Lotto Texas and Powerball had the honor of playing on February 28, 2018. The month ended with one word: “playback”. In fact, our February analysis for Lotto Texas and Powerball kicked off with not one playback, but two. Which lottery, or lotteries, ended the month the way it started?

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

Wednesday’s winning numbers were 1, 5, 18, 39, 45, and 52, bringing the number of appearances of the {3-3} Pattern up to 129.

Given that there have been 1529 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played 8.44% of the time. We last saw this Pattern in the December 27, 2017 drawing.

The 3 0 3 Specific Order, now with 50 appearances, has played in 38.8% of the 129 drawings where {3-3} was the winning Pattern. And, it was seen alongside the {3-3} Pattern in the earlier-mentioned December 27^th drawing. When looking at all 1529 drawings, this Specific Order has played 3.27% of the time.

Before moving on to the repeating Four-Number Combination(s) coverage, we would like to point out the Specific Order. Note that even though Lotto Texas saw a playback, it did not see an Australia Play. The 3 0 3 Specific Order was not the only one that could have played.

Four-Number Combination(s)

Although neither went as far as what we saw last time, a near seventeen-year gap is impressive. Was Powerball also bit by the playback bug?

General Lottery Analysis

With wining numbers 12, 30, 59, 65, 69, and PB 16, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern played for the 52^nd time.

Out of the 251 Powerball drawings to date, this Pattern has played in 20.7% of them, and was last seen a week ago in the February 21, 2021 drawing.

The [1-1-3-1] General Order, now with 23 appearances, has played in 44.2% of the 52 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Taking all 251 drawings into account, this General Order has played 9.16% of the time. The [1-1-3-1] General Order was also seen in the February 21^st drawing.

Did the Specific Order allow for a playback in Powerball, too?

The 1 0 1 0 3 1 Specific Order made its second appearance and has now played in 8.70% of the 23 drawings where [1-1-3-1] was the General Order. This Specific Order has also played in 3.85% of the 52 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Finally, when taking all 251 drawings into account, this Specific Order has played roughly 0.80% of the time. It turns out that Powerball did not see a playback. The 1 0 1 0 3 1 Specific Order made its debut in the July 15, 2017 drawing.

Three-Number Combination(s)

There weren’t any repeating Three-Number Combinations, either.

The One Where a Playback Happened

This past year has been a host of the unexpected at Lottery Trend headquarters:

And yet, there’s one phenomenon that outshines them all: the playback. Playbacks occur when the Pattern, General Order (Powerball and Mega Millions only), and Specific Order played together on a previous date. Unlike the Pattern associated with an Australia Play, a “Playback Pattern” can have more than one associated General Order (if applicable) and Specific Order.

Wednesday night saw at least one playback.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

The uncommonly seen {3-3} Pattern made its 128^th appearance in the December 27^th drawing, with winning numbers 2, 4, 15, 38, 48, and 53.

Given that there have been 1511 Lotto Texas drawings so far, this Pattern has played in 8.47% of them. This Pattern was last seen in the October 28, 2017 drawing.

The 3 0 3 Specific Order made its 49^th appearance. This has now played in 38.3% of the 128 drawings where the {3-3} Pattern has appeared. When taking all 1511 drawings into account, this Specific Order has played 3.24% of the time. The 3 0 3 Specific Order was seen alongside the {3-3} Pattern in the October 28^th drawing.

Four-Number Combination(s)

In addition to an uncommon Pattern, Wednesday night’s drawing saw the following repeating Four-Number Combination:

Unlike what we saw last time, this Combination made its debut in this decade. More specifically, the August 13, 2011 drawing.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Powerball saw its most commonly seen Pattern Wednesday evening. With winning numbers 3, 9, 16, 56, 60, and PB 3, the {2-1-1-1-1} pattern has now played 85 times.

This Pattern has played in 36.5% of the 233 Powerball drawings thus far. Prior to Wednesday night, we saw this Pattern in the December 16, 2017 drawing.

