Attention-Seeking Mega Millions

It wasn’t that long ago that a monster-sized jackpot was won in Mega Millions. Sometime between then and the June 12, 2020 drawing, Lotto Texas had a brief moment where it had the largest jackpot. The keyword here is “had”. What about Powerball, you ask? It too was recently cut down to size and was on the way to building its jackpot back up, only to be claimed swiftly. With no one able to pick all six numbers, and with a little help from an uncommonly seen Pattern (and the accompanying madness), Mega Millions reigned supreme with a jackpot that climbed to $22 million.

Will the Mega Millions jackpot rise again Tuesday night, or will it too hit the reset button?

Lotto Texas Leads the Pack

Hell froze over June 10, 2020. In a Lottery Binge first, Lotto Texas (that wasn’t a typo) possessed the largest jackpot! With no one able to pick the correct six numbers, the prize ascended to $21 million.

Powerball got whacked upside the head by an enormous block of cheese. A Wisconsinite snatched the prize before Powerball could say, “Eh?” Naturally, the prize reset itself to $20 million.

Lotto Texas is currently king of the hill, jackpot-wise. We will see on Saturday night if it can keep its crown for a little longer or if it will be dethroned. It would be wise for Lotto Texas to know that the bigger they come, the harder they fall!

The Twisted Jackpot Tale

For the longest time, Lotto Texas was the “respectable” lottery. While Mega Millions and Powerball flirted with monstrously large jackpots from time to time, Lotto Texas never dared to go that high.

Sometime over the past few months, it developed an attitude shift. We’re not sure when this change in personality occurred, but June 6, 2020 was another night that the Lotto Texas jackpot resisted a takedown. As a result, it climbed to $20.75 million.

Powerball’s reset point isn’t as high as it once was. Whether that caused a boost in Lotto Texas’s confidence remains to be seen. Regardless, a prize that bumped up to $22 million is plenty to start that (early) retirement nest egg!

Saturday night’s results may be the opening for an active week. We’ll need to keep an eye out for a potential {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern three-peat in Powerball. We’ll also know if Lotto Texas can continue on its jackpot high or if it will be brought down to size.

The Devilishly Delicious Delirium of a Double Encore

There are no words to describe what happened the night of June 3, 2020. Powerball’s jackpot was brought down to size by a lone winner from West Virginia. This, along with encores from both Lotto Texas’s Pattern and Specific Order, caused a disturbance the likes of which had never been seen before. Because the Lotto Texas jackpot rose to $19.5 million and the Powerball jackpot reset to $20 million, there is now only a $500,000 difference between them!

Even after what happened this past Wednesday night, it isn’t likely that Lotto Texas’s jackpot will surpass Powerball’s. Getting back to the present, it appears that both lotteries played their most commonly seen Patterns. Will Saturday night produce encores for either the {3-2-1} Pattern or the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern?

The Jackpot Cornucopia

Lotto Texas and Powerball made it to the end of May. If you were itching for Pattern encores for May 30, 2020, then there were none to be had. Instead, something grander occurred. The jackpots for both lotteries rose once more! A $18.75 million prize in Lotto Texas and a $135 million prize in Powerball were nothing to sneeze at.

The Iron Grip of the {3-2-1} Pattern

The {3-2-1} Pattern reigned supreme May 23, 2020. There was, in fact, a {3-2-1} Pattern three-peat in Lotto Texas. However, that wasn’t enough to satiate this Pattern’s appetite. That’s right: the {3-2-1} Pattern also showed up in Powerball! A Pattern’s double appearance did nothing to bring the jackpots down. If anything, that made them grow even more! Lotto Texas grew to $17.5 million and Powerball ballooned to $114 million.

Beer and barbeque. Beach weather. Holiday weekend! All these and more were perfectly good reasons for Mega Millions to pile on with a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore. It would have made for a stellar kick off to the summer season. There were other plans for the May 22, 2020 drawing. However, one plan that stuck around was the rising jackpot. The Grand {3-2-1} Pattern Encore

So, the {3-2-1} Pattern made an encore in Lotto Texas. Big deal. Why yes, it was a big deal!

The {3-2-1} Pattern encore of May 20, 2020 solidified this Pattern as the King of Lotto Texas. Furthermore, this encore produced a repeating Five-Number Combination (and all that it implies) and fueled this lottery’s love of a growing jackpot. This normally unassuming lottery saw its grand prize rise to $17.25 million.

Powerball didn’t ruffle any feathers. However, it too saw its jackpot climb, reaching $104 million.
