Wednesday Goes Boom

Talk about explosive! January 25, 2017 gifted us with not-commonly-seen Patterns in both Lotto Texas and Powerball. The lottery world was also graced with the debut of a new Specific Order.

Lotto Texas

The Pattern of the evening was {2-2-2}, gifted to us by winning numbers 1, 14, 19, 32, 37, and 46.

Not only did we see the 192^nd appearance of the {2-2-2} Pattern, we saw the 192^nd appearance of the [2-2-2] General Order and the 2 2 2 Specific Order. All three have now appeared in 13.6% of the 1415 drawings to date. For any new readers out there, we here at Lottery Binge like to call this setup an Australia Play. We last saw an Australia Play in the December 7, 2016 drawing.

This Australia Play brought us not one, but two repeating Four-Number Combinations.

1, 14, 37, 46 (debuted December 10, 2016) and
14, 19, 32, 37 (debuted February 17, 2016)

Powerball

Powerball may not have had an Australia Play, but it did have something rarer. The rarely-seen {3-2-1} Pattern made its fifth appearance. Yes, fifth! The winning numbers were 18, 28, 62, 66, 68, and PB 22.

This Pattern has played in 3.65% of the 137 Powerball drawings, and believe it or not, this was the Pattern to ring in the new year on January 4, 2017.

The [2-3-1] General Order was also last seen in the January 4^th drawing. Now with four appearances, this General Order has played in 80% of the five drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 2.92% of all drawings.

By process of elimination, Powerball is the one with a new Specific Order. The 0 2 0 0 3 1 Specific Order, to be precise. This Specific Order has now played in 25% of the four drawings where the [2-3-1] General Order has appeared, 20% of the five drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.73% of all Powerball drawings.

As we march on to the last weekend before the Super Bowl, will Lotto Texas and Powerball continue to surprise us with rarely-seen Patterns?

And the Gifting Continues

What a week! Wednesday’s drawing had an Australia Play and repeating Three-Number Combinations in Lotto Texas and Powerball, respectively. The gift explosion continued Saturday in more ways than one.

Lotto Texas

The December 10, 2016 drawing was the 731^st appearance of the {3-2-1} Pattern. The occasion was marked by winning numbers 1, 9, 14, 26, 37, and 46.

As of Saturday, this Pattern has appeared in 52.1% of the 1402 Lotto Texas drawings to date. We previously saw the {3-2-1} Pattern last weekend in the December 3, 2016 drawing.

The 3 1 2 Specific Order made its 130^th appearance, its first since the October 5, 2016 drawing. This Specific Order has played in 17.8% of the 731 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern, and in 9.27% of all drawings.

Our Lotto Texas coverage ends with two repeating Four-Number Combinations:

1, 9, 37, and 46, which debuted on July 4, 2012 and
1, 14, 26, and 46, which debuted November 4, 2015

Powerball

Remember in our coverage of Wednesday’s drawings that Lotto Texas saw an Australia Play? Powerball got in on the action with the appearance of the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern. The winning numbers were 12, 21, 32, 44, 66, and PB 15.

With 13 appearances, the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played in 10.5% of 124 Powerball drawings to date. As is the nature of the Australia Play, these statistics also apply to the [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order and the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order. Powerball last saw an Australia Play in the November 2, 2016 drawing.

As parents (and teachers) brace for the upcoming Christmas break, will we see an unprecedented Australia Play streak? Will either Lotto Texas or Powerball see a similar spread?

Mid-Week Fireballs

We’re only a week into December and so far, it’s shaping up to be quite a month! December 7, 2016 gave us a Pattern in Lotto Texas that we haven’t seen in a while, and Powerball had an interesting play as well.

Lotto Texas

Although we didn’t see a repeating Four-Number Combination this time around, we saw an Australia Play. That is, the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order made their 191^st appearance. The winning numbers were 4, 5, 29, 34, 40, and 53.

As of Wednesday, the {2-2-2} Pattern has played in 13.6% of the 1401 Lotto Texas drawings. As is the nature of the Australia Play, this statistic also applies to the 2 2 2 Specific Order. We last saw both the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order in the October 29, 2016 drawing.