Now with 20 appearances, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has played in 23.5% of the 85 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 8.58% of all 233 drawings. The [2-1-1-1-1] General Order was last seen in the November 11, 2017 drawing.

The 2 1 0 1 1 1 Specific Order has now played five times. Of the 20 drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order made an appearance, this Specific Order has played 25% of the time. Out of the 85 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, this Specific Order has played in 5.88% of them. Finally, when taking all 233 drawings into account, this Specific Order has played 2.15% of the time. We last saw the 2 1 0 1 1 1 Specific Order in the July 5, 2017 drawing.

Pre-Halloween Playback Fever

October 28, 2017 was a good night for Netflix, nail-biting World Series games, and lottery. For those of you who enjoy playbacks, Saturday was your night! We saw a playback in Lotto Texas. Powerball was close, but a playback wasn’t meant to be. However, the Specific Order played for the first time in over a year. Which Pattern led the way to a playback in Lotto Texas, and what was that Powerball Specific Order?

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-3} Pattern made its 127^th appearance with winning numbers 3, 7, 13, 37, 38, and 50.

Given that there have been 1494 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played 8.5% of the time. We last saw this Pattern about a couple of months ago in the August 30, 2017 drawing.

Now with 48 appearances, the 3 0 3 Specific Order has played in 37.8% of the 127 drawings where the {3-3} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 3.21% of all 1494 drawings. The 3 0 3 Specific Order was also last seen on August 30^th.

Note that the “previously played” date for both the Pattern and Specific Order are the same. This is not an Australia Play because the Pattern and Specific Order are not the same. Remember that in Lotto Texas, an Australia Play consists of the {2-2-2} Pattern and 2 2 2 Specific Order.

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 27, 35, 38, 57, 66, and PB 10, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 64^th appearance.

This Pattern has played in 29.6% of the 216 Powerball drawings, and was last seen October 18, 2017.

Now with 20 appearances, the [1-2-2-1] General Order has played in 31.25% of the 64 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern appeared. It has also played in 9.26% of all 216 drawings, and was also seen in the October 18^th drawing.

The Specific Order of the evening was 0 1 2 0 2 1. Of the 20 drawings that featured the [1-2-2-1] General Order, this Specific Order has appeared 15% of the time. This Specific Order has also played in roughly 4.69% of the 64 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared. Prior to Saturday’s drawing, the 0 1 2 0 2 1 Specific Order previously played in the June 24, 2016 drawing.

Three-Number Combination(s)

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations Saturday night.

Of Nature and Numbers

The storm once known as Harvey is dead and done, now nothing more than a rain system pushing up and out through the eastern United States. Although the Sun is out, and blue skies are a much welcome sight, the aftermath will be felt for some time. The waters will recede, the clean-up will take place, and everyone impacted by the storm will eventually return to their “normal” lives. Add in the videos and photos that have made their rounds on the Internet, not to mention the records that have been broken, Harvey will be one for the history books. Regardless of your beliefs, or lack thereof, Nature is truly awe-some.

Meanwhile, in Lottery World, neither Lotto Texas nor Powerball broke any records August 30, 2017. However, there was nothing “ho-hum” about how each lottery ended the month.

Lotto Texas

With winning numbers 11, 16, 17, 44, 52, and 54, the not-so-common {3-3} Pattern made its 126^th appearance.

This Pattern has now played in 8.53% of the 1477 Lotto Texas drawings, and was last seen May 24, 2017.

Now with 47 appearances, the 3 0 3 Specific Order has played in 37.3% of the 126 drawings where the {3-3} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 3.18% of all 1477 drawings. The 3 0 3 Specific Order played alongside the {3-3} Pattern in the May 24^th drawing.

The repeating Four-Number Combination of the evening was 16, 17, 44, and 54.

Wednesday’s winning numbers for Powerball were 19, 28, 43, 67, 69, and PB 7, bringing the number of appearances of the {2-2-1-1} Pattern to 58.

