A Storm of {3-2-1}

As we here at Lottery Binge headquarters brace for a deluge and high winds, Lotto Texas and Powerball were brewing up a storm of their own the night of August 23rd. For starters, both lotteries saw the {3-2-1} Pattern. This was an encore appearance in Lotto Texas, and for one Powerball player, a night to remember.

Lotto Texas

With 768 appearances, the {3-2-1} Pattern is king in Lotto Texas. Wednesday night’s winning numbers were 6, 9, 34, 38, 39, and 46.

This Pattern has now played in 52.1% of 1475 drawings.

Making its 112th appearance, the 2 1 3 Specific Order has played in 14.6% of the 768 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.59% of all 1465 drawings. Prior to Wednesday night, this Specific Order was last seen in the April 15th, 2017 drawing.

Accompanying the {3-2-1} Pattern was repeating Four-Number Combination 6, 38, 39, 46.

This debuted in the July 28th, 2010 drawing.

Powerball

Powerball’s winning numbers were 6, 7, 16, 23, 26, and PB 4.

Unlike the {3-2-1} Pattern in Lotto Texas, this {3-2-1} is one of the least commonly played Powerball Patterns. As of Wednesday night, this {3-2-1} Pattern has played nine times. Statistically speaking, this Pattern has played in 4.57% of the 197 Powerball drawings. We last saw the {3-2-1} Pattern in the July 19th, 2017 drawing.

Now with seven appearances, the [2-3-1] General Order has played in approximately 77.8% of the nine drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.55% of all 197 drawings. This General Order was seen with the {3-2-1} Pattern in the July 19th drawing mentioned earlier.

Making its debut is the 2 3 0 0 0 1 Specific Order, now having played in roughly 14.3% of the seven drawings where the [2-3-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also now played in 11.1% of the nine drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has played, and 0.51% of all 197 drawings.

In addition to a new Specific Order, Powerball saw a repeating Three-Number Combination! The Combination 16, 23, PB 4 made its debut in the December 28th, 2016 drawing.

Will either {3-2-1} Pattern make a repeat appearance Saturday night, or will they get swept away?

Two Scoops of Rare Treats

If you like rare Patterns, then you were in for a treat Wednesday night! Both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw some of their least-commonly seen Patterns in the July 19, 2017 drawing. In addition to these rare Patterns playing, both lotteries saw Specific Orders that hadn’t played in two years, or thereabouts.

Lotto Texas

The winning numbers were 1, 3, 11, 15, 16, and 50, bringing the number of appearances of the {5-1} Pattern to 52.

Source: lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern has played in 3.55% of the 1465 Lotto Texas drawings, and was last seen in the March 25, 2017 drawing.

Making its third appearance, the 5 0 1 Specific Order has played in 5.77% of the 52 drawings where the {5-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.20% of all 1465 drawings. This Specific Order previously played a little over a couple of years ago in the June 13, 2015 drawing.

Lotto Texas felt the {5-1} Pattern was enough, for there were no repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Powerball

The {3-2-1} made its eighth appearance, with winning numbers 50, 51, 59, 61, 63, and PB 4.

Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

This Pattern has played in 4.28% of the 187 Powerball drawings, and previously played in the April 12, 2017 drawing.

With six appearances, the [2-3-1] General Order has played in 75% of the eight drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.21% of all 187 drawings. This General Order played alongside the {3-2-1} Pattern in the April 12, 2017 drawing.

Now with two appearances, the 0 0 0 2 3 1 Specific Order has played in approximately 33.3% of the six drawings where the [2-3-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 25% of the eight drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.07% of all 187 Powerball drawings. The 0 0 0 2 3 1 Specific Order made its debut in the October 17, 2015 drawing.

There was one lone repeating Three-Number Combination, and it was 59, 63, and PB 4.

This Combination made its debut in the July 2, 2016 drawing.

Looking ahead to Saturday, will any of these rare Patterns make an encore appearance?

Combination Cannon (and Corn)

Compared to this past Wednesday, Saturday night was an explosion of numbers. Lotto Texas started the month of July with the third consecutive appearance of the {3-2-1} Pattern and a repeating Four-Number Combination that hadn’t been seen in over fifteen years. The (usually) comparatively mellow Powerball saw the debut of a Specific Order and three repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Now, about the corn. What does that have to do with today’s post? That shall be answered in a moment, but first, let’s get the July 1st analysis out of the way.