Powerball

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern did not make an encore appearance. Instead, we saw the {3-1-1-1} Pattern play. The 23^rd appearance of this Pattern was made possible by winning numbers 41, 48, 49, 53 64, and PB 20.

The {3-1-1-1} Pattern has now played in 18.7% of the 123 Powerball drawings to date. Prior to Wednesday, this Pattern previously played in the November 26, 2016 drawing.

The [1-3-1-1] General Order made its 9^th appearance, its first since the November 12^th, 2016 drawing. This General Order has now played in 39.1% of the 23 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.32% of all Powerball drawings.

Next, the 0 0 1 1 3 1 Specific Order made its second appearance Wednesday night. This Specific Order has now played in 22.2% of the 9 drawings where the [1-3-1-1] General Order has appeared, 8.70% of the 23 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and 1.63% of all 123 drawings. The 0 0 1 1 3 1 Specific Order made its debut in the November 21, 2015 drawing.

Finally, Powerball saw two Three-Number Combinations repeat. These were

49, 64, and PB 20, which first played August 27, 2016, and
48, 49, and PB 20, which first played October 15, 2016

Looking ahead to Saturday’s drawing, will Patterns not commonly seen in either Lotto Texas or Powerball continue to have their play? Will we see another Australia Play?

Big League Plays

Chicago beating Cleveland wasn’t the only thing that happened on November 2^nd! As the Cubs and the Indians went head-to-head in a nail-biter that will be talked about for years to come, Lotto Texas saw a Four-Number Combination that debuted last decade. The Powerball Pattern Tango was put on hold once again—but things heated up with an Australia Play!

Here is the rundown for Lotto Texas and Powerball on what was truly a historic night.

Lotto Texas

The {3-2-1} remains the most commonly seen Pattern, with Wednesday’s drawing marking its 724^th appearance. The winning numbers were 3, 4, 29, 31, 33, and 50.

The {3-2-1} Pattern has played in 52% of the 1391 drawings that Lotto Texas has had so far. We last saw this Pattern last week in the October 26^th drawing.

The 2 3 1 Specific Order made its 119^th appearance, its first since the September 7^th, 2016 drawing. Out of the 724 drawings in which the {3-2-1} has appeared, the 2 3 1 Specific Order has played 16.4% of the time. This becomes 8.55% when we look at all 1391 drawings.

The Four-Number Combination 3, 4, 31, 50 made its second appearance. To see when this Combination debuted, we need to go back to January 30^th, 2008.

Powerball

The {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its twelfth appearance Wednesday, thanks to winning numbers 13, 18, 37, 54, 61 and PB 5.

Given that there have been 113 drawings, the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played 10.6% of the time. The thing about Australia Plays in Powerball (and Mega Millions) is that not only is the Pattern {1-1-1-1-1-1}, it follows that the General Order is [1-1-1-1-1-1] and the Specific Order is 1 1 1 1 1 1. Just like the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, these have also played 10.6% of the time. We last saw the Australia Play in the October 19^th, 2016 drawing.

Will Lotto Texas get in on the Australia Play action, or will another rarely-seen Pattern play? Will there be a definite Pattern that takes the title of Most Commonly Seen Pattern in Powerball?

End-of-Month Blowout

Like the month of October itself, Lotto Texas and Powerball didn’t cool down much Saturday night. The October 29^thdrawings provided some interesting developments to mark the end of the month, one such development being how the repeating Four-Number Combinations in Lotto Texas played out. For those of you who were awaiting the next installment of the Powerball Pattern Tango, that has been postponed for the time being.

Lotto Texas

We were treated to the {2-2-2} Pattern, provided to us by winning numbers 11, 18, 20, 28, 41, and 42.

With 190 appearances to date, the {2-2-2} Pattern is currently the second-most commonly played Pattern in Lotto Texas. The {2-2-2} Pattern is a special one; not only is it a Pattern, its corresponding Specific Order is also 2 2 2. We here at Lottery Binge like to call this scenario an Australia Play. Since we got ourselves here an Australia Play, both the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order have played in 6.47% of the 1390 Lotto Texas drawings. The last time we saw an Australia Play was a little over a couple of months ago in the August 17, 2016 drawing.

