Megamillions Gets It Too!

Hello, Lottery fans, this is guest blogger, Romulun Harris, about to give his last post for a while. As we go deeper into Autumn, the event that happened with Lotto Texas on September 22, 2018 happened with Megamillions: an Australian play! Now for the report.

Last night on September 25, 2018, the winning numbers for Megamillions were 8, 16, 32, 48, 61, and MB 12.

As mentioned earlier, Megamillions experienced an Australian play when the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order, and 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order. They all made their 10th appearance and appeared in approximately 2.53% of all 396 drawings and last played on August 3, 2018.

There were no repeat Three-Number Combinations.

And now, before I leave you all, I would like to thank Freyja Harris for this opportunity to blog to you all for the past three days while she was on a trip in Canada. Freyja will be back tomorrow to fill in on the details while I continue my duties as analyst for lotterytrend-megamillions.com. Until the time comes again when I have to fill in for Freyja, this is Romulun Harris signing off.

Like I said before, it’s not often that we see a Four-Number Combination repeat a short while after its debut.

Powerball

On the same night as Lotto Texas, Powerball’s winning numbers were 24, 61, 63, 64, 69 and PB 18.

The Pattern Encores Cometh

There’s no denying that September is an exciting month. Regardless of how you (or your kids) feel about going back to class, or the start of football season, you can’t deny there’s a buzz in the air.

September 19th was an intense night for Lotto Texas and Powerball. Not only did their respective grand prizes increase to $7.75 million and $178 million, they both saw Pattern encores!

Although, “Pattern encore” is an understatement for Lotto Texas.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-2-1} Pattern streak has now grown to mammoth proportions, with an astounding eight consecutive appearances! Wednesday night’s winning numbers were 5, 24, 28, 34, 37, and 45.

With 1587 Lotto Texas drawings so far, this Pattern has played 52.4% of the time.

Now with 125 appearances, the 1 3 2 Specific Order has played in 15.04% of the 831 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. Given the 309 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played 19.7% of the time.

The [1-1-3-1] General Order made its 28th appearance and has now played in 45.9% of the 61 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 309 drawings into consideration, this General Order has played 9.06% of the time. We last saw the [1-1-3-1] General Order in the June 23rd, 2018 drawing.

Now with two appearances, the 1 0 1 3 0 1 Specific Order has played in 7.14% of the 28 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-3-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 3.28% of the 61 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Finally, this Specific Order has played in 0.65% of all 309 drawings. The 1 0 1 3 0 1 Specific Order made its debut on March 24th, 2018.

Three-Number Combination(s)

In addition to the Pattern encore, there was a lone repeating Three-Number Combination:

One (repeating) Three-Number Combination to rule them all. Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Summer is almost over, and it looks like Lotto Texas and Powerball have a big send-off in the works. Will the {3-2-1} Pattern streak continue, and can Powerball get a Pattern streak established Saturday night?

Speaking of transitions, Romulun Harris, our Mega Millions analyst, will be your guide for Saturday night’s drawing. I’ll be away on business.

Changing of the Patterns

A {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern “six-peat” wasn’t meant to be in the September 18, 2018 drawing. The changing of the Patterns didn’t just end a Pattern streak, it brought with it another rise in the jackpot. With the grand prize now a robust $275 million, Mega Millions continues to soar.

General Lottery Analysis

The Pattern that knocked {2-1-1-1-1} off its throne was {2-2-1-1}. The 111th appearance of this Pattern was thanks to winning numbers 31, 32, 43, 63, 68, and MB 17.

All it took was six numbers to end a streak. Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Given the 394 Mega Millions drawings to date, this Pattern has played 28.2% of the time. Prior to Tuesday night, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern played on August 17, 2018.

The [2-1-2-1] General Order made its 37th appearance and has now played in 33.3% of the 111 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has also played in 9.39% of all 394 drawings. We last saw the [2-1-2-1] General Order on July 13, 2018.

Now with five appearances, the 0 0 2 1 2 1 Specific Order has played in 13.5% of the 37 drawings where the General Order was [2-1-2-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 4.50% of the 111 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Finally, when looking at all 394 drawings, this Specific Order has played 1.27% of the time. The 0 0 2 1 2 1 Specific Order previously played on January 20, 2015. This was reconfigured from the 0 0 2 2 1 1 Specific Order seen that night, and the winning numbers were 31, 35, 56, 59, 63, and MB 6.

Three Number Combination(s)

The repeating Three-Number Combination of the evening was 32, 63, and 68.

This Combination made its debut on August 12, 2014.

Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing will be the last Mega Millions drawing of the summer, or winter if you’re reading from the Southern Hemisphere. With no Pattern streak, September 21st will certainly keep us on our toes. Will the grand prize continue to soar, or will it be brought back down to Earth?

A change of seasons comes a change of bloggers. Romulun Harris, one of our Mega Millions analysts, will be your guide for Friday and next Tuesday’s drawings. I’ll be out of town for a business trip.