Lotto Texas

The 759th appearance of the {3-2-1} Pattern was brought about by winning numbers 8, 29, 30, 36, 47, and 52.

Source: lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern has played in 52% of the 1460 Lotto Texas drawings.

The 1 3 2 Specific Order made its 115th appearance, and has played in 15.2% of the 759 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.88% of all 1460 drawings. Prior to Saturday, this Specific Order was last seen in the June 7, 2017 drawing.

The Four-Number Combination of the evening was 29, 30, 36, and 47; it made its debut in the February 20, 2002 drawing.

Fun fact: February 20, 2002 was a Palindrome Day.

Powerball

Powerball’s {3-1-1-1} Pattern made its 36th appearance with winning numbers 19, 42, 45, 48, 53, and PB 16.

This Pattern has played in 19.8% of the 182 Powerball drawings, and was last seen in the June 21, 2017 drawing.

Making its sixteenth appearance, the [1-1-3-1] General Order has played in 44.4% of the 36 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 8.79% of all 182 drawings. Like the {3-1-1-1} Pattern, this General Order previously played in the June 21st drawing.

The 0 1 1 3 0 1 Specific Order made its world debut, and has now played in 6.25% of the sixteen drawings where the [1-1-3-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 2.78% of the 36 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.55% of all 182 drawings.

Powerball’s trio of repeating Three-Number Combinations were the following:

  • 19, 42, 48 (Debuted October 29, 2016)
  • 48, 53, PB 16 (Debuted March 15, 2017)
  • 45, 48, PB 16 (Debuted March 25, 2017)

In contrast to the Lotto Texas repeating Four-Number Combination, these Combinations made their debuts very recently.

Now, the answer to today’s riddle: What does corn have to do with Lottery Binge? Well, the Fourth of July is only a few days away, and regardless of political leanings, people from coast to coast relish in fireworks, a day off from work, and barbecue. No Fourth of July cookout is complete without corn! Yes, corn! Corn on the cob roasted, or simply straight off the stalk, there’s nothing like the taste of organically grown sweet corn.

Sweet, sweet corn

The corn you see here was harvested yesterday afternoon out of my dad’s garden. No pesticides here! He let Mother Nature do the work, and she was mighty kind this year.

Getting back to the lottery side of things, will Lotto Texas continue its {3-2-1} Pattern streak? Will another Specific Order make its debut in Powerball?

Doubling Up

Time sure flies by! It’s hard to believe, but we’re almost halfway done with 2017. June 28th was the last night of the month for both Lotto Texas and Powerball. How did they wrap it up? Well, Lotto Texas saw the Pattern and the Specific Order make an encore appearance. On the Powerball side of things, the Pattern and General Order previously played together earlier in the month, and there was a repeating Three-Number Combination.

Lotto Texas

With 758 appearances, the {3-2-1} is still tops among Lotto Texas Patterns. Wednesday’s winning numbers were 17, 24, 27, 41, 45, and 48.

This Pattern has played in 52% of the 1459 drawings.

The 1 2 3 Specific Order made its 140th appearance, and has now played in 18.5% of the 758 drawings that the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.60% of all Lotto Texas drawings. Like the {3-2-1} Pattern, this Specific Order was last seen in the June 24, 2017 drawing.

Unlike the last two times the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, there were no repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Powerball

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 55th appearance, with winning numbers 29, 37, 46, 53, 68, and PB 8.

This Pattern has played in 30.4% of all 181 Powerball drawings, and was last seen in the June 10, 2017 drawing just a few weeks ago.

Making its 21st appearance, the [2-2-1-1] General Order has played in 38.2% of the 55 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 11.6% of all drawings. This General Order played alongside the {2-2-1-1} Pattern in the June 10th drawing.

Now with three appearances, the 0 0 2 2 1 1 Specific Order has played in approximately 14.3% of the 21 drawings where the [2-2-1-1] General Order has appeared, and 5.45% of the 55 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has played in 1.66% of all 181 drawings, and was last seen in the May 10, 2017 drawing.