This Pattern has now played in 29.1% of the 199 drawings to date, and previously played in the July 12, 2017 drawing.

Now with 18 appearances, the [2-1-2-1] General Order has played in 31% of the 58 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.04% of all 199 drawings. Prior to Wednesday, this General Order was last seen in the May 17, 2017 drawing.

Making its second appearance, the 0 2 0 1 2 1 Specific Order has played in 11.1% of the 18 drawings where the [2-1-2-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 3.45% of the 58 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in about 1% of all 199 drawings. The 0 2 0 1 2 1 Specific Order made its debut in the May 3, 2017 drawing.

Will either the {3-3} or {2-2-1-1} Pattern make an encore appearance? Will there be repeating Four-Number or Three-Number Combinations that have appeared multiple times before?

Leading Threes

Saturday night’s momentum continued into the May 24^th drawings for Lotto Texas and Powerball. Both lotteries saw big plays! One such play came in the form of our dear friends the repeating Combinations. Lotto Texas saw a repeating Four-Number Combination and Powerball had a repeating Three-Number Combination.

And in both Lotto Texas and Powerball, the number three (3) was not in short supply.

Lotto Texas

The not oft-seen {3-3} Pattern played for the 125^th time, with winning numbers 11, 13, 17, 48, 51, and 54.

This Pattern has now played in 8.63% of the 1449 Lotto Texas drawings, and previously played in the April 19, 2017 drawing.

Making its 46^th appearance, the 3 0 3 Specific Order has now played in 36.8% of the 125 drawings where the {3-3} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.17% of all drawings. Prior to Wednesday night’s drawing, this Specific Order was last seen in the April 8, 2017 drawing.

The repeating Four-Number Combination of the evening was 13, 48, 51, and 54.

This Combination made its debut in the January 27, 2010 drawing.

Powerball

Right off the heels of Saturday’s drawing, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore appearance. This time, the winning numbers were 28, 32, 33, 38, 62, and PB 15.

Now with 33 appearances, this Pattern has played in 19.3% of the 171 Powerball drawings.

Making its twelfth appearance, the [1-3-1-1] General Order has played in 36.4% of the 33 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.02% of all drawings. This General Order was last seen in the April 26, 2017 drawing.

With three appearances, the 0 1 3 0 1 1 Specific Order has now played in 25% of the 12 drawings where the [1-3-1-1] General Order has appeared, and approximately 9.09% of the 33 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. When looking at all 171 Powerball drawings, this statistic becomes 1.75%. This Specific Order was last seen in the early days of Lottery Binge: June 1, 2016, to be exact.

The repeating Three-Number Combination was 28, 33, and 38.

The debut for this Combination was in the February 15, 2017 drawing a little over three months ago.

Looks like Lotto Texas and Powerball are ready to kick it into high gear for summer. Will the lead-in to the Memorial Day weekend be a fireworks show or will things mellow out?

3-2-New

Any night where a Five-Number Combination repeats in Lotto Texas is going to be a tough act to follow. After this past Saturday, it wouldn’t have been unusual for Wednesday night to have been much quieter. If by “quiet”, it meant the second appearance of an uncommonly seen Pattern in the space of 11 days in Lotto Texas, or the debut of a Specific Order in Powerball, then April 19, 2017 had a quiet night, alright.

Lotto Texas

The not-so-often-seen {3-3} Pattern made its 124^th appearance, with winning numbers 3, 4, 13, 22, 23, and 32.

With 1439 Lotto Texas drawings to date, this Pattern has played in 8.62% of them, and was last seen in the April 8, 2017 drawing about a week-and-a-half ago.

Now with 38 appearances, the 3 3 0 Specific Order has played in 30.6% of the 124 drawings where the {3-3} Pattern has appeared. This becomes 2.64% when looking at all 1439 drawings. To see when the 3 3 0 Specific Order previously played, refer to the October 22, 2016 drawing.

