, 38, 51, 64, 70, and MB 9.

Before we begin today’s post, we here at Lottery Binge would like to take a moment to say farewell to Stephen Hawking. Regardless of your spiritual beliefs, or lack thereof, his contributions to the world of theoretical physics have greatly improved our understanding of our universe. Interestingly, his passing was on the birth date of another intellectual giant

Spring Break is almost over, and what with St. Patrick’s Day being this weekend, you’d think Mega Millions would start things off with a bang. Turns out that that wasn’t in the cards. There was no grandstanding in the March 16th drawing. With St. Patrick’s Day falling on a Saturday this year, perhaps it’ll be “sisters” Lotto Texas and Powerball who run with the blowout baton.

With spring officially starting next week, will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern make an encore in Tuesday’s drawing?

Time for a Break

Spring Break is in full swing in the Houston area! The weather has been nice, with mild temperatures and sunny days. It’s news like this that remind us down in these parts that it’s (technically) still winter. March 13th saw the start of March Madness and Mega Millions did a complete 180 from what we saw last time.

General Lottery Analysis

Will the {3-1-1-1} Pattern make an encore in Friday’s drawing?

The Madness of King {2-1-1-1-1}

This weekend is going to be a big one! Spring Break is (technically) here for students in the Houston area. As to why Spring Break is in the middle of March instead of around Easter? It’s like trying to find the number of licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll pop.

In the world of college sports, the selection process for the NCAA men’s basketball teams is Sunday, with the women’s selection on Monday. Of course, to get to the weekend, we must get through Friday night first.

A three-peat for the {2-2-1-1} Pattern wasn’t in the cards on March 9th drawing. The King of Mega Millions Patterns kicked off the weekend instead.

General Lottery Analysis