We saw two Four-Number Combinations repeat. The first one was 20, 28, 41, and 42, which made its debut back in the August 22^nd, 2009 drawing.

The second Combination, 11, 20, 28, and 42 has an interesting history behind it. This combination has played not once, but twice before! The Four-Number Combination 11, 20, 28, and 42 played for the first time on June 3, 2006, and again on March 27, 2010.

Powerball

In lieu of the Powerball Pattern Tango, we saw the 18^th appearance of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern. The winning numbers were 19, 20, 21, 42, 48, and PB 23.

Like its Lotto Texas friend {2-2-2}, the {3-1-1-1} is currently the second-most commonly seen Powerball Pattern. Unlike its friend, {3-1-1-1} is not capable of being an Australia Play. Out of the 112 Powerball drawings, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has played 16.1% of the time. Prior to Saturday’s drawing, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern previously played two weeks ago in the October 15, 2016 drawing.

The [3-1-1-1] General Order made its fourth appearance, its first since the June 4, 2016 drawing. Out of the 18 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern, the [3-1-1-1] General Order has played 22.2% of the time. This becomes 3.57% when we look at all 112 drawings.

Finally, we come to the debut of the 0 3 1 1 0 1 Specific Order. So far, it has appeared in 25% of the four drawings where [3-1-1-1] was the General Order of the evening. When we look at the 18 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern played, the 0 3 1 1 0 1 Specific Order has played 5.56% of the time. This becomes 0.89% when we look at all 112 drawings.

As we shift gears to November, will Lotto Texas and Powerball continue their hot streak, or will there be a cool down?

The Common and the Rare

Is it the high of life, or a pre-Halloween sugar rush? Whatever it is, Lotto Texas and Powerball showed no signs of slowing down on October 19^th. In one way, they were like night and day. Lotto Texas saw its most commonly played Pattern whereas Powerball saw one of its least commonly played Patterns. Nevertheless, that Pattern is a gem in and of itself.

Lotto Texas

For the 722^nd time since Lotto Texas went to the 1-54 numbering system, the {3-2-1} Pattern made an appearance. Wednesday’s winning numbers were 16, 22, 31, 38, 43, and 51.

Of the 1387 drawings, the {3-2-1} Pattern has played in 52.1% of them. We last saw this Pattern a couple of weeks ago in the October 5, 2016 drawing.

The 1 2 3 Specific order made its 134^th appearance, its first since the September 21, 2016 drawing. This Specific Order has appeared in 18.6% of the 722 drawings that have {3-2-1} as the winning Pattern, and in 9.66% of all Lotto Texas drawings.

Two Four-Number Combinations repeated last night, and their debut dates were truly something to behold:

16, 22, 43, and 51, which first played September 23, 2015 and
16, 31, 38, and 51, which first played September 23, 2006.

As you can see from the dates above, the debut dates were exactly nine years apart. That does not happen very often!

Powerball

Although the {3-1-1-1} Pattern didn’t make a four-peat appearance, we saw the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern play for the first time since July 16, 2016. What makes this Pattern special is that its General Order is [1-1-1-1-1-1] and its Specific Order is 1 1 1 1 1 1. When the Pattern and the General Order and the Specific Order are the same in Powerball (and Mega Millions), we call this an Australia Play.

This edition of the Australia Play was brought to you by 10, 16, 38, 43, 63, and PB 23.

The Australia Play has appeared in 11 of the 109 Powerball drawings to date, which means that it has played 10.1% of the time. This statistic applies to not only the Pattern, but the General Order and Specific Order as well.

We saw a repeating Three-Number Combination in the form of 16, 38, and 63, which debuted December 23, 2015. Talk about an early Christmas gift.

Will Saturday’s drawing give us another rarely seen Pattern?

A Visit Down Under and a Series of Firsts

In our last Lotto Texas/Powerball post, we wondered whether or not we’d see the {3-2-1} go for a repeat and if {3-1-1-1} would have a three-peat, respectively. Expectations for these streaks, or the possible beginnings of such, were dashed Wednesday night. Out of the ashes came a Lotto Texas Australia Play and a very rarely played Pattern in Powerball.

