The End-of-Month Hop-Along

September is over. The beach towels have been replaced with textbooks, the flip flops for shoes, and the holiday decorations are starting to come out in full force. In the lottery world, Lotto Texas and Powerball had their last drawings for the month September 29th. Their grand prizes rose once again, and now stand at $9 million and $229 million, respectively. Saturday night was also a good one for lovers of Australia Plays and (repeating) Combinations.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 4, 11, 26, 34, 38, and 43, the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order made their 222nd appearance.

Of the 1590 Lotto Texas drawings, an Australia Play has taken place in 14% of them. An Australia Play was last seen exactly one week ago, in the September 22nd, 2018 drawing.

Four-Number Combination(s)

Bounding alongside the Australia Play was the repeating Four-Number Combination 11, 34, 38, and 43.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern remained the most commonly seen Pattern with winning numbers 9, 17, 34, 59, 64, and PB 22. This Pattern has now played 110 times.

No Australia Play here. Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Of the 312 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played 35.3% of the time and was last seen September 12th, 2018.

The [1-1-1-2-1] General Order made its 35th appearance and has now played in 31.8% of the 110 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has also played in 11.2% of all 312 drawings. Prior to Saturday night, the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order accompanied the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in the earlier-mentioned September 12th drawing.

Now with ten appearances, the 1 1 1 0 2 1 Specific Order has played in 28.6% of the 35 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-1-2-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 9.09% of the 110 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 312 drawings into consideration, this Specific Order has played 3.21% of the time. The 1 1 1 0 2 1 Specific Order previously played on June 27th, 2018.

This Combination debuted on February 11th, 2017.

October is right around the corner and there has yet to be a grand prize winner for either Lotto Texas or Powerball. Likewise, neither lottery is starting the month with a Pattern streak. Will either lottery see an encore, or even see a grand prize winner, in Wednesday’s drawing?

Never Gone for Long: Lotto Edition

Before we get to today’s lottery analysis, I want to thank guest blogger Romulun Harris for filling in while I was away.

September is almost over, and what a month it has been! Lotto Texas garnered the most attention with a monstrous {3-2-1} Pattern streak. After an astounding eight consecutive appearances, the Pattern was knocked off its pedestal with an Australia Play.

As we look at what happened on September 26, 2018, there were at least a couple of things Lotto Texas and Powerball had in common:

  1. Neither saw a Pattern encore
  2. Both saw their grand prizes grow to $8.25 million and $213 million, respectively

The third “common” thing is a bit subtler and requires further reading.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-2-1} Pattern didn’t stay off its pedestal for long, coming back strong with winning numbers 6, 13, 18, 30, 48, and 49. This Pattern has now played 832 times.

Down, but not out. Source: lotterytrend.com.

Of the 1589 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played in 52.4% of them, and was last seen on September 19, 2018.

Now with 156 appearances, the 3 1 2 Specific Order has played in 18.75% of the 832 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. This Specific Order has also played in 9.82% of all 1589 drawings. Prior to Wednesday night, the 3 1 2 Specific Order played on August 4, 2018.

Four-Number Combination(s)

In addition to the return of the {3-2-1} Pattern, there were two repeating Four-Number Combinations, both of which appeared ten years ago!

  • 6, 18, 30, 48 (Debuted July 5, 2008)
  • 6, 13, 18, 49 (Debuted December 6, 2008)

As much as this blog has gushed over Lotto Texas this month, Powerball still held strong.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 1, 2, 7, 30, 50, and PB 8, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has now played 62 times.

Last seen not that long ago. Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Given the 311 Powerball drawings so far, this Pattern has played 19.9% of

the time. Like the {3-2-1} Pattern in Lotto Texas, this Pattern played on September 19, 2018.

The [3-1-1-1] General Order made its 17th appearance and has played in 27.4% of the 62 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has also played in 5.47% of all 311 drawings. We last saw the [3-1-1-1] General Order on May 30, 2018.