Another big development in Lotto Texas was the repeat appearance of two Four-Number Combinations. The Combinations this time around were

3, 4, 23, 32, which debuted on December 17, 2008 and
3, 4, 22, 23, which debuted on November 29, 2014

Powerball

Powerball managed to take some of Lotto Texas’s thunder Wednesday night. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore appearance, with winning numbers 1, 19, 37, 40, 52, and PB 15.

With 58 appearances to date, this Pattern has played in 36.02% of the 161 drawings. Recall that this Pattern previously played in this past Saturday’s drawing.

Making its 13^th appearance, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has played in 22.4% of the 58 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 8.07% of all 161 drawings. Prior to Wednesday, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order previously played in the April 8, 2017 drawing 11 days ago.

Perhaps the biggest development in Powerball was the debut of the 1 1 2 1 0 1 Specific Order. This Specific Order has now played in 7.69% of the 13 drawings where the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order appeared. When taking the 58 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern appeared, this becomes 1.72%, and 0.62% overall.

Will there be a major upset in one of the Saturday night drawings, or will it be a “normal” night?

Rollercoaster Night

Posts that analyze Saturday night results are truly something here at Lottery Binge. There’s more to it than just two distinct lotteries having their own drawings. Lotto Texas and Powerball have their moments when they both have blowout appearances, and others when they both keep it low-key. Sometimes, like what happened on April 8^th, neither of these scenarios play out. Instead, we had one lottery where an uncommon Pattern played, and another where a very commonly played Pattern took the reins.

Lotto Texas

The not often seen {3-3} Pattern made its 123^rd appearance with winning numbers 10, 11, 12, 47, 48, and 52.

As there have been 1436 Lotto Texas drawings to date, this Pattern has now played approximately 9.14% of the time. Prior to Saturday, the {3-3} Pattern previously played in the February 15, 2017 drawing.

On the Specific Order side of things, 3 0 3 made its 45^th appearance. This Specific Order has now played in 36.6% of the 123 drawings where the {3-3} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.13% of all drawings. Like the {3-3} Pattern, the 3 0 3 was last seen on February 15^th.

Lotto Texas also gifted us with the repeating Four-Number Combination 10, 11, 12, and 47.

Powerball

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern is the most commonly seen Pattern in Powerball, and held onto its reign with winning numbers 23, 36, 51, 53, 60, and PB 15.

Now with 56 appearances, this Pattern has now played in 35.4% of the 158 Powerball drawings thus far. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern previously played in the April 1^stdrawing one week prior.

Next, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order made its 12^th appearance, its first since the March 29, 2017 drawing. This General Order has played in approximately 21.4% of the 56 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.59% of all drawings.

Finally, the 0 1 1 2 1 1 Specific Order made its second-ever appearance. This Specific Order has now played in 16.67% of the 12 drawings where the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has appeared. Continuing onward, we see that this Specific Order has also played in 3.57% of the 56 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.27% of all Powerball drawings. The 0 1 1 2 1 1 Specific Order made its debut in the November 5, 2016 drawing.

And lots of it. This February 15, 2017 was more than just the day after Valentine’s Day. Lotto Texas and Powerball had their drawings, and there was coupling up in both. By “coupling up”, we mean there was a Pattern and an Order that shared a “previously played” date. The dates, of course, varied.

Lotto Texas

For the 122^nd time, the {3-3} Pattern came out to play. The winning numbers were 1, 4, 5, 43, 53, and 54.

This Pattern has now appeared in 8.59% of the 1421 Lotto Texas drawings to date, and was last seen in the January 21, 2017 drawing.

The 3 0 3 Specific Order made its 44^th appearance, and has now played in 36.1% of the 122 drawings where the {3-3} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.1% of all drawings. Like the {3-3} Pattern, this Specific Order was last seen a few weeks ago in the January 21^st drawing.

Powerball

The Powerball Pattern of the evening was {3-1-1-1}, with winning numbers 5, 28, 33, 38, 42, and PB 19.

