A Different Kind of Shower

August is known for being hot, almost ridiculously so, and the month when many students return to school. This month is also known for another phenomenon: meteor showers. Given that so many of us contend with light pollution, we’ll have to deal with another type of shower, the shower of repeating Combinations. Saturday night was prime viewing!

The night of August 26, 2023 was a night for both repeating Combinations and rising jackpots. Lotto Texas grew graciously to $ 6 million. Powerball, powered by a near playback, grew to $363 million.

Saturdays and Power Plays

Lottery Patterns have power levels that vary with each drawing. A jackpot that took months to grow can be brought down in a single night. Sometimes, the same Pattern that forces a jackpot reset can bring the jackpot up ever so slightly, only to knock it back down again. Recently, both Lotto Texas and Powerball know all about how a Pattern doesn’t aways act alone.

That Rebooting Feeling

For good or ill, reboots have been a running theme of a good part of the 21st century so far. In fact, they seem inevitable. Although not every movie and television show get hits with the reboot bug (though some would argue, “Give it time.”), lottery reboots are inevitable. What’s more is that they happen without notice. A Wednesday night in the middle of a sweltering August is just as good as any other time for a lottery reboot to strike.

It was Lotto Texas’s turn to face the reboot music, so to speak, as the jackpot was knocked back down to $5 million. Meanwhile, Powerball’s jackpot continued unbothered, growing to $264 million.

The Art of Multi-Dipping

What is multi-dipping? Double-dipping and multitasking, sure, but multi-dipping? In this case, multi-dipping involves the presence of a Pattern that has played at least two times in a row and had a repeating Combination that has played at least three times. Multi-dipping can either boost a jackpot or bring someone great fortune. Often, as we saw August 9, 2023, it’s the former.

Of Lotto Texas and Powerball, at least one of those lotteries practiced the art of multi-dipping. However, both lotteries saw a boost in their jackpots. Lotto Texas grew to $15.75 million, and Powerball grew to $194 million.

Lotto Texas

The {3-2-1} Pattern returned Wednesday night with winning numbers 6, 15, 31, 35, 36 and 38. This Pattern has now played 1156 times. There have now been 2200 Lotto Texas drawings, and the {3-2-1} Pattern has played 52.5% of the time. Recall that this Pattern was seen in the August 7, 2023 drawing.