The May 10th drawing wasn’t just the last time the 0 0 2 2 1 1 Specific Order appeared; it was also the debut of the repeating Three-Number Combination of the evening: 29, 46, PB 8.

Will Saturday’s drawings for Lotto Texas and Powerball be a pre-Fourth fireworks show?

Pattern Volleyball Session

Alongside the barbecues and the pool parties, another one of summer’s beloved pastimes is beach volleyball. Lotto Texas and Powerball tried their hands at it in the June 24, 2017 drawing, and the results could be summed up as “Last Saturday with a touch of May.” Both lotteries saw their most commonly played Patterns, unlike what happened on Wednesday night. Like the Saturday before, this iteration of Lotto Texas’s most commonly played Pattern produced two repeating Four-Number Combinations. In contrast, the most recent iteration of Powerball’s Pattern didn’t produce repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Lotto Texas

For the 757th time, the {3-2-1} Pattern made an appearance. Saturday night’s winning numbers were 1, 24, 27, 41, 49, and 53.

This Pattern has played in 51.9% of the 1458 Lotto Texas drawings and was last seen on June 17, 2020.

Now with 139 appearances, the 1 2 3 Specific Order has played in 18.4% of the 757 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 9.53% of all 1458 drawings. Prior to Saturday night, the 1 2 3 Specific Order played in the May 31, 2017 drawing.

Compared to some of the dates we’ve seen for repeating Four-Number Combinations, the dates above are recent.

Powerball

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has now played 66 times. The winning numbers this time around were 10, 22, 32, 36, 58, and PB 10.

This Pattern has played in 36.7% of the 180 Powerball drawings, and this was also last seen in the June 17th drawing.

Making its 15th appearance, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has now played in 22.7% of the 66 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} drawing has appeared, and in 8.33% of all drawings. This General Order previously played in the May 6, 2017 drawing.

With six appearances, the 1 1 2 0 1 1 Specific Order has played in 40% of the 15 drawings where the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has appeared, and in 9.09% of the 66 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. When looking at all 180 drawings, this statistic becomes roughly 3.33%. Like the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order, this Specific Order was seen in the May 6th drawing.

With July right around the corner, will things start to heat up in Lotto Texas and Powerball?

Common Things

“Common” was the surface theme of the evening for June 17th. Both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw their most commonly played Patterns. Powerball’s Pattern play was also an encore this time around. Of course, there’s more to the story. Lotto Texas had two repeating Four-Number Combinations, and Powerball had one repeating Three-Number Combination.

Lotto Texas

Now with 756 appearances, the {3-2-1} Pattern showed no signs of being upstaged by another Pattern. The winning numbers Saturday night were 3, 4, 6, 23, 34, and 54.

This Pattern has played in 51.9% of the 1456 Lotto Texas drawings, and was last seen in the June 10th drawing one week prior.

Making its 131st appearance, the 3 2 1 Pattern has played in 17.3% of the 756 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern appeared, and in 8.997% of all 1456 drawings. This Specific Order previously played in the March 22nd, 2017 drawing.

The Four-Number Combinations of the evening were

Once again, the range of Four-Number Combination dates ranged from the era of smartphones all the way back to the era of Blockbuster and Napster.

Powerball

Right off the heels of this past Wednesday’s drawing, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made another appearance. This time around, the winning numbers were 10, 13, 32, 53, 62, and PB 21, bringing the total number of appearances to 65.

This Pattern has played in 36.5% of the 178 Powerball drawings.

The [2-1-1-1-1] General Order made its fourteenth appearance, and has now played in 21.5% of the 65 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 7.87% of all 178 drawings. Unlike the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order did not make an encore. In fact, this General Order was last seen in the June 3rd drawing exactly two weeks prior.

Making its third appearance, the 2 0 1 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 21.4% of the 14 drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, and in 4.62% of the 65 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has played in 1.69% of all 178 drawings, and was last seen over a year ago. More specifically, the 2 0 1 1 1 1 Specific Order was last seen in the February 10th, 2016 drawing.

The Three-Number Combination of the evening was 10, 13, and PB 21, and it made its debut in the March 16th, 2016 drawing.

