Mega Millions’ August Bookends

Things came full circle for Mega Millions Tuesday night. Pattern-wise, August ended the way it started. Mild spoiler: The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern played. Sticking by a common Pattern boosted this jackpot to $169 million. Of course, with this being Mega Millions, there was more to Tuesday’s drawing than “just” a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern showing up!

General Lottery Analysis

Will Mega Millions kick off the weekend with a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern three-peat, a playback, or something completely different?

Clash of the Frequently Played Patterns

Greetings, Lotterytrend fans! Romulun Harris here. Last night in the Lottery District on August 29, 2022, Lotto Texas and Powerball’s respectively played {3-2-1} and {2-1-1-1-1} Patterns had a battle royale to see which could produce the most Combination Repeats.

In addition, Powerball’s {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has had its own little streak going on since August 24, 2022. Lotto Texas experienced a little streak since the same day as well, but it wasn’t from the {3-2-1} Pattern. If I were to say that the Lottery World had surprise visits from kangaroos on August 24 and August 27, 2022, you could possibly guess what pattern I’m talking about. And of course, this gave the {3-2-1} Pattern enough determination to get back up.

And now, the details.

LOTTO TEXAS

Analysis

The winning numbers of 6, 8, 9, 20, 36, and 45 resulted in the {3-2-1} Pattern making its 1083rd appearance.

With a quartet of Three-Number Combination Repeats, including one in its third appearance, Powerball came out on top in this battle royale. We can be sure that Lotto Texas and Powerball’s frequently played Patterns will have another one, but when? This is Romulun Harris signing off. Stay safe!

Saturday Nights Were Made for Encores

Let’s be honest: Summer’s over. Yeah, the calendar says summer ends in September, but really. Most students are already back in school or well on their way. Adults? Unless they’re making money in their sleep hands over fist, summer is a distant memory. There is, however, a sanctuary known as “the weekend”. The weekend is a time to destress, a time to cut loose, and for the adults, a time to go for the big money prizes. Yet, those prizes have a way of giving players the slip. Sometimes, it’s thanks to a Pattern that played the last time.

August 27, 2022 was a night for encore lovers. Both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw not only encores but rising jackpots as well. The Lotto Texas jackpot climbed to $14 million, and the Powerball jackpot climbed to $124 million.

Anyway, Mega Millions was able to get at least one repeating Three-Number Combination in Friday night. More importantly, the jackpot climbed to $153 million.

Is Mega Millions slowly building up to a grand August finale?

August Australia (Play) Affinity

Something’s been up with Lotto Texas and Powerball lately. Well, more than usual. There aren’t any monstrous sized jackpots on the horizon, so what’s going on with these two? Australia Plays, that’s what!

As August started winding down, the Australia Play started popping up more. Last weekend, Lotto Texas had a go with one, and Powerball saw one earlier this week. What with it still being August and all, August 24, 2022 was another good night for at least one Australia Play. As the jackpot grew to $13.75 million in Lotto Texas and $115 million in Powerball, was it Powerball that saw an Australia Play encore, or Lotto Texas that couldn’t survive long enough without featuring another one?

Which lottery will feature an Australia Play Saturday night?

The Friday Night Scale-Back

What a week it has been! More students returning to class, Mega Millions seeing eight repeating Three-Number Combinations, truly this calls for a celebration! No need for a grand bonanza, though. A celebration can be as simple as taking it easy, grateful that you made it through another week and enjoying the finer things. Or, if you’re a lottery, you celebrate the end of the week by taking things down a notch.

Mega Millions, pardon the cliché, flipped the script Friday night. This lottery took to playing a more common Pattern and overall scaled things back. Nonetheless, the jackpot grew to a sturdy $116 million.

General Lottery Analysis

Mega Millions swapped out the {3-2-1} Pattern for the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. The winning numbers for August 19, 2022 were 12, 18, 24, 46, 65 and MB 3.

Is a quieter week ahead for Mega Millions, or was Friday night the calm before the storm?

The Heat Makes Jackpots Grow Steady

Regardless of the back-to-school ads that pop up like mushrooms, August is firmly planted in summer. With August comes some of the hottest temperatures of the year. When it gets too hot, we want to do as little as possible outside. When it’s too hot outside and the hype of massive jackpots dies down, lotteries act similarly.

August 6, 2022 was another sticky summer night, and both Lotto Texas and Powerball had enough strength to give it a go with their most common Patterns. These gave their respective jackpots a boost to $9.5 million and $26 million.

A Jackpot’s Speedy Recovery

August is here at last, as well as all the mixed feelings that come with it. Yes, it’s still blazing hot outside and oldsters lament about how schools started after Labor Day, and yet, August is a month of beginnings. The new school year, for one. For Mega Millions, August means dusting off and growing the jackpot again.

Tuesday night proved to be a fruitful one! The same Pattern that knocked the jackpot down to size helped pick it back up again. Once the dust settled, the jackpot had grown to $36 million.

Mega Millions’ Jackpot Splashdown

When other business (read: day job) calls, you gotta do what you gotta do. A special thanks to our Mega Millions analyst Romulun Harris for doing the Wednesday and Thursday night blog posts.

The end of July is a bittersweet time. As sweltering hot as it has been, it’s hard to believe that another school year is right around the corner. Those “Back to School” ads make it hard to forget, don’t they? This year, we can add another bittersweet moment: the toppling of the Mega Millions jackpot.

On the night of July 29, 2022, a lone player from Illinois took on Mega Millions and walked away a billionaire (pre-tax, of course). Naturally, the jackpot reset to $20 million.