Another stand-out moment for Powerball was the debut of the 3 0 1 1 0 1 Specific Order! This has now played in 5.88% of the 17 drawings where [3-1-1-1] was the General Order. This Specific Order has also played in 1.61% of the 62 drawings where the winning Pattern was {3-1-1-1} and in 0.32% of all 311 drawings.

Three-Number Combination(s)

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations Wednesday night.

September 29th will be the last drawing of the month for Lotto Texas and Powerball. Will the grand prizes continue to increase, or will they be won?

Autumn Brings More Surprises!

Hello again, Lottery Trend Fans! This is guest blogger, Romulun Harris, giving you the latest lottery updates. As we witness the second day of Autumn, two combinations make their first appearance in almost ten years and Lotto Texas experiences an Australian play and more! And now the details.

Lotto Texas

Last night on September 22, 2018, the winning numbers for Lotto Texas were 4, 7, 27, 35, 50, and 53.

Surprise appearance by the {2-2-2} Pattern. Source: lotterytrend.com.

As mentioned earlier, Lotto Texas experienced an Australian play when the {2-2-2} Pattern and 2 2 2 Specific Order both made their 221st appearance and appeared in approximately 13.92% of all 1588 drawings. They last played on August 8, 2018.

And, there were also a repeat appearance of two Four-Number Combinations:

  • 27, 35, 50, and 53, which debuted May 1, 2010 and
  • 4, 27, 35, and 53, which debuted November 29, 2008.

Like I said before, it’s not often that we see a Four-Number Combination repeat a short while after its debut.

Powerball

On the same night as Lotto Texas, Powerball’s winning numbers were 24, 61, 63, 64, 69 and PB 18.

The rarely played {4-1-1} Pattern made its 6th appearance and has played in approximately 1.94% of all 310 drawings. It last played on May 16, 2018.

The [1-4-1] General Order made its 3rd appearance and has played in 50% of all 6 drawings associated with the {4-1-1} Pattern and approximately 0.97% of all 310 drawings. It last played on St. Patrick’s Day of 2017.

The 0 1 0 0 4 1 Specific Order made its 2nd appearance and has played in approximately 33.33% of all 6 drawings associated with the {4-1-1} Pattern, approximately 66.67 percent of all 3 drawings associated with the [1-4-1] General Order, and approximately 0.65% of all 310 drawings. Like the  [1-4-1] General Order, it last played on St. Patrick’s Day of 2017.

Powerball also experienced a repeat appearance of two Three-Number Combinations:

Well, seems Autumn is bringing us a lot of surprises in the lottery world. How long will it last? Until next time, this is guest blogger, Romulun Harris, signing off.

The Pattern Encores Cometh

There’s no denying that September is an exciting month. Regardless of how you (or your kids) feel about going back to class, or the start of football season, you can’t deny there’s a buzz in the air.

September 19th was an intense night for Lotto Texas and Powerball. Not only did their respective grand prizes increase to $7.75 million and $178 million, they both saw Pattern encores!

Although, “Pattern encore” is an understatement for Lotto Texas.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-2-1} Pattern streak has now grown to mammoth proportions, with an astounding eight consecutive appearances! Wednesday night’s winning numbers were 5, 24, 28, 34, 37, and 45.

With 1587 Lotto Texas drawings so far, this Pattern has played 52.4% of the time.

Now with 125 appearances, the 1 3 2 Specific Order has played in 15.04% of the 831 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. Given the 309 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played 19.7% of the time.

The [1-1-3-1] General Order made its 28th appearance and has now played in 45.9% of the 61 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 309 drawings into consideration, this General Order has played 9.06% of the time. We last saw the [1-1-3-1] General Order in the June 23rd, 2018 drawing.

Now with two appearances, the 1 0 1 3 0 1 Specific Order has played in 7.14% of the 28 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-3-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 3.28% of the 61 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Finally, this Specific Order has played in 0.65% of all 309 drawings. The 1 0 1 3 0 1 Specific Order made its debut on March 24th, 2018.