The next Lotto Texas and Powerball drawings will take place on the summer solstice (or winter solstice for any readers in the Southern Hemisphere). How will Lotto Texas and Powerball mark the occasion? Will a Pattern streak be established with the most commonly seen Patterns, or will things mellow out?

The Common Denominator

Lotto Texas and Powerball dived into the June pool and they found common ground in Saturday night’s drawing. Both lotteries saw their most commonly played Patterns, and furthermore, these were encores! Powerball took it to another level and went into three-peat territory. Combination-wise, Lotto Texas saw repeating Four-Number Combinations. Powerball, on the other hand, didn’t see any repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Lotto Texas

With its 753rd appearance, the {3-2-1} Pattern remained the most commonly played. The June 3, 2017 drawing marked the occasion with winning numbers 1, 9, 17, 23, 53, and 54.

This Pattern has now played in 51.9% of the 1452 Lotto Texas drawings.

Making its 137th appearance, the 3 1 2 Specific Order has now played in 18.2% of the 753 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.44% of all Lotto Texas drawings. Prior to Saturday’s drawing, this Specific Order was last seen in the May 20, 2017  drawing just a few weeks ago.

The repeating Four-Number Combinations of the evening were

  • 9, 17, 53, 54 (Debuted November 8, 2006)

One of the amazing things about repeating Four-Number Combinations is the range of their debut dates. As you can see from the dates above, these Combinations debuted anywhere from the early days of YouTube to a period where smartphones were everywhere.

Powerball

As mentioned earlier, Powerball also saw its most commonly seen Pattern make an encore appearance. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was represented by winning numbers 3, 9, 21, 41, 54, and PB 25.

Winning Powerball numbers. From lotterytrend-powerball.com.

This Pattern has now played in 36.2% of the 174 Powerball drawings. Prior to Saturday, and May 31st, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was seen May 27, 2017.

With thirteen appearances, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has played in 20.6% of the 63 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.47% of all Powerball drawings. This General Order was last seen in the May 27th drawing.

The 2 1 1 1 0 1 Specific Order made its third appearance, and has now played in 23.1% of the 13 drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has appeared. This statistic becomes 4.76% when looking at the 63 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.72% of all drawings. This Specific Order hasn’t been seen in a while; the last time it appeared was in the December 17, 2016 drawing.

Will the Patterns continue to be joined at the hip in the week ahead, or will other Patterns appear? Will a Specific Order make its debut?

Leaving May in 3-2-1

The month of May ended with Lotto Texas and Powerball, and what an ending it was! Both lotteries saw their most commonly played Patterns, and Lotto Texas got in a couple of repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Lotto Texas

With 752 appearances, the {3-2-1} Pattern is second-to-none in Lotto Texas. The winning numbers for May 31st were 11, 26, 33, 40, 47, and 53.

Winning Texas Lottery numbers. From lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern has now played in 51.8% of the 1451 Lotto Texas drawings, and was last seen in the May 20th drawing.

The Specific Order of the evening was 1 2 3, making its 138th appearance. This has appeared in 18.4% of the 752 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.51% of all drawings. Prior to Wednesday, the 1 2 3 Specific Order previously played in the April 26th, 2017 drawing.

The repeating Four-Number Combinations of the evening were

  • 26, 40, 47, and 53 (Debuted May 18th, 2016) and

Powerball

With 62 appearances, this Pattern remains the most commonly seen in Powerball, and has played in 35.8% of the 173 drawings.

Making its 17th appearance, the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has played in 27.4% of the 62 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.83% of all Powerball drawings. Prior to Wednesday, this General Order was last seen in the April 22nd, 2017 drawing.

Powerball didn’t see any repeating Three-Number Combinations, so the grand finale of the evening was the fifth appearance of the 1 0 2 1 1 1 Specific Order. This Specific Order has played in 29.4% of the 17 drawings where the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, 8.06% of the 62 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 2.89% of all 173 drawings. The 1 0 2 1 1 1 Specific Order previously played in the April 1st drawing.

Will these Patterns make an encore in Saturday night’s drawing?

