A Thaw-some Play

Yes, it’s still winter here in Lottery Trend Country. No, it’s not as cold. In fact, things heated up in the January 23rd Mega Millions drawing. We’re going to start with the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern streak.

It got broken.

General Lottery Analysis

Instead of a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern four-peat, we were treated to the {2-2-1-1} Pattern. With winning numbers 2, 6, 30, 31, 55, and MB 7, this Pattern has played 93 times.

Will the {2-2-1-1} Pattern make an encore in Friday’s drawing?

And the Heat Goes On

The January thaw continued, and things heated up for Lottery Trend the night of January 20, 2018. For those of you who like Australia Plays, Saturday night was your night! Powerball, on the other hand, dipped its foot in the playback pool.

Will there be more playbacks and encores next week?

Warming Up with Mega Millions

After starting the week with a winter storm, we come now to a January thaw. Right now, at Lottery Trend headquarters, all the ice has gone and we’re receiving “regular” rain. We’re not meteorologists, so we’ll leave predicting the weather to the professionals. What we can do is let everyone know that Mega Millions kicked off the weekend with a Pattern three-peat.

General Lottery Analysis

January 19th saw the third consecutive appearance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, with winning numbers 3, 17, 23, 49, 66, and MB 23. This Pattern has now played 142 times.

We last saw the 1 2 0 1 1 1 Specific Order in the August 9th, 2016 drawing. This was reconfigured from the 1 2 1 0 1 1 Specific Order seen that night.

Three Number Combination(s)

Looks like Mega Millions took a break from repeating Three-Number Combinations this week.

Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern streak continue into Tuesday’s drawing?

Extremities

The weather has been extreme these past few days. On one end, sub-freezing temperatures drove most U.S. Southerners inside, to the point that the streets were abandoned. Siberians, on the other hand, took selfies of themselves with frozen eyelashes in sub-zero temperatures. At the other end, it was hot enough in Australia that the brains of bats were boiling.

So far, 2018 has been a year of extremes in the lottery world as well. The year started with an insanely huge jackpot in Powerball, and then things cooled down a bit. January 17th saw things heat up for both Lotto Texas and Powerball.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 9, 16, 19, 33, 40, and 46, both the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order played for 206th time Wednesday night.

Four-Number Combination(s)

  • 9, 16, 19, 40 (Debuted October 10, 2009)

This Combination made its debut in the November 21, 2015 drawing.

Will Saturday’s drawing give way to a fourth consecutive appearance for Powerball’s {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern? Will the Australia Play make an encore in Lotto Texas?

Twice is Nice, and it Came with Ice

Anyone fancy a barbecue?

After a rendezvous with snow last month, Lottery Trend headquarters got another blast of winter on January 16th. Houston and its suburbs got turned into a sprawling skating rink as other parts of the U.S. were blanketed in snow. ‘Tis better to look at ice and snow than to drive in it, though sometimes, it can’t be helped.

With a large chunk of the country firmly in winter’s grasp, and warmer temperatures a few days away, another phenomenon took place Tuesday night: A Pattern encore in Mega Millions.

You didn’t really think a winter storm would stop Mega Millions, did you?

General Lottery Analysis

After making a showing in this past Friday’s drawing, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern slid back into the picture. With winning numbers 3, 11, 23, 29, 59, and MB 18, this Pattern has now played 141 times.

This Specific Order was reconfigured from the 2 1 1 1 0 1 seen that night.

Three Number Combination(s)

It was a no-go for repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Will a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern three-peat be the torch that warms up Friday night?

Saturday Means “Encore”

A lot can change in a week! In our January 6th post, we covered a crazy large Powerball jackpot. Although jackpots for both Lotto Texas and Powerball were at “normal” levels January 13, 2018, other noteworthy things took place that night. One of these things was a Pattern encore.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

This statistic becomes 9.09% when looking at the 88 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} appeared. Finally, when taking all 238 drawings into account, this Specific Order has played 3.36% of the time. A Pattern for the Modern Age

Mega Millions strayed away from another playback. In fact, there were no “wild and crazy” plays Mega Millions is (in)famous for Friday night. However, the January 12th drawing had something for whose who dig repeating Combinations of the Three-Number kind.

General Lottery Analysis

Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern make an encore appearance in next Tuesday’s drawing?

Grounded

The buzz has died down in Powerball. With only one winner of the $559 million jackpot, the prize returned to a more “acceptable” level. Even without crazy-high jackpots, January 10th was a good night for Lotto Texas and Powerball fans who dig repeating Combinations.

Will either the {4-1-1} Pattern or {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern make an encore Saturday night?

Gone, But Not Forgotten

This past Friday was one to remember:

  1. Parts of the Eastern US were feeling the frigid effects/aftermath of a winter storm.
  2. There were three Mega Millions winners, with only one winning the coveted $450 million prize. The other two walked away with at least $1 million, which is nothing to sneeze at.

Although January 9th’s Mega Millions had a much smaller jackpot, Friday night lingered on. Sort of.

General Lottery Analysis

Remember the {2-2-1-1} Pattern? Not only did it play this past Friday, it played again Tuesday night. The 92nd appearance was highlighted by winning numbers 16, 29, 31, 65, 67, and MB 23.

Some parts of January 5th live on. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

With 322 Mega Millions drawings to date, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has played 28.57% of the time.

Along for the ride was the [1-2-2-1] General Order, which also appeared this past Friday. Now with 32 appearances, this General Order has played in 34.8% of the 92 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. When looking at all 322 drawings, this General Order has played in 9.94% of them.

The 0 1 2 0 2 1 Specific Order, now with five appearances, has played in 15.625% of the 32 drawings where the [1-2-2-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 5.43% of the 92 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared. Finally, when taking all 322 drawings into account, the 0 1 2 0 2 1 Specific Order has played 1.55% of the time. This too was last seen in this past Friday’s drawing.

We’re only ten days into 2018, and we’ve already seen a playback! That is, the Pattern, General Order, and Specific Order all played together in a previous drawing. And, this occurred with the {2-2-1-1} Pattern, the second-most commonly seen Pattern in Mega Millions. When it comes to big plays, could the {2-2-1-1} Pattern give the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern a run for its money this year?

Three Number Combination(s)

Not every element of Friday lingered. There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Will the {2-2-1-1} Pattern go for the three-peat? Could a playback encore take place? We’ll just have to wait until Friday night!

Big Things in Small Packages

The saying “Big things come in small packages” is one way to describe the night of January 6th. Lotto Texas may have repeating Four-Number Combinations from at least fifteen years ago, but Powerball has insanely high jackpots! Speaking of, Powerball stole the show, with a player in New Hampshire made $559 million richer. Lotto Texas, however, shall not be ignored. With Powerball getting all the media attention, one mustn’t forget that two lotteries play on Saturday nights.

Lotto Texas

Thrilling as Australia Plays may be, there were no repeating Four-Number Combinations Saturday night.

The [1-3-1-1] General Order, now with fifteen appearances, has played in 31.9% of the 47 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 6.36% of all 236 drawings. Prior to Saturday night, the [1-3-1-1] General Order was seen December 2, 2017.

This has now played in 6.67% of the fifteen drawings where the [1-3-1-1] General Order has appeared, and 2.13% of the 47 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. Finally, when taking all 236 drawings into account, the 1 0 3 0 1 1 Specific Order has played 0.42% of the time.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Powerball thought an insanely high jackpot was enough. There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Will either Pattern repeat in Wednesday’s drawing? Will there be more debuting Specific Orders?