Three-Number Combination(s)

In addition to the Pattern encore, there was a lone repeating Three-Number Combination:

Summer is almost over, and it looks like Lotto Texas and Powerball have a big send-off in the works. Will the {3-2-1} Pattern streak continue, and can Powerball get a Pattern streak established Saturday night?

Speaking of transitions, Romulun Harris, our Mega Millions analyst, will be your guide for Saturday night’s drawing. I’ll be away on business.

The Great and Powerful Pattern

What can be said about September 15th? Other than it being the halfway mark in September, it’s not that big of a deal, is it? After all, there’s nothing that great about the grand prizes for Lotto Texas and Powerball going up to $7.5 million and $163 million, is there? Nothing that great about the {3-2-1} Pattern playing seven times in a r–.

Who are we kidding!? Saturday night was a mighty big deal and not just because the jackpots rose! It was in Lotto Texas, the “small fry” of the Big Three lotteries, that a Pattern played seven times in a row. Not even the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, King of Mega Millions, has ever performed such a feat!

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

The record-breaking “seven-peat” featured winning numbers 2, 21, 24, 41, 46, and 52. This brings the number of times the {3-2-1} Pattern has played up to 830.

The six numbers that shattered a record. Source: lotterytrend.com.

Of the 1586 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played 52.3% of the time. Recall that we last saw this Pattern on September 12th, 2018.

Now with 148 appearances, the 1 2 3 Specific Order has played in 17.8% of the 830 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 1586 drawings into consideration, this Specific Order has played 9.33% of the time. Prior to Saturday night, the 1 2 3 Specific Order played on September 8th, 2018. How interesting it would’ve been if a playback occurred!

Similar Spread

Instead, another level of awesomeness was applied when a similar spread showed up. The spread for Saturday night’s numbers was 19:03:17:05:06. This is similar to the spread seen on September 25th, 2010. That night, the winning numbers were 1, 7, 26, 43, 46, and 51 and the spread was 06:19:17:03:05. Note how the numbers in the spreads are the same, but the orders are different.

Four-Number Combination(s)

Of course, Lotto Texas couldn’t have just a {3-2-1} Pattern “seven-peat” or a similar spread. There had to be a repeating Four-Number Combination thrown into the mix, too!

And what of Powerball? Was it struck with a touch of Pattern Streak Fever?

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Powerball remained immune to streak fever, but it had a strong night. With winning numbers 2, 18, 19, 24, 34, and PB 3, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern made its 60th appearance.

On a different journey. Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Of the 308 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played in 19.5% of them, and was last seen on June 23rd, 2018.

The [1-3-1-1] General Order made its 17th appearance and has now played in 28.3% of the 60 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 308 drawings into consideration, this General Order has played 5.52% of the time. Prior to Saturday night, the [1-3-1-1] General Order played on February 7th, 2018.

Now with three appearances, the 1 3 1 0 0 1 Specific Order has played in 17.6% of the 17 drawings where the General Order was [1-3-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 5% of the 60 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.97% of all 308 drawings. The 1 3 1 0 0 1 Specific Order was last seen on July 30th, 2016.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Powerball’s contribution to the “awesome sauce” pot was the repeating Three-Number Combination 2, 18, and 19.

This Combination made its debut in the March 4th, 2017 drawing.

It can be said without a doubt that September 15th was one of, if not the biggest night Lottery Binge has covered. Lotto Texas has developed a love affair with the {3-2-1} Pattern and we’ll need to keep an eye on whether the record-breaking streak continues, or there’s a break-up. Powerball hasn’t seen an encore in a while. Could a {3-1-1-1} Pattern encore show up Wednesday night?

