You Get a Playback, and YOU Get a Playback…

The calendar switched to July Saturday night, and many hearts skipped a beat. Millions were in shock that 2023 reached the halfway mark so soon. Holiday or no, time seems to have a nasty way of speeding up over the weekend. Supposedly, having an activity or two over that brief period of freedom makes the passage of time bearable. For some, one planned activity was giving Lotto Texas and/or Powerball a go. That time spent bubbling in numbers was life-changing, even though all the players fell short of winning the jackpots.

Lotto Texas and Powerball operated on a similar wavelength July 1, 2023. Both lotteries featured a playback, but they went about it in their own way. These playback methods pushed their respective jackpots to $6.5 million and $522 million.

Note: For our new readers, or anyone who needs a refresher, a playback occurs when the Pattern, General Order (Mega Millions and Powerball only), and the Specific Order all played on the same date.

General Lottery Analysis

Lotto Texas

With winning numbers 27, 29, 35, 37, 44 and 46, the {3-3} Pattern made its 175th appearance. This Pattern has now played in 8.02% of all 2183 drawings.

Now with 54 appearances, the 0 3 3 Specific Order has played in 30.9% of the 175 drawings where {3-3} was the winning Pattern. Once all 2183 drawings have been taken into consideration, this Specific Order has played 2.47% of the time.

Both the {3-3} Pattern and the 0 3 3 Specific Order played June 7, 2023.

Four-Number Combinations

There were three repeating Four-Number Combinations:

  • 27, 29, 37, 46 (Debuted January 19, 2022)
  • 35, 37, 44, 46 (Debuted December 19, 2001)
  • 27, 29, 35, 37 (Debuted March 14, 2007)                                     

Powerball

Powerball’s winning numbers were 4, 17, 35, 49, 61 and PB 8, bringing the number of appearances of the Australia Play, a.k.a. The Ultimate Playback, to 55. There have now been 905 Powerball drawings, and the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order, and the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order have now played 6.08% of the time. An Australia Play was last seen March 20, 2023.

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-1-1-1} Pattern encore was made possible with 13, 22, 47, 51, 55 and MB 9. This Pattern has now played 168 times and has now played in 18.1% of the 893 Mega Millions drawings. Recall that the {3-1-1-1} Pattern was last seen June 27, 2023.

The [1-1-3-1] General Order, now with 49 appearances, has played in 29.2% of the 168 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 893 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 5.49% of the time. May 9, 2023 was the last time the [1-1-3-1] General Order played.

Now with three appearances, the 1 1 0 3 0 1 Specific Order has played in 6.12% of the 49 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-3-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 1.79% of the 168 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.34% of all 893 drawings. Prior to Friday night, the 1 1 0 3 0 1 Specific Order played April 20, 2021.