Lotto Texas

The winning numbers for the August 17, 2016 were provided by 5, 14, 21, 23, 41, and 53.

With its 189^th appearance, the {2-2-2} Pattern played for the first time since June 11, 2016. Given that there have been 1369 Lotto Texas drawings to date, this Pattern has played 13.8% of the time.

This gave way to the 2 2 2 Specific Order, which also previously played on June 11^th, 2016. For Lotto Texas, remember that instances where the Pattern and the Specific Order match are called Australia Plays on our blog. Thus, given the very nature of Australia Plays, the 2 2 2 Specific Order has also appeared in 189 drawings and has played 13.8% of the time.

While not an encore of the {3-2-1} Pattern, an Australia Play is nothing to sneeze at. In fact, this Australia Play also saw a repeat of two Four-Number Combinations!

Powerball

Powerball’s winning numbers were 33, 44, 49, 50, 52, and PB 8.

With these numbers, the {4-1-1} Pattern has now appeared a grand total of two, yes two, times. Given that we’ve had 91 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played 2.20% of the time. This Pattern played for the first time on April 13, 2016.

The [1-4-1] General Order made its debut, and has appeared in half of all drawings in which the {4-1-1} Pattern has played. Taking all 91 drawings into account, the [1-4-1] General Order has played 1.10% of the time.

The 0 0 1 4 0 1 Specific Order also made its debut in Wednesday’s drawing. Like the [1-4-1] General Order, it’s played in 1.10% of all Powerball drawings.

As we look ahead to Saturday’s drawing, will the Lotto Texas Australia Play and the Powerball {4-1-1} Pattern be bold enough to make an encore?

Lotto Texas and Powerball Saturday Night Combo Mambo

Saturday’s drawings for Lotto Texas and Powerball ended the week with a bang. The {3-2-1} Pattern streak in Lotto Texas had been broken and Powerball saw an Australia Play encore!

Lotto Texas

The winning numbers for the July 16^th, 2016 Lotto Texas drawing were 6, 13, 16, 17, 44, and 54.

Instead of the {3-2-1} Pattern that we saw for five consecutive plays, these numbers followed the {4-2} Pattern. Of the 1360 Lotto Texas drawings to date, the {4-2} Pattern has played 146 times, or 10.7% of the time. The last time we saw this Pattern play was back on May 25^th, 2016.

The {4-2} Pattern broke down into the 4 0 2 Specific Order, which prior to Saturday’s drawing hadn’t played since March 30^th, 2016. As of Saturday’s drawing, the 4 0 2 Specific Order has now played 20 times. Out of the 146 Lotto Texas drawings in which {4-2} has played, the 4 0 2 Specific Order has appeared 13.7% of the time. When we take all 1360 Lotto Texas drawings into account, this Specific Order has played only 1.47% of the time.

We also saw the appearance of three Four-Number Combinations, each having played twice. This is the first time our blog has covered such an occurrence! The three Four-Number Combinations were as follows:

6, 13, 17, and 54 which first played September 8^th, 2001.

Powerball

The winning numbers for the July 16^th, 2016 Powerball drawing were 11, 17, 40, 50, 62, and PB 26.

These numbers gave way to the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, which in fact played July 13^th, 2016 (this past Wednesday). Given the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, we also saw the [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order and the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order. This consecutive Australia Play brings the total number of drawings for the Pattern, General Order, and Specific Order up to 10. With 82 Powerball drawings to date, all three have played 12.2% of the time.

Powerball also saw some action with previously played Combinations. We saw two Three-Number Combinations make a second appearance. These Three-Number Combinations were

40, 50, and 62, which first played February 10^th, 2016.
11, 50, and 62, which first played March 12^th, 2016.

Looking ahead to next week, will the {4-2} Pattern create its own streak? Will Powerball see an Australia Play three-peat?

{3-2-1} Five in a Row and June Returns to Powerball

In the July 13^th drawings, Lotto Texas basked in the July sun, whereas Powerball was visited by June. More specifically, Powerball was visited by this past June.