Now with 27 appearances, this Pattern has now played in 18.9% of the 143 Powerball drawings. We last saw this Pattern exactly two weeks prior in the February 1, 2017 drawing.

Next, the [1-1-3-1] General Order made its 11^th appearance, and it was also last seen on February 1^st. With that said, this General Order has now played in 40.7% of the 27 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.69% of all drawings.

The 1 1 3 0 0 1 Specific Order made its world debut, meaning that it has now played in 9.09% of the eleven drawings where the [1-1-3-1-] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 3.70% of the 27 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.7% of all drawings.

In an interesting turn of events, Saturday’s Lotto Texas drawing was an encore through-and-through. Of course, the numbers were different this time around. Meanwhile, Powerball saw a Specific Order make its debut.

Lotto Texas

The {3-3} Pattern made an encore appearance in the January 21^st drawing. The winning numbers this time around were 2, 13, 17, 39, 41, and 46.

Now with 121 appearances, this Pattern has played in 8.56% of the 1414 Lotto Texas drawings. Recall that we last saw the {3-3} Pattern in Wednesday’s drawing.

Like the {3-3} Pattern, the 3 0 3 Specific Order also made its last appearance in Wednesday’s drawing. With 43 appearances, this Specific Order has played in 35.5% of the 121 drawings where the {3-3} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.04% of all drawings.

Our Lotto Texas coverage concludes with the appearance of repeating Four-Number Combination 2, 13, 17, and 39.

To see when this Combination debuted, we need to go back to September 24^th, 2008. Eight years and three (going on four) months is quite a length of time to go before appearing again. Then again, that’s nothing compared to what we have seen.

Powerball

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 45^th appearance, with winning numbers 23, 25, 45, 52, 67, and PB 2.

This Pattern has played in 33.1% of the 136 Powerball drawings and was last seen in the New Year’s Eve drawing.

The [2-2-1-1] General Order made its 17^th appearance, bringing its play tally up to 37.8% of the 45 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and 11.6% of all drawings. Prior to Saturday, we last saw the [2-2-1-1] General Order in the December 14, 2016 drawing.

Saturday’s drawing marked the debut of the 0 2 0 2 1 1 1 Specific Order. This Specific Order has played in 5.89% of the 17 drawings where the [2-2-1-1] General Order has appeared. Additionally, it has played in 2.22% of the 45 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.68% of all drawings.

The repeating Three-Number Combination of the evening was 23, 25, and 67.

A (Mostly) November-December Dance

Wednesday means Hump Day, and what better way to get over the hump than to see a not-so-common Pattern get a play? The January 18,2017 drawing for Lotto Texas not only saw an uncommon Pattern, but a repeating Four-Number Combination that debuted nearly ten years ago! We also noticed that many of the “Previously played” dates for both Lotto Texas and Powerball happened to be from this past November and December.

Lotto Texas

The not-oft seen {3-3} Pattern made its 120^th appearance, thanks to winning numbers 6, 11, 17, 37, 40, and 49.

This Pattern has now played in 8.49% of the 1413 drawings, and was last seen in the November 30, 2016 drawing.

The Specific Order of the evening was 3 0 3. Now with 42 appearances, this Specific Order has played in 35% of the 120 drawings where the {3-3} Pattern appeared, and in 2.97% of all drawings. Prior to Wednesday, the 3 0 3 Specific Order previously played in the November 16, 2016 drawing.

The repeating Four-Number Combination this time around was 6, 11, 17, and 40, and it made its debut in the May 16, 2007 drawing.

Powerball

Unlike Lotto Texas, Powerball did not see a rarely-played Pattern or repeating Combinations. Instead, we were treated to the 47^th appearance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, ensuring its dominance. The winning numbers were 9, 40, 41, 53, 58, and PB 12.

Having now made 47 appearances, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played in 34.8% of 135 Powerball drawings. We last saw this Pattern in the January 7, 2017 drawing.