The Great and Powerful Pattern

What can be said about September 15th? Other than it being the halfway mark in September, it’s not that big of a deal, is it? After all, there’s nothing that great about the grand prizes for Lotto Texas and Powerball going up to $7.5 million and $163 million, is there? Nothing that great about the {3-2-1} Pattern playing seven times in a r–.

Who are we kidding!? Saturday night was a mighty big deal and not just because the jackpots rose! It was in Lotto Texas, the “small fry” of the Big Three lotteries, that a Pattern played seven times in a row. Not even the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, King of Mega Millions, has ever performed such a feat!

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

The record-breaking “seven-peat” featured winning numbers 2, 21, 24, 41, 46, and 52. This brings the number of times the {3-2-1} Pattern has played up to 830.

The six numbers that shattered a record. Source: lotterytrend.com.

Of the 1586 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played 52.3% of the time. Recall that we last saw this Pattern on September 12th, 2018.

Now with 148 appearances, the 1 2 3 Specific Order has played in 17.8% of the 830 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 1586 drawings into consideration, this Specific Order has played 9.33% of the time. Prior to Saturday night, the 1 2 3 Specific Order played on September 8th, 2018. How interesting it would’ve been if a playback occurred!

Similar Spread

Instead, another level of awesomeness was applied when a similar spread showed up. The spread for Saturday night’s numbers was 19:03:17:05:06. This is similar to the spread seen on September 25th, 2010. That night, the winning numbers were 1, 7, 26, 43, 46, and 51 and the spread was 06:19:17:03:05. Note how the numbers in the spreads are the same, but the orders are different.

Four-Number Combination(s)

Of course, Lotto Texas couldn’t have just a {3-2-1} Pattern “seven-peat” or a similar spread. There had to be a repeating Four-Number Combination thrown into the mix, too!

More awesomeness. Source: lotterytrend.com.

And what of Powerball? Was it struck with a touch of Pattern Streak Fever?

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Powerball remained immune to streak fever, but it had a strong night. With winning numbers 2, 18, 19, 24, 34, and PB 3, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern made its 60th appearance.

On a different journey. Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Of the 308 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played in 19.5% of them, and was last seen on June 23rd, 2018.

The [1-3-1-1] General Order made its 17th appearance and has now played in 28.3% of the 60 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 308 drawings into consideration, this General Order has played 5.52% of the time. Prior to Saturday night, the [1-3-1-1] General Order played on February 7th, 2018.

Now with three appearances, the 1 3 1 0 0 1 Specific Order has played in 17.6% of the 17 drawings where the General Order was [1-3-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 5% of the 60 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.97% of all 308 drawings. The 1 3 1 0 0 1 Specific Order was last seen on July 30th, 2016.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Powerball’s contribution to the “awesome sauce” pot was the repeating Three-Number Combination 2, 18, and 19.

Top the heap. Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

This Combination made its debut in the March 4th, 2017 drawing.

It can be said without a doubt that September 15th was one of, if not the biggest night Lottery Binge has covered. Lotto Texas has developed a love affair with the {3-2-1} Pattern and we’ll need to keep an eye on whether the record-breaking streak continues, or there’s a break-up. Powerball hasn’t seen an encore in a while. Could a {3-1-1-1} Pattern encore show up Wednesday night?

Five Punch Pattern

Nothing like a Mega Millions drawing to kick off the weekend, right? September 14th, much like last time, kept a stiff upper lip and did nothing showy. As of Friday night, the grand prize is now $252 million. Thankfully, jackpots don’t depend on flash and pizzazz! And neither do Pattern streaks.

General Lottery Analysis

For the fifth time in a row, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern stuck it out. The 173rd appearance of this Pattern was thanks to winning numbers 23, 30, 40, 43, 66, and MB 13.

And the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern charm keeps coming! Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Of the 393 Mega Millions drawings, this Pattern has played 44% of the time.

The [1-2-1-1-1] General Order made its 39th appearance and has now played in 22.5% of the 173 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has also played in 9.92% of all 393 drawings. We last saw the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order in the August 21, 2018 drawing.

Now with nine appearances, the 0 1 2 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 23.1% of the 39 drawings where the General Order was [1-2-1-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 5.2% of the 173 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Finally, when taking all 393 drawings into consideration, this Specific Order has played 2.29% of the time. Prior to Friday night, the 0 1 2 1 1 1 Specific Order previously played on September 12, 2017.

Three Number Combination(s)

Friday night saw no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Mega Millions has the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in an iron grip! Will it continue to hold in Tuesday’s drawing?

Pattern Streaks. They Do a Lottery Good

September 12, 2018 was a good night for lottery lovers. Not only did the Lotto Texas jackpot rise to $7.25 million, the Pattern streak held strong! Powerball, on the other hand, didn’t see a Pattern encore. What it did see was a rise in the jackpot, now standing at a cool $147 million.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

In an amazing turn of events, the {3-2-1} Pattern made its sixth, yes sixth consecutive appearance! This time, the winning numbers were 1, 3, 12, 20, 36, and 44.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Although Lotto Texas appeared to have the lion’s share of the action, Powerball was no slouch. With winning numbers 6, 28, 48, 63, 64, and PB 24, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 109th appearance.