Pattern Streaks. They Do a Lottery Good

September 12, 2018 was a good night for lottery lovers. Not only did the Lotto Texas jackpot rise to $7.25 million, the Pattern streak held strong! Powerball, on the other hand, didn’t see a Pattern encore. What it did see was a rise in the jackpot, now standing at a cool $147 million.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

In an amazing turn of events, the {3-2-1} Pattern made its sixth, yes sixth consecutive appearance! This time, the winning numbers were 1, 3, 12, 20, 36, and 44.

Of the 1585 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played 52.3% of the time and remains second-to-none. The last time we saw the {3-2-1} Pattern was on September 8, 2018.

Now with 151 appearances, the 3 2 1 Specific Order has played in 18.2% of the 829 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 1585 drawings into consideration, this Specific Order has played 9.53% of the time. Prior to Wednesday night, the 3 2 1 Specific Order played on August 11, 2018.

Four-Number Combination(s)

There was no similar spread this time. Instead, there was a repeating Four-Number Combination!

It was nearly seventeen years ago when this Combination first showed up! Will another seventeen years pass before it appears again?

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Although Lotto Texas appeared to have the lion’s share of the action, Powerball was no slouch. With winning numbers 6, 28, 48, 63, 64, and PB 24, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 109th appearance.

Powerball had its own tricks. Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Given that there have been 307 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played in 35.5% of them.

The [1-1-1-2-1] General Order has now appeared in 34 drawings and has played in 31.2% of the 109 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 307 drawings into consideration, this General Order has played 11.1% of the time.

Now with nine appearances, the 1 1 0 1 2 1 Specific Order has played in 26.5% of the 34 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-1-2-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 8.26% of the 109 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Finally, when looking at all 307 drawings, this Specific Order has played 2.93% of the time.

Instead of a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore, Powerball gifted us with a playback. That is to say, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, [1-1-1-2-1] General Order, and 1 1 0 1 2 1 Specific Order all played together on September 5, 2018!

Three-Number Combination(s)

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Lotto Texas’s Pattern streak is one to look out for in Saturday’s drawing? Will the {3-2-1} Pattern shatter all records and go for a seventh appearance? Could Powerball get a touch of Pattern streak fever?

The Five Voyages of a Common Pattern

Pattern streak fever was present in Mega Millions this past Friday, and it spread to Lotto Texas on September 8, 2018. The Lottery World was set on fire Saturday night with a five-peat and other things so wild they can’t be talked about in an introduction! The only other thing we can say is that the grand prizes rose for both Lotto Texas and Powerball. The respective prizes are now $6 million and $132 million.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 14, 21, 33, 43, 47, and 48, the {3-2-1} Pattern went on to play for the fifth time in a row! This Pattern has now played 828 times.

Of the 1584 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played 52.3% of the time. September 5, 2018 was when we last saw the {3-2-1} Pattern.

Now with 147 appearances, the 1 2 3 Specific Order has played in 17.8% of the 828 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern, and in 9.28% of all 1584 drawings. Prior to Saturday night, the 1 2 3 Specific Order played on June 2, 2018.

Similar Spread

The key thing to remember about a similar spread is that this happens when the numbers in the spreads are the same, but the orders are different. The spread for Saturday night was 07:12:10:04:01. This is similar to the spread that was seen on November 26, 2014. That night, the winning numbers were 14, 21, 31, 35, 36, and 48 and the spread was 07:10:04:01:12.

Lotto Texas developed a fondness for similar spreads last month, even seeing them happen back-to-back. Could another similar spread appear Wednesday night?

Four-Number Combination(s)

Believe it or not, there were no repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Although Lotto Texas dominated this past Saturday, Powerball still had a respectable showing and had its own surprises!

Of the 306 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played in 30.1% of them, and was last seen on September 1, 2018.

The [2-1-2-1] General Order has played 28 times and has now appeared in 30.4% of the 92 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has played in 9.15% of all 306 drawings, and previously played on August 25, 2018.