Lotto Texas

The winning numbers in the July 13^th, 2016 Lotto Texas drawings were 3, 7, 16, 27, 34, and 46.

As of today, we can say that the {3-2-1} Pattern has made five, yes five consecutive appearances! The past four appearances were on June 29^th, July 2nd, July 6^th, and July 9^th. The July 13^th drawing brought the number of {3-2-1} Pattern appearances up to 711. Given the 1359 Lotto Texas drawings to date, this Pattern has played 52.3% of the time. There is no contest. The {3-2-1} Pattern continues to be far and away the most commonly seen Pattern in Lotto Texas!

The 3 2 1 Specific Order has now played 127 times, and in fact made a previous appearance in the July 2^nd, 2016 drawing. Given the 711 times in which the {3-2-1} Pattern has played, this Specific Order has appeared in approximately 17.9% of these drawings. Taking all 1359 Lotto Texas drawings into account, the 3 2 1 Specific Order has played 9.35% of the time.

The July 13^th, 2016 Lotto Texas drawing also saw a Four-Number Combination play in the form of 16, 27, 34,46. The first time this Combination played was back on September 18^th, 2013.

Powerball

Powerball’s winning numbers for July 13^th, 2016 were 3, 15, 29, 54, 57 and PB 10.

These numbers followed the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, which in fact played on June 25^th, 2016. The {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern has now appeared in 9 of 81 Powerball drawings. Given the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, we had a [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order and a 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order. Since this an Australia Play, that means the [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order and the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order have also appeared in 9 out of 81 drawings. All three have played in 11.1% of all Powerball drawings.

As we’ve explained in previous posts, an Australia Play is a fascinating event. With Powerball, it means that the Pattern, General Order, and Specific Order are the same. Looking back on fourth grade geography (or a Google search), Australia is the only country that’s also a continent. Not only that, but Australia is the only permanently inhabited continent entirely within the Southern Hemisphere.

There was only one place where June didn’t have a grip on Powerball, and that was in the Three-Number Combination. This Combination was brought to us by 15, 29, and 10, and it first played on January 2^nd, 2016.

As we look ahead to Saturday’s Lotto Texas and Powerball drawings, will Lotto Texas see a break from the {3-2-1} Pattern? Will Powerball see an Australia Play encore?

Mambos with Combos and the Australia Play Returns to Powerball

While the June 21st drawing may have seemed a bit underwhelming, the week went out with a bang. Both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw rarely played Combinations and Powerball saw yet another Australia Play.

Lotto Texas

The winning numbers for June 25^th, 2016 for Lotto Texas were 8, 15, 17, 40, 42, and 46.

These numbers played in a {3-3} Pattern, which in fact last played on May 28^th, 2016. The {3-3} Pattern has now played 114 times in the 1354 drawings, bringing it up to 8.42%. Given the {3-3} Pattern, the Specific Orders that are possible are

0 3 3

3 0 3

3 3 0

The June 24^th Lotto Texas drawing saw the 3 0 3 Specific Order play, and it too previously appeared on May 28^th, 2016. With that said, the 3 0 3 Specific Order has now played 38 times out of 114 drawings, or 33% of the time in which the {3-3} Pattern has played.

June 25^th saw a Four-Number Combination in the form of 17, 40, 42, and 46.

This Four-Number Combination has appeared not once, but twice before! The first appearance was back on January 22^nd, 2003 and the second appearance was back on March 19^th, 2008.

Powerball

The winning Powerball numbers for June 24^th, 2016 were 3, 27, 36, 56, 69, and PB25.

These numbers played in a {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, which in fact played exactly one week ago on June 18^th, 2016! This Pattern has now appeared in 8 out of 76 Powerball drawings, bringing it up to 10.52%. Given the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, the only possible General Order is [1-1-1-1-1-1] and the Specific Order is 1 1 1 1 1 1. Logically, the General Order and the Specific Order also appeared in the June 18^th Powerball drawing. Just like Australia is both a country and a continent, the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern is also a Specific Order. For those of you who have just started to check out our fair blog, we like to call such plays Australia Plays.

We also saw a Three-Number Combination in the form of 3, 27, and 69.