Powerball had its own tricks. Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Given that there have been 307 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played in 35.5% of them.

The [1-1-1-2-1] General Order has now appeared in 34 drawings and has played in 31.2% of the 109 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 307 drawings into consideration, this General Order has played 11.1% of the time.

Now with nine appearances, the 1 1 0 1 2 1 Specific Order has played in 26.5% of the 34 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-1-2-1]. Finally, when looking at all 307 drawings, this Specific Order has played 2.93% of the time.

Instead of a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore, Powerball gifted us with a playback. That is to say, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, [1-1-1-2-1] General Order, and 1 1 0 1 2 1 Specific Order all played together on September 5, 2018!

Three-Number Combination(s)

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Lotto Texas’s Pattern streak is one to look out for in Saturday’s drawing? Will the {3-2-1} Pattern shatter all records and go for a seventh appearance? Could Powerball get a touch of Pattern streak fever?

Brevity Was the Soul of Mega Millions

September 11th—a day that changed the course of humanity and one of the most defining moments of the 21st century. Considering the gravitas associated with this day, it was fitting that Mega Millions toned things down. The biggest draws Tuesday evening were (a) an increased grand prize (now at $227 million) and (b) a continuation of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern streak.

General Lottery Analysis

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern had a four-peat appearance, with winning numbers 15, 30, 51, 62, 67, and MB 19. This Pattern has played 172 times.

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern streak held on. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Given that there have been 392 Mega Millions drawings, this Pattern has played 43.9% of the time. We last saw the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern on September 7th, 2018.

The [1-1-1-2-1] General Order made its 40th appearance and has now played in 23.3% of the 172 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 392 drawings into consideration, this General Order has played 10.2% of the time. Prior to Tuesday night, the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order played on July 31st, 2018.

Now with five appearances, the 0 1 1 1 2 1 Specific Order has played in 12.5% of the 40 drawings where [1-1-1-2-1] was the General Order. This Specific Order has also played in 2.91% of the 172 drawings where the winning Pattern was {2-1-1-1-1}. Finally, when taking all 392 drawings into consideration, this Specific Order has played 1.28% of the time. The 0 1 1 1 2 1 Specific Order previously played on November 24th, 2017.

Three Number Combination(s)

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations this past Tuesday.

The Pattern streak is holding strong as we head into Friday night’s drawing. Will there be a five-peat for the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern?

The Five Voyages of a Common Pattern

Pattern streak fever was present in Mega Millions this past Friday, and it spread to Lotto Texas on September 8, 2018. The Lottery World was set on fire Saturday night with a five-peat and other things so wild they can’t be talked about in an introduction! The only other thing we can say is that the grand prizes rose for both Lotto Texas and Powerball. The respective prizes are now $6 million and $132 million.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 14, 21, 33, 43, 47, and 48, the {3-2-1} Pattern went on to play for the fifth time in a row! This Pattern has now played 828 times.

Staying on top with Pattern streaks. Source: lotterytrend.com.

Of the 1584 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played 52.3% of the time. September 5, 2018 was when we last saw the {3-2-1} Pattern.

Now with 147 appearances, the 1 2 3 Specific Order has played in 17.8% of the 828 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern, and in 9.28% of all 1584 drawings. Prior to Saturday night, the 1 2 3 Specific Order played on June 2, 2018.

Similar Spread

The key thing to remember about a similar spread is that this happens when the numbers in the spreads are the same, but the orders are different. The spread for Saturday night was 07:12:10:04:01. This is similar to the spread that was seen on November 26, 2014. That night, the winning numbers were 14, 21, 31, 35, 36, and 48 and the spread was 07:10:04:01:12.

Lotto Texas developed a fondness for similar spreads last month, even seeing them happen back-to-back. Could another similar spread appear Wednesday night?

Four-Number Combination(s)

Believe it or not, there were no repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Although Lotto Texas dominated this past Saturday, Powerball still had a respectable showing and had its own surprises!

Now with five appearances, the 2 1 2 0 0 1 Specific Order has played in 17.9% of the 28 drawings where the General Order was [2-1-2-1]. This Specific Order has also appeared in 5.43% of the 92 drawings where the winning Pattern was {2-2-1-1}. When taking all 306 drawings into consideration, this Specific Order has played 1.63% of the time. The 2 1 2 0 0 1 Specific Order was last seen on March 22, 2017.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Powerball may not have seen a Pattern encore, but there were two repeating Three-Number Combinations:

The big things to look out for Wednesday night are similar spreads and Pattern streaks. Will the {3-2-1} Pattern streak continue in Lotto Texas, and could either lottery see a similar spread?