Now with five appearances, the 2 1 2 0 0 1 Specific Order has played in 17.9% of the 28 drawings where the General Order was [2-1-2-1]. This Specific Order has also appeared in 5.43% of the 92 drawings where the winning Pattern was {2-2-1-1}. When taking all 306 drawings into consideration, this Specific Order has played 1.63% of the time. The 2 1 2 0 0 1 Specific Order was last seen on March 22, 2017.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Powerball may not have seen a Pattern encore, but there were two repeating Three-Number Combinations:

The big things to look out for Wednesday night are similar spreads and Pattern streaks. Will the {3-2-1} Pattern streak continue in Lotto Texas, and could either lottery see a similar spread?

The Four-Timing Charm of the {3-2-1} Pattern

We’re going straight for the jugular today. September 5th belonged to Lotto Texas. Yes, the $6.75 million jackpot was dwarfed by Powerball’s $114 million. However, Lotto Texas was the one that saw a Pattern play four times in a row. Furthermore, that four-peat had a couple of other goodies nestled inside.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

There have been 1583 Lotto Texas drawings, and this Pattern has played in 52.2% of them. Not only did the {3-2-1} Pattern play in this past Saturday’s drawing, it was also seen in the August 29th and August 25th drawings!

Also on board the encore train was the 1 3 2 Specific Order. Now with 124 appearances, this Specific Order has played in 15% of the 827 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 1583 drawings into consideration, this Specific Order has played 7.83% of the time.

Seeing as both the {3-2-1} Pattern and 1 3 2 Specific Order were last seen together this past Saturday, this is what we like to call a playback.

Four-Number Combination(s)

A playback wasn’t the only “big play” of the evening. There was 6, 28, 29, and 46, the lone repeating Four-Number Combination.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Although Powerball didn’t have an encore, it too had a strong showing. With winning numbers 6, 15, 50, 59, 60, and PB 13, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern remained the lottery’s most commonly seen Pattern.

This Pattern has now played 108 times, and given the 305 Powerball drawings, it has played 35.4% of the time. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was last seen on August 29th, 2018.

The [1-1-1-2-1] General Order made its 33rd appearance and has now played in 30.6% of the 108 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 305 drawings into consideration, this General Order has played 10.8% of the time. The [1-1-1-2-1] General Order accompanied the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in the earlier-mentioned August 29th drawing.

However, a playback was not meant to be. Now with eight appearances, the 1 1 0 1 2 1 Specific Order has played in 24.2% of the 33 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-1-2-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 7.41% of the 108 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Finally, when looking at all 305 drawings, this Specific Order has played 2.62% of the time. Prior to Wednesday night, the 1 1 0 1 2 1 Specific Order played on July 21st, 2018.

Could the {3-2-1} Pattern go for a fifth appearance Saturday night? Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern make an encore in Powerball?

Bienvenidos al Septiembre (Welcome to September)

In the US, Spanish is one of several languages offered in schooling. Speaking of, this is the month that the remaining schools open their doors once again, the Halloween decorations show up in stores, and (handegg) football season starts up. Interestingly, September gets its name from “Septem”, the Latin word for seven.

The ninth (yet named for seven) month started on Saturday this year. September 1st saw the jackpots for Lotto Texas and Powerball inch up to $6.5 and $100 million, respectively, and one Pattern made its third repeat appearance.

Will the {3-2-1} Pattern make a fourth appearance in Wednesday’s Lotto Texas drawing? Could Powerball’s {2-2-1-1} see an encore?

End-of-August Double Playback Special

Lotto Texas and Powerball said goodbye to August this past Wednesday. Compared to what we saw this past Saturday and last Wednesday, August 29th was low-key. There were no similar spreads, and the {2-2-1-1} Pattern didn’t have a three-peat. Still, the lotteries packed a punch. Not only did Lotto Texas and Powerball see their respective jackpots rise to $6.25 million and $90 million, they both saw playbacks.

That is, the Pattern, General Order (Powerball), and Specific Order were seen together on a previous date. As we’ll see, each lottery had its own date.