Ain’t No Party Like a Combo Party

Saturday nights for Lotto Texas and Powerball are usually busy, and May 20th was one of those nights. Repeating Three and Four-Number Combinations was the theme, and both lotteries got to take part. The debut dates ranged from just last month to the beginning of the millennium*!

*Or end of the millennium, depending on who you ask.

Lotto Texas

The {3-2-1} Pattern made its 751st appearance with winning numbers 8, 9, 15, 20, 38, and 39.

Winning Texas Lottery numbers. From lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern remains the most commonly seen in Lotto Texas, now appearing in 51.9% of the 1448 Lotto Texas drawings. Prior to Saturday’s drawing, the {3-2-1} Pattern was last seen a few weeks ago in the April 26, 2017 drawing.

Making its 136th appearance, the 3 1 2 Specific Order has now played in 18.1% of the 751 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.39% of all Lotto Texas drawings. This Specific Order previously played in the March 18, 2017 drawing.

The grandest part of Saturday night’s drawing was the repeat appearances of four Four-Number Combinations!

  • 15, 20, 38, 39 (Debuted April 19, 2008)
  • 8, 15, 38, 39 (Debuted July 29, 2009)

Lotto Texas saw plenty of repeating Combination action. Did Powerball see just as much?

Powerball

With winning numbers 5, 22, 45, 47, 54, and PB 3, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern made its 32nd appearance.

Winning Powerball numbers. From lotterytrend-powerball.com.

This Pattern has now played in 18.8% of the 170 Powerball drawings, and was last seen in the April 29, 2017 drawing.

Now with 13 appearances, the [1-1-3-1] General Order has played in roughly 40.63% of the 32 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.65% of all Powerball drawings. This General Order previously played in the April 5, 2017 drawing.

The 1 1 0 3 0 1 Specific Order made its second appearance. With that said, this Specific Order has played in 15.4% of the 13 drawings where the [1-1-3-1] General Order has appeared, 6.25% of the 32 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.18% of all drawings. Interestingly, this Specific Order made its debut in the same April 5th drawing that the [1-1-3-1] General Order was last seen.

The repeating Three-Number Combination was 5,22,45, fresh off the heels of its debut just last month in the April 15, 2017 drawing.

Lone repeating Three-Number Combination. From lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Powerball may not have seen as much in the way of repeating Combinations, but it’s not often that the General Order and the Specific Order share the same “last seen” date.

With the drumbeats of summer vacation growing ever louder in Lottery Trend Country, what will the week ahead have in store? Will there be more repeating Three and Four-Number Combinations or will there be a mellowing out. Memorial Day is around the corner, after all.

Stirring the Pot

From having a (deceptive) Australia Play to repeating Three-Number Combinations, Mega Millions took a different route in the May 19th drawing. An uncommonly seen Pattern surfaced, and this Pattern had previously played with the General Order of the evening. There was also a Specific Order that played for the first time in almost two years.

The {3-2-1} Pattern played for the 24th time on Friday night, with winning numbers 1, 4, 5, 24, 30, and MB 1.

Winning Mega Millions numbers. From lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

This Pattern previously played in the April 21st drawing almost exactly one month prior, and has played in 6.42% of the 374 Mega Millions drawings.

Like the {3-2-1} Pattern, the [3-2-1] General Order previously played in the April 21st drawing. This General Order has now played 12 times, appearing in half of the drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. The [3-2-1] General Order has also played in 3.21% of all 374 drawings.

Making its second appearance, the 3 2 0 0 0 1 Specific Order has now played in approximately 16.67% of the 12 drawings where the [3-2-1] General Order appeared, and in roughly 8.33% of the 24 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern appeared. This Specific Order has also appeared in 0.53% of all 374 drawings. The 3 2 0 0 0 1 Specific Order made its debut in the June 2nd, 2015 drawing.

If one were to look at the Pattern and the General Order, one would be tempted to think that an Australia Play had taken place. Not only did they feature the same numbers (3-2-1), they also played together before. But, if one were to look at the Specific Order, this can’t be an Australia Play. After all, there’s no such thing as a 3 2 1 Specific Order in Mega Millions! The 3 2 1 Specific Order exists only for Lotto Texas.

As for repeating Three-Number Combinations, there were none on Friday night.

Will next week feature a true Australia Play?
